It's not like that. When the shopping malls first opened you had to use an app as a condition of entry. That has since gone away. Step 3 is described in the announcement as "important" and "a way for authorities to make decisions and track health". I did not understand that it is mandatory but I will re-read the announcement. Conspicuous in its absence for me is information about what will the procedures and rules be for people who arrive after September 30.

I believe part of the process requires you, step # 3 on what Mr. E posted that you download the Corona App onto your smartphone besides the PCR test beforehand, and then report the status of your health or something like that. We need more details on this part, maybe the App sends you notifications or something you need to respond to.

"Big Brother" will be with you, and you will be tracked and they will know your whereabouts. It will almost be like being in China, before you know it, anywhere you want to go you will have to have your phone with you to get in and out of places!

However, in Brazil tinder, the amount of trans profiles was exponentially higher.

I think you use it to report your health condition for 14 days after arrival. Other countries do it by SMS or have someone come to your place to take your temperature a couple of times a day.

I can have them come by and check my temperature while I'm in El Centro between sessions.

You would think after a negative COVID test that would be it, hopefully there's no silly monitoring requirements and it's no more than just being able to contact you.

We will all know within a few days as SJobs will be our Guinea pig, and if it isn't too onerous, I will be booking flights.

Seem clear as mud, I guess nobody seems to really know what will be required and what you will have to do for the 14 days they mention. What happens if somebody doesn't have a smart phone like a child or someone who doesn't have one, are they denied entry.

It's a real an invasion of privacy having them being able to track you, etc. Albeit my smartphone stays locked up in my apartment and I carry a burner phone with me. What I do know is they tried the Corona App at three malls in Medellin earlier this year to enter, and it was abandoned after a while. A boner killer for sure to enter a mall, yet in China you almost don't even get to take a piss without using their APP. I don't like the way things are headed with all of this!

Anyways, we all may be stuck with having to utilize the Corona App to get into the Country, and I guess will find out from SJobs and others as they go thru the process.

It's very simple to put it on a smartphone that you leave powered up in your apartment. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. It's just that I don't see a benefit in giving away personal data when you don't have to.

As always, I encourage everyone to consult the official sources to make travel decisions and leave the interpretations and second links via expat groups in the entertainment zone. In this case the second hand report is largely accurate although the use of the coronapp is not explicitly required on the Colombian Immigration website or the Ministry of Transportation web site.

Don't know what quarantine you are referring to. Nothing says you have to quarantine on arrival. I guess if you are in contact with someone that has it you would. That could be triggered on the app you need to use.

Immigration bulletin: for those planning to enter Colombia.

The Director General of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa Palacios, announced the non-requirement of a PCR COVID-19 test for those travelers who arrive in the country on humanitarian or commercial flights before September 30.

Espinosa Palacios clarified that although the requirement for PCR COVID-19 tests will not be made before September 30, travelers who enter from abroad before that date are obliged to take the test once they are in Colombia and must comply with a mandatory isolation measure for fourteen (14) days, which will be supervised by the health authorities of each municipality.

The head of the Colombian immigration authority recalled the importance of filling out the Check-Mig application by travelers to streamline the immigration control process, as well as the obligation to report health status through the Coronapp application, prior to the trip and during the 14 days after it.
