1. If you want to pay after and she refuses. Sometimes if you can get thru that BS quickly enough and walk out of the room. You can cancel the room and get a refund! I've done that before. Of course when talking to the hotel clerk you should tell her that the puta is a lot of problems and basically blame her for everything.

2. I have an idea of telling the puta beforehand. In the street. That you only pay after sex and asking her if that is OK. If not, moving on to the next one.

3. Some putas are legit but have a firm policy of demanding payment upfront. So you might end up having to walk out a lot and blasting away a considerable amount in hotel fees. 31000 COP is $7 now. That can add up if you walk on a lot of putas. And also you might end up blowing away some number of legit putas who just happen to have the payment-upfront policy. Do you have some comment on this point?

Agreed with one chica on 40000 and 22000 for hotel. Went, paid for hotel, got into the room. She asked to me to pay so I paid. She then said that if I want a blowjob then I should pay more. Pretty much every bad experience I've had can be traced to violating either of these rules. Think of how your experience would have played out if you kept your money to the end--as soon as she started to deadfish or demand extras you could have just kicked her to the curb or walked off and all you'd be out is the hotel fee. A girl who already has your money generally has little incentive to perform well, especially if they don't think you'll repeat.

The second rule is another obvious one that I've seen a number of mongers break. They always say they like to "go with the flow" and pretend this hot woman is really into them and are no doubt hoping they're getting laid for free. Hell, I've made this mistake too. I met a fine chica on Tinder who was really flirty and seemed to be genuinely into me. After a long conversation she agreed to meet me later that day. Still no mention of any money changing hands, but doubts began to creep into my mind so eventually I asked what she wanted in exchange for meeting. After some hemming and hawing she finally said she wanted $200. I counter offered my usual (150,000 pesos) and she got all huffy and refused. Just like that, illusion shattered. If you don't have another account using the same pictures, I don't think Facebook goes to the trouble of searching the Internet for a match. If, by chance, you have a local friend who has the same friend as you, you will probably be exposed to your friend. They do a cross check and post "People you may know" in the friend's timeline. Do not have another gringo as a friend in your monger account. That is how many people get exposed.

Facebook also connects you if you have two accounts and look at them both from the same IP. That's the simplest way. Then they post pics of "people you may know" back and forth since they know that if there are two FB accounts at the same internet address (and computer) then logically they will know each other. So as far as I know the only way to keep them totally separate would be to never use the same computer and IP. And depending how sophisticated their algorithm is probably never checking in at the same time in the same area even. So no need for them to use facial recognition. Way way simpler than that. If they have any desire to chase that info. In my case they know, I'm sure. They routinely post pics of friends from one account on my other one suggesting that I might know them. I finally did end up with 3 people I believe in common on my 2 FB accounts. I've checked with friends to see if they get random friend suggestions from my "other" FB account, and as far as I know this has not happened. But I don't want it to. That's for sure. One is for family, and old friends. The other I use mostly when travelling. So the hundred or so younger lady friends I have on my travel FB don't mix that well with my family, children, grandchildren, etc. At least I hope they don't get mixed. So far no disasters. But it's high risk to have 2 accounts if you have any sort of dual lifestyle you don't want mixed together.

I agree 100%. It absolutely depends on the newcomer. It also depends on what kind of experience is wanted. Stepping out of our comfort zone to deal with people on equal terms is not for everybody, and neither is bunking with a bunch of gringos and sharing the house girls in between trips to Juan Valdez cafe. There is no wrong or right way to go. It's all about finding what makes you happy.

Agree. In my case I am comfortable with a lot of places that many others are not. No problem with the centro casas and strip clubs (at least the 3 or 4 I've been to). But I never quite got comfortable with partaking in the downtown street scene. I walked it, and looked. Saw some I could have been interested in. But was also aware of too many things that could go badly. And I also agree with a previous poster that from one street to the next things can feel very very different. There are streets that are scary under the bright sun at noon. There are others less than 2 blocks away that I have walked at night and felt reasonably safe. Probably just me. But nothing comparable to the Santa Fe zona de tolerencia in Bogota, where I basically felt safe. That is a smaller area, but basically dedicated to sex. So totally different than the downtown parts of Medellin. And my bet would be that centro Medellin at night. Especially after Metro shuts down. Is way more dangerous. In a zombie world sort of sense.

