Posts: 170Your experience and wisdom on hotels is much appreciated gentlemen. My vacation may be rescheduled to August now for business reasons but this is all helpful.
I may combine a cheap business hotel with some love hotel nights, the non pre booking flexibility on the latter being useful.
Thanks again, I shall be reading.

Posts: 1738I recall reading a few years ago that love hotels would mainly only allow overnight stays after around 11 Pm, when there wouldn't be much short term activity going on.
Guess everything is negotiable though these days.

I handled my accommodations and fun a little differently from what most of you are recommending; I used my regular hotels for sleep / etc. Only and went to love hotels for delivery health activities. This probably wasn't very cost effective compared with staying in a visitor-friendly hotel in Shinjuku, but using love hotels for short-time fun was part of the thrill for me.
I did notice, when searching on booking.com and other hotel sites that some places listed in Shibuya and Shinjuku were marked ADULTS ONLY, so these were most likely love hotels that also allowed longer stays or at minimum guest friendly. I guess one advantage to using a love hotel as your actual hotel would be that love hotels tend to have bigger rooms or at least bigger beds than standard hotels, and for sure bigger than standard business hotels.
One love hotel that I used was Hotel BaliAn Resort Shinjuku Island, and the lobby and front desk / check-in procedure was must more like a regular hotel than a love hotel, so I think it would work for both purposes.

Posts: 280I looked into this before but it was difficult finding love hotel listings online for overnight stays or the price seemed prohibitive. Setting it up in person I expect would be much easier. Oddly in a NYT article on frugal travel he actually ended up in one by accident. Open to suggestions if anyone has them, from the naughty standpoint I think it would be fun to stay 2 nights in one in shinjuku.

Posts: 1738Hotel Fine Shinjuku is another short time hotel that has 24 HR rates (Y6000). "Not a business hotel or love hotel" but with hotel facilities.
I have met the owner in Sydney a couple of times; she has recently taken it over and renovated; from web site it looks quite respectable.

Posts: 179Tokyo love hotel. Long stay
You can do a long-term stay at many love hotels; simply ask when you get there or call in advance if you have the language skills. In fact, the few times I did it I was asked was I staying multiple days (I. E. , like a regular hotel) and if so, I would get a discount for extended stay. I've never stayed more than 24 hours at any one love hotel, but you have that option and need not worry about repeat booking. Just a thought, and good luck to you.

Posts: 5For a traditional hotel I recommend the Shinjuku Granbell Hotel in Kabukicho. I found it quiet even if located in Tokyo's greatest red light district. The elevators do not have any security system and the configuration of the lobby allows the ladies to access the rooms unnoticed.

I have used airbnb quite a lot previously, but shyed away from it having heard of a 2017 law change (Minpaku law) in Japan which unfortunately due to complexity and backlog in landlords registration system caused many bookings being cancelled. However, a little research now tells me it should be fine providing an official registration number is quoted in the airbnb booking information, then you can be sure they are registered and it will most likely remain a solid booking. There are restrictions in some Tokyo areas though. More information. https://resources.realestate.co.jp/n...-need-to-know/.
The long term love hotel idea is an interesting back up idea, but I think I would prefer one place for the duration without repeat booking.
Thanks Aussie, yes it might help to be booked as 2. Thanks.

I also recommend you look into Air BnB options if you are adventurous. It's getting to be quite a popular service in Japan (especially the Tokyo area) and you can get a nice place for $70 - $80 per night sometimes (the same cost as many hotels). I stayed at a really nice (and spacious by Japanese standards) apartment in Shibuya near the love hotel area once. Made for easy acces to everything and no worries about bringing ladies back or using delivery health (if you can explain the address location). Check it out if you're comfortable with giving directions and getting your own meals and not relying on hotel food service.

And don't forget about "long-term" stay at a "nicer" love hotel. I've done that too and the stay even came with a Continental style breakfast. The cost was about $95, I was given a room key (which I was supposed to turn in every time I exited the hotel), and I had the place for a full 24 hrs.

Posts: 1738Just another thought, many Japanese hotels have single bed rooms, and a double bed room costs more. If you are planning on bringing a girl back, make sure you have booked a double, and perhaps book as "Mr & Mrs DT".

That's very helpful, especially the thoughts on connectivity and business hotel visitor rules.

Posts: 1738Personally I prefer to stay in the Ikebukuro area when I am in Tokyo. Quieter than the mainstream areas, but plenty of accomodation, maybe a bit cheaper than elsewhere, and plenty of food options (try upstairs in the dept store next to station). Good transport options with Yamonote line and a couple of subways.

Hi all.
I'm coming to Tokyo in a few weeks.
Apart from sight seeing, having read through chunks of the forum I am also hoping to enjoy THC / Paradise / a Pink Salon or two and a "delivery health" to a funky love hotel.
I'm overwhelmed by the shear volume of hotels on offer. Any recommendations? Preferably 3 maybe 4 star with breakfast. Close to Japanese and Western food options?
Convenient for access to the services we enjoy. Preferably not too noisy! I'm happy with automated check in etc and in fact it may be handy if I take a "delivery" to my room.
I have done a forum search but the results throw up hundreds of references to love "hotel" !
What areas would anyone suggest if not the most popular?
Thanks guys, repay you in reports!

Posts: 120I agree with Steve 9696. If your ultimate goal from this encounter is FS, use a service that offers it, not one where you MIGHT get it based on various factors. If you're considering using a delivery health service and then repeating to increase your odds of getting FS, then you're really doubling the price anyway, so no big savings. And "getting" FS from a delivery health girl might not / probably won't be free, so consider that cost as well. Paradise will probably end up being the same price or less without the stress of not knowing what exactly you're going to get.

Add that cost to the cost of the trip to Paradise and divide by two and you've cost-averaged two FS experiences. Add in a trip to Jan Jan for practically no more money (only Y3000 for a BBBJTCIM) and Tokyo will almost seem cheap! Then you can start pricing out the bullet train to Osaka to try some of the incredible fun there.

If you have $400 stop debating. Book June for 90 mins at Paradise Soapland and you will have FS and mat play that will rock your world. See my report for details (I am sure other girls are good Sophia was but June is just a whirlwind of sexual energy and submissiveness that is to die for). One of my favorite times ever and forum regulars will attest that I have been around the block once or twice.
