This is very disturbing. It definitely is an inside job. Mimi the owner has been in the business for a long time and takes care of regular LE. This looks like a con job by some guys who may or may not be real cops. You should have confronted the person. Normally when you do so they don't press much, unless you are caught red handed. She is an old hand now; its amazing she is still going strong.
