I was last in Haiti in 2015 and stayed at the Gala Guest House which was very girl friendly.

I'm not sure if it is still open.

Can anyone advise as to the best girl friendly hotel in Petionville / Delmas in 2019 ?

So for a tall white gringo is it safe to travel? If so to which city do you recommend? And I would love to meet some non-pros on a walk around town, is this the most effective way?

As a white man you will be as safe as traveling in any other third world country. You just have to stay aware and avoid drawing to much attention to yourself other than the fact that your already a walking ATM.

I like Au Cap but to be honest there have been a lot of foreigners there for a long time and the people don't hassle or notice you as much as they do in PAP. This can be good and bad, if you want girls to notice you. That being said there are plenty who will either way. I just think the action is greater in PAP simply due to the supply.

In PAP, Petionville (PV) go sit at Epidor for breakfast or lunch and make eye contact and smile. You will make a friend. There is an Epidor down Delmas too. Epidor is the closet thing to a fast food restaurant in Haiti. Also in PV are bars like Barrack and Kokoye that also serve food. Kokoye is more of a restaurant with a bar but has some good live music and people. Barrack is a bar night club that will have some pros but you will know. Still shy but more aggressive than others. Also try Harry's and Muncheez. Muncheez is good people watching, some music and you can really get to know the waitresses there too.

I'm sure BlanLocal (thanks for the trip report, BlanLocal) will give you a response. In the meantime, allow me to give you some advice on Haiti. If it will be your first time in Haiti, consider Cap-Haitien, as I was there in 2014 and had a great time. While it's still Haiti, it's smaller than Port-au-Prince and is a lot more manageable as a first timer (probably safer, too). If I remember correctly from your past ISG reports, you like to do the tourist thing while you're in a country, and there are a lot of things like that to do in Cap-Haitien and the surrounding area. American Airlines flies direct to the city from Miami, too.

If you're interested in learning more, send me a PM and I will tell you the hotel where you should stay and the name of a guy who works / owns the hotel and can likely help you in the mongering aspect of the city.

3) I practically live in Haiti so I cannot report my every encounter but have always provided thoughts and even hosted mongers at my guest house.

4) Share your frustration over the fact that some of us cannot pay our ISG membership anymore due to the fact that they don't accept American credit cards. Hopefully the site will get that fixed soon. So for now if someone needs Haiti information I guess you'll have to ask here.

As for information on girls in Haiti. I've said this many times, the action in Haiti is non-pro. You only need to walk down the street, eat breakfast, go to dinner, go to a club and you will meet girls. Yes there are pro's on the street but few. The average price for a girl is dinner and drinks if you get what I mean. If you just want to meet one in a club that is semi-pro you can give her 2-3,000 gourds in the morning. Most regular girls will not ask you for the money. They just expect that you will help them a little. There are no "sessions" in Haiti. Just encounters. In Haiti you are not paying the girl to come with you. You are paying her to leave in a couple of hours or the next morning. It's that simple. Attached a few photos for you chocolate lovers. However, most Haitian girls are not keen on you taking their photo. They again, have a lot of pride in Haiti and want to be treated with respect. And as a blan (white visitor) you would be wise not to cross them.

I am back and forth a lot. This recent manifestation is the largest and longest one I've seen in 9 years. While you can get in and to your hotel finding grocery stores and restaurants that are open will be hit and miss. There is also gas some days and others not if you have a car. You're better off waiting a couple of weeks to see where things go. Just staying in and around PV is probably not a problem but still would wait this next week or two out. At least wait for the embassy's to return their staff.

I heard on the news this past week of a serious travel warning to Haiti, by the sound of it the country is going deeper into shit if that is even possible.

Hotel bars in Haiti are not necessarily the best places, in fact in 9 years of living and coming and going in Haiti I've never pulled a girl out of one because most of the time they are middle class working Haitians that don't need to. There are regular clubs like Fubar and Barrak that you can meet girls just out looking for fun. Otherwise, you meet them everywhere. Grocery store, breakfast or on the street. In Haiti you do have to play the game a bit and make eye contact and some small talk. Most will give you their number and want to meet or go out. There are street hookers but why would you need one when regular girls are everywhere. Street hookers, or "WG" as they call them are on a few corners in PV but don't worry they will find you and haggle you in you are a foreigner.

How was your trip? I'm planning one of my own for March (first time). Basically, what I've picked up from the forum is that Best Western bar in P-ville or Oasis is the place to go and not to spend more than $50 on a girl. Any tips, words of advise, or other bars to add to the list?

No Hotel an hour and a half outside of PAP will come pick you up unless it's Decameron.

"Taxi's" as you know them are non existent Drivers can be found just after you walk around the corner from Customs. Expect to pay $150 at least for that far.

Contact your hotel by e-mail and arrange to be picked-up by their driver at the airport when you arrive. If they don't offer that service, you can likely get a taxi from the airport to your hotel. To know how much you should pay (and any other details about Haiti), be sure to pick up the Bradt Haiti guidebook through Amazon.

Contact your hotel by e-mail and arrange to be picked-up by their driver at the airport when you arrive. If they don't offer that service, you can likely get a taxi from the airport to your hotel.