Perhaps if one were to interview an objective sample "those street girls" some of your presumptions may be true. However, I can tell you that I have spoken to many girls on the streets in Medellin. Avoiding glue sniffers and anyone who looks as if they may have missed a shower on that day, the majority I have spoken to for more than 30 seconds were surprisingly friendly and sharp.

Forgive me, I'm truly fond of all the people and culture of Antioquia and Colombia. Also, I am compassionate towards people in all circumstances. I stand scolded. However, el centro is not a place for a newcomer to have the most satisfying experiences available.

And the rooms are disgusting, its more like breeding in a kennel than any kind of happy fantasy. If you've traveled all the way to Antioquia to do business there. Well. That's remarkably pathetic.

The Tall Man has over 20 years mongering in all parts of the world, I have enjoyed the very high end clubs in europe and russia and guess what? Over the past year plus I have spent considerable time in centro and have found a few real gems that are humble, fun and who rock my world.

1. Casas, salas de citas. Do not have signs, they look like any nondescript office or apartment. 2. Evenings are the worst time to visit them. Late morning or early afternoon. 3. Gems are not typically found in the well-known, higher profile casas like Energy. They are high volume girls, typically "operadas" (surgically remastered, robotic chicas) Patience, walking shoes, and dig a little deeper. 4. Yes its a spanish speaking society, any travelog book at your local library will say so.

Dear all,I will be arriving to Medellin next week, late at night. I asked this days ago, but nobody responded: anyone knows if at the MDE airport there is any shop selling SIM cards or recargas, open after 11 pm?

Ok I am here so I can respond my questions, to the benefit of others who are interested to this.

THERE IS a small shop at MDE airport, open 24/24 (so the salesgirl told me), right in front of Juan Valdez at 2nd floor (1st floor with European numbering). They sell also SIM cards and do recargas, but it's not their line of business (not even advertised with a sign).

At 11 pm, I bought a TIGO prepaid SIM card, with 4 G LTE, and I added a data plan for 1 GB 1 week, for only 16 k. There must be some problem, because it connects and works, but since yesterday my MIFI connects only to Edge and with few kbps data speed. Unusable nearly. Today I go to buy a Claro in an official sales point.

About IMEI registration, no issues at all. My devices are all working. The GSM phone was succeffully registered online, the MIFI comes from my operator and works (well, I hope the EDGE problem is not due to this).

I didn't watch the whole video, but it begins at the corner behind Iglesia de la Veracruz. Calle 51 at Carrera 53, I believe.

Downtown is a large area. However, every place you want to go is within walking distance. If you don't want to stay downtown, pick a spot in Laureles close to a metro station. You can be downtown in under 10 minutes for under $1.

Most of the casas are downtown, several blocks east and a few blocks north of where the video begins. Walking downtown at night is optional. I did it 3 times a week for a few months without anyone bothering me. However, there were streets I avoided after 8 pm. After that, most of the shopping places are closed or closing.

Most of the streetwalkers are reasonably safe with regards to pimps. If you're looking for curvier ones, try the area around Calle 53 and Carrera 54.

There are plenty of love motels in Colombia. Prices range from about 15 k to 100 k. 15 k gets a bed and a shower. 100 k gets jacuzzi, stripper pole, love chair, sound system, great shower and every accessory you can think of available for a price. They are all over the city, with several downtown.

That video starts at Calle 51 and Cra 53. The area from Calle 51 to 53 between Cra 51 and 54 should encompass the complete RLD. Calle 53 is also known as Av DeGrieff. The Veracruz area is Calle 53 from Cra 51 to 52. The RLD is downtown. It is within walking distance to most of the downtown casas.

Almost all the working chicas in Medellin are independents. It a good ideal to survey your surrounding at all times. There should not be a problem taking the chicas to a room because the room is in a hotel, not in someone's house.

There are many love hotels in and around Medellin.

Many Medellin residents have told me to not be downtown after dark. I take their advice and I'm not there walking the streets after dark. There are too many other options to take that risk. There are no reasons that better chicas come out after dark in the downtown area.

Agreed. For the most part. If you are new to an area, the people who hang out there every day will notice you immediately. If you look like a gringo or a tourist, they will assume you have more money in your pocket than anyone else on the block. Especially if you are walking back and forth rubbernecking. IF you do choose to go to an area like that, I suggest taking a seat and plant yourself somewhere in the middle for an hour and you can relax assess and take in the show much more discretely and safely. IMHO a very entertaining experience.
