Posts: 122Hotel Du Parc Royal is right on Parque Lleras. Its very nice and girl friendly. I've stayed there. I've also used airbnb and stayed in condos in Poblado. You will need to ask if they are guest friendly to confirm before booking. Personally, I like the airbnb route, but the nice hotels are very good option. If I were staying back in that area, I would opt for something very close to Lleras. The area around Pobaldo and lleras is pretty hilly and not as easy to walk like say Laureles neighborhood.

Posts: 763Green eye color is the rarest color found around the world, and it is estimated that only around 2% of the world's population has green colored eyes.

I will in Medellin towards the end of this month.
Based on the reading done here. Plan to stay in Parque LLares or Poblado.
Do the high end hotels in this area allow girls for the night?
Do you recommend AirBnB or a hotel?
Also if anyone knows of girl friendly hotels please reply.

Posts: 5607Laureles is fine at night, unless you're falling down drunk. But, no place is safe when you're that drunk.

Why deal with traffic going from Laureles to Poblado? Depending on your walking pace, San Peter Suites is 5 to 10 minutes away from the Estadio metro station. Take the metro to San Antonio station, switch trains to Poblado station and you're there in 15 minutes. From there grab a taxi to the Mansion, or better yet to Centro Comercial La Strada, where you can meet your friends and have an excellent breakfast at Al Alma Cafe. It's just a short walk down hill from the Mansion.

Posts: 112As a fellow blonde-haired blue-eyed gringo I've gotten pretty good mileage with my features in latin america. I can count on one hand the number of compliments I've received during my life in the states on my physical appearance but it seems to drive latinas wild. A few have even "jokingly" suggested we should have kids together and remark on how beautiful they would be.

Posts: 96That's the issue with global averages, my friend.
Yes but that 8% climbs significantly if you don't consider the whole of South America, Africa, the Middle East and (most importantly) Asia. And I do live in Northern Europe where (thank God) we are blessed with quite a few blue-eyed ladies.

Shame there isn't a Medellin (with Mansion included) in Sweden or Norway because that would probably be the closest thing to heaven on earth. Maybe somewhere in Russia but the language is quite the insurmountable obstacle and I won't even mention personal safety!

I visited a buddy who stays in Laureles (a couple of months ago) and it's a very laidback area. Kinda hippie, veggie, international back packer type of neighborhood.

Posts: 3505They are a treat anywhere in the world. People with blue eyes make up only 8% of the world's population.

Posts: 122I've stayed in Laureles at the Sans Peter. No issues for me walking around at night. It is a nice Colombian neighborhood. The rooms are basically one bedroom apartments. Barry Branchfield, Poblado Apartments, has several apartments and condos for rent. Look on Airbnb or vrbo. Also, Hotel Du Parc Royal is right on Parque Lleras. Its pretty nice hotel and girl friendly.

Posts: 96Thanks BF. Anyone knows anywhere closer to (or ideally in Poblado? I have friends staying at the Mansion that I will be seeing daily and don't really fancy spending my morning / evening in Medellin traffic.

Those prices are great though. Truth be told I've never stayed in Laureles after dusk so not sure how safe it is. Especially when one has had a bit to drink!

Posts: 96Thanks for sharing BC. Valentina seems a true gem. Great attitude and a really cute appearance. Blonde girls with blue eyes are such a treat in South America!
