Last time I went to Colombia, i.e. last February, I bought some 15-20 boxes 4 x50mg from Genfar, that is one of the best local brands for generic drugs. The price was just a bit higher than yours, 6000-8000 for a box of 4, but sopposedly one of the best brands. I intended to bring to my home country (where prescription is needed, price is high...) a supply for a whole year of travels worldwide. Then COVID showed up in my country right after I flew back home. The expiration dates are in 2021 <gosh!> I am watching the boxes aging month after month.

It really depends on the Country and their urgency for tourists.

But there is an ocean between what you wish and what you can achieve. The problem is not only cost, but also the capacity to test. There is a maximum number of tests you can do in a country, which depends not only on how much the government has invested in equipment, reactants, and personnel, but also on how many of such it was capable to purchase and secure.

In total, so far they have shipped some millions of tests in USA, and they are not selling outside USA because they give priority to their home government.
How could a country, especially if poor and focused on tourism, decide to allocate 50k-100k tests / day just for tourists intead of the local population?

Singapore is one of the best organized and richest countries in the world. Still they can afford no more than few thousands tests for inbound travellers, and no way the consider to open to short-time visitors still for a long time:

Before COVID, the number of passengers in Changi was 200k / day. If 50% is inbound, just to test them they would need 100k tests / day (and then you also need a place for quarantine).

I am very sorry to say this, but we must recognize that for the moment there is no light visible at the end of the tunnel. Wait and hope that the virus disappears, spontaneously, helped by social distancing, or by a vaccine found effective enough.

It really depends on the Country and their urgency for tourists. Iceland is a perfect example, you show up, they test you, and if your negative your free to go. A few other Countries are following suit, with Greece having a test upon arrival and a mandated stay in a hotel for one night. It will be interesting to see how this works out in these Countries in the next few months as having a two week quarantine period regardless of testing is a tourism no go. Hopefully a testing on arrival without a quarantine period is on the horizon for entry into Colombia in the near future, only time will tell.

Of course we're all guessing.

There are about 3-4 porteros in each building for all the shifts. The first time I see them, I tip them 10-20 mil. After that they are very helpful and generally over look my perceived moral transgressions. Even the female porteros. They seem to go out of their way to be helpful and protective of me. For my 2 week trip, I think the 50 to 80 mil is worth every peso. They will also take care of your deliveries etc. As an additional bonus LOL. Also, if a lot of girls are visiting you, don't hang out in public areas of the building for too long with the girls and also, if you are seen with the girls, don't act all squirlly, just act nonchalant and normal.

I tip the door-mans well when I stayed in Medellin for 3-4 weeks, it worked out great; but I can feel that I'm being marked by other residents, who are highly established professionals working in poblado. The door-mans try to distance themselves from me in the presence of other tenants, and it's awkward to check-in / out three or four 18-year-olds a day. If I do a six months stay in a penthouse where the girls have to go through every floor to get to me, there will be troubles after a month or two. This sounds like a first world problem, but it is a problem nonetheless. I probably will spend my first 3 weeks in a temporary Airbnb, and decide on a permanent place after carefully visiting and evaluating each candidates.

I have a similar situation going on in my place right now which involves under developed social skills. I have a chica who is living with me and my girlfriend. She is the girlfriend of the son of my girlfriend. This girl is absolutely beautiful, plain and simple a 9. 8 on the 10 scale, especially in looks and body. Put there is something about watching her have sex with my girlfriend's son for free and trying to get clients around the city to pay or dates. A-fucking-men! I made the mistake of telling / showing Wifey that Tito's is way fucking better than Smirnoff. Thankfully, she's more of the, "I'll drink half a can of Smirnoff Ice and then leave it somewhere around the apartment" type. Also, Paisas don't know what Lululemon is, so no need to pay the markup. I checked, last night, after using Rappi: 18 beers for me - 41 k / 12 Smirnoff for her and the girls - 58 k. There is a point that is generally missed, when people talks about testing: the number of tests.

Such test do exist, even rapid, and in few hours they can (more or less reliably) say if in the sample there is COVID virus or not (swab test, PCR, etc.). The problem is how many tests are available and how they can be produced industrially.

Imagine you have unlimited test capacity: then you test all population of your country every 2 weeks, isolate the positive persons, iterate. In 1 or 2 months you have completely solved the problem. Then do it on all 7 billions people on Earth. Pandemic is over.

For all Europe or USA, that means 24M test / day. Currently they do something like 500k per day!
In Singapore, now they have reopened the airport to Singaporeans and long-time pass holders, but they have to pay 200+2000 SGD for testing and 14 days quaranting in a government location. No hint of opening to short time time visitors and tourists still for a long time. Why? Because Singapore Changi was used to handle 60-70 millions passengers per year. 200k tests per day at the airport just for tourists?? And the quarantine? No way.

So after weeks and weeks of searching seems like all flights to Colombia for July are cancelled. While I have been happy for all the fellas on here having a blast there, part of me is slowing dying wishing I could go in July LOL. Being that July is the only month when I can take a vacation before starting a new job, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of places for P4P other than Colombia? Tijuana is your best bet. Gringos are getting laid over there. Recently they opened my favorite Tijuana club, Hong Kong, and some others but before I could buy my ticket to San Diego, they were closed. You will definitely be able to get laid there in July, perhaps not in the clubs, but there would be tons of street walkers and escorts at affordable prices.

All due respect, but the doormen which are called Porteros will have you marked no later than the third day you are there. The Portero's literally know who's fucking who (almost) in the buildings they work in.

I understand your dilemma, and your best bet is to find a "gringo" friendly place as there are rules for all buildings that the owners and their tenants must follow.

Most Colombians, believe it or not, are very religious and conservative, and although it may not seem that way to mongers, you might encounter other tenants and / or Porteros that could make things miserable for you.

And yes, you want a place with a Portero as it gives you an added layer of protection and where ever you land up, my advice to you is to befriend the Porteros, bring them some snacks or other goodies, it will go a long way for you.

My hope is in September testing is available to the point that if you have a negative test with in 72 hours of arrival, you will be fine to enter. Who knows a lot can happen in 2. 5 months.

Then, if your result is negative (no Covid) you get to go into a secure quarantine for several days, then get re-tested, and after those results you can get out.
