For my next trip to Medellin, I would love to unload about 15,000 Mexican pesos I have. I want to exchange them in Medellin for Colombian pesos. I imagine though that you get a terrible exchange rate just like when you exchange dollars for COP.

Can anyone report on MX peso to COP rates?

Many years ago I used to travel to South America quite frequently on business. I was always hosed exchanging one countries currency for another. You will get a far worse rate exchanging MNP for COP than the equivalent of exchanging USD for COP.

Lots depends on the country you are currently in. For example, if you're in the US and never plan to go to Mexico ever again, exchange the MNP for USD. Yes, you'll take a hit but I don't think it will be worse than trying to exchange MNP to COP in Colombia. If you do plan to visit Mexico again, just save your MNP (it is worth about $800 USD) for your next trip.

If she is 18 or over, and not doing drugs, the police will most likely not bother you. I have never had an unpleasant experience with the police in Medellin, and I have been there more than 30 times in the past eight years. I have seen some attractive women around Parque Lleras. Most of the time, I have seen them on the street between the park and Hooters.

1. I am not a big guy. Like 5'9 160. I'm toned, fit, and athletic but I am not going to intimidate anyone. Do you think it would be unwise of me to go to bars / clubs in El Pablado or Laurales by myself at night? I know there is no certainty to anything being safe or dangerous but if I am careful, not getting wasted, am I going to be ok going out for a drink or dancing?

2. I think I have decent radar for people that are trying to pull some bull shit. Like a woman that is faking her attraction of me in order to take advantage of me. In other words, I am not going to buy bottles for a crew of blazing hot chicks that I know wouldn't otherwise giving me the time of day. My question is, do you guys have experiences when a girl has been totally normal (almost conservative) and then totally turned on you into one of the crazies?

1) You'll be fine going to clubs and bars in Poblado or Laureles by yourself at night. Just watch your drink. But I think it would be better to invite a chick to go out with you. You can always trade up.

2) Never had one go crazy on me but I did have to forcibly remove one from my apartment because she refused to leave.

You can save yourself a lot of trouble by only bringing one chick back to your place at anytime. Every single time I have had an unpleasant experience with a chick I picked up. It was because there was more than one in my apartment. Never again. If I can't separate her from her friends she isn't coming over no matter how hot she is.

3) Little chance of the police bothering you for picking up street walkers in Lleras but why bother unless your other plans fell though. Lleras street walkers are some pretty low hanging fruit. Much better things to do. Every now and then you'll see a nice one but very rarely.

4) I have never been to MUTE but I would find a chick or two than liked techno and go with them. When you take chicks out and you are buying the drinks You do what you want. So if you see another hot chick just go for it. Unless you haven't fucked the chicks you are with and didn't pay. You can do what you want.

Not entirely. Like I said, I think I can do quite a bit while I am there. I plan to check out all options that are tossed around here. FB, CC, SA, casas, online websites. Whatever. But my question does pertain to just heading out to see where the night takes me.

I have been reading this forum and doing online research every night, trying to get a better understanding for what I am in for when I get to Medellin for 10 days in March. I am taking FaceTime Spanish lessons twice a week until I leave which is on top of a very basic foundation (2 years in high school and 1 in college. I'm 40 so it's been a while). My AirBnB is set, and it will be great based on my discussion with the owner and some reviews here. I feel like 10 days is plenty of time to have fun with the chica activities, see the sites, and maybe even make a real friend or two. So, generally speaking and thankful to a lot of the guidance I have received here, I think I am setting myself up for a good time.

I did not find any luck with FB girls so I decided to open an account on colombian cupid. After paying $59.99 for 3 months, I received tons of responses from women between 31 and 46 years of age. Most of them are in the range of 4 and have a job. All of them gave me their whattsapp number, so I can communicate with them on phone and see them on camera. The problem is that most of them stays offline due to the fact that they do not have internet services at home and use the phone as internet. Also during the day time they are working and cannot use their phone at work. We vaguely chat during the night or see on cam. Most of them will expose themselves on camera and do a video sex act or mastrubate that shows their willingness for sex. Only 2 of them have so far asked for help with paying their bills and sending the money by western union and I deleted them. None of them speak any english and speak spanish very rapidly. I can understand the spanish, but loose the track when they speak very fast. I use the translator for communication. The problem is most of these women are looking for serious relationship and not just sexual. Most of these women are humble, live in normal house and have grown up children. Most of them do not drink alcohol or if they drink will be social.

I honestly have not been to Colombia yet (I am going in a month), but I have been on cupid and I can confirm that a first copy and paste message to 10 girls will get you a phone number in most cases (assuming they read the message) if you ask for it. Are you emailing women under 31 or just waiting for women to message you?. The women I have spoken to are 90% available for PFP if you ask them. It is almost shocking. And the ones that are not interested in PFP have been nice and will keep talking to you (if you want to continue with them). My objective has been to get them off the cupid website right away. Cupid can ban you for being honest and direct, but they can't see your whatsapp conversations. My advice is to send emails that lead to a number request, and get down to serious business over whatsapp. And send lots of message to the girls you like. You are 100% correct on what you said. Seen prettier and / or stunners (occasional) in the streets / Metro. It just that I expected more quality in those places.

I also want to be clear to everyone that I had pleasant experiences with all my in-call and out-call girls, no one showed any attitude, rushing or anything.
