Valid points:

1. Genuineness of the number will be controlled by admins. No number addition will be approved just bcos a user has input it into the app. How to monitor that & validate authencity? Will have to build a logic for that. Top of mind I see a reference model (for eg: the senior members in this group would have major contacts. They could validate). Also, with ratings / reviews mentioning fakeness, it would be highlighted very easily. Then it comes down to the user trusting the authenticity of the app.

2. Bulk purchase is obviously a scam. A monthly / yearly subscription is what I was thinking of.

3. LE action. Shouldn't be applicable as no transaction would happen here. It would be a purely a database with a scoring system. Playing around the words & not mentioning any controversial words like SP / independent etc would help.

Nwz, all of this is just a thought right now. Wanted to guage the interest first on a service like this.

You might say the information (of fake SPs and indies) may not be there at first glance, but it is available if you are thorough. Also, it's not the issue IMO, the "fakeness" comes from users here as there is no way an indie logs in here to give incorrect info. She'll be called out right away even if someone falls for the scam initially. So there is sort of checks and balances in place here.

Even in app you'll have these fake users promoting their fake contacts. You can not avoid that.

I saw in FB that someone has made an app to share all the contacts of WGs, Indies and SPs. You pay 2500 and get all info at once through app. Or share a contact and get the info. People paid and got the contacts but there is no way to prove how authentic the contacts are. In your app, if you started to use "verification" process, then you'll have no "plausible deniability" in case of LE action. Also, your personal info will be shared by Google, FB or Apple to LEA easily. Along with everyone in your app. So be careful.
