I might not know right from wrong but I do know 30 K is all anyone has to pay in Centro. If you 50 K number includes a hotel room then I'm with you. I've been to a Centro casa or two; I can't think of any that are north of 55 K on the high side for half an hour.

And continue to take the wrong route regardless. If you are in Centro and you are not able to spend $13.00 usd on sex, my suggestion is just stay away from the park, I have seen guys tell me straight up that they will not pay any girl in the park $50,000 pesos, but turn around and complain that the chic at the casa was horrible for $60,000 pesos, I telling you now, you are giving foreigners a bad name when you are too cheap to spend $13.00 usd on the girls, your choice, your money, but you know right from wrong. I don't have your expertise I assume. Here is what I know. A couple of months ago I needed to send an online purchase to a relative's house. I could not remember her address and I could not reach her by phone in time to place the order soon enough to get a promotional price. I used her mobile phone number to look up her postal address on the Internet. It took five to ten minutes. I am neither law enforcement nor an operator (I assume you mean ISP or telecommunications carrier by that). If it were my imagination rather than what really happened then you would be correct.

To be fair, my relative leads a plain vanilla straight arrow life. She has no reason to take the very basic personal privacy steps to prevent me doing what I was able to do. Others who may have reason to secure that sort of information don't always bother to do it or know how to do it.

That's not possible, you guys should stop to express opinions on things you don't know. Unless you are working for an operator and you have special access, or you are the police (and not all the policemen), you can't track a number. Then, just to clarify, is not really triangulation, because they don't need to use the GPS to locate you, they use the cell your phone is connected, and they know, more or less, where you are. They know the area, and that's it, they can't track exactly your position like with the GPS. If someone steal my phone I can't trace it, unless they shut it down. And I can erase the content remotely as soon the phone is connected to the Internet.

Other security considerations you may think of. Assume you are made of glass and even the little shatter will break you. Assume there isn't any law, but a thin veil around you to fool you into thinking law can help you. And also know, when bad folks shoot they don't usually miss. It costs about 300-500 K to borrow a weapon, and 2 mln to buy, and there are actually tens of thousands illegal arms in the city.

At least 90% of robberies in Medellin go unreported. Instead of basing your opinion on the experience of 1 gringo, ask the chicas how many times they've been robbed. Ask how many cell phones they have had stolen. Ask how many people they know who have been stabbed or shot.

The reason I say it is hard to discern is because it also one of the most common ploys chicas use to get extra money from a Gringo, so beware. I've heard the story at least ten times from different girls, maybe half were believable, who knows. The angle is that you will have no way of reaching them to fuck them if they don't have a phone. Say, "Oh well" and move on. Unless you are pussy whipped by this particular chica or you think you are going to marry her, don't be buying cell phones for girls you've fucked. At least the Thai girls don't lie about it, they simply take you shopping and see what you will fork over, jajaja. Chicas will provide cell phones for their relatives, they just keep handing them down as long as there are Gringos out there willing to buy them. I try to include practical tips in my posts when I can: When my Number One girl got her cell phone stolen she was sitting in a cab at a stoplight and her door was unlocked. The cab driver should have locked the doors. The thief opened her door, brandished a knife, and grabbed her phone. Lock your doors and don't keep your windows rolled all the way down when in heavy traffic. The cab driver could be in on it and be setting you up as a mark.

The cops are attacking the end-users to try and combat the number of counterfeit and stolen phones in Colombia. I was walking with my Numero Uno girl and her girlfriend (they are lovers, jeje) in El Centro when the cops did a random stop on us. I am not a techy but chica's cell phone registration was not in her name, they looked it up in real time. They took her to the police station, threw her in a cold damp cell, made her take her shoes off (WTF?) and did not release her until 10 at night, over 8 hours later. She was never arrested, but they kept her phone. The chica bought her phone on the black market, but the cops are not just going after the dealers and distributors. They are punishing the consumers too, hoping to quell demand. Be forewarned.

Also, only carry what you can afford to lose but if possible have at least 400-600 on you to bribe the cops. When I say "bribe" I don't mean American style. A Gringo buddy of mine who is magnet for trouble, twice got rousted by cops who basically let him go after they took all the money in his wallet, without saying a word about it. The bicycle cops on Avenida 70 were notorious for this a while back. Mark one for the argument against shorts, jaja.

Disclaimer: My observations are all still based on a "Pre-Covid" Colombia. Locations, trouble spots, issues may have changed since then for the worse or better. Jaja.

Random Gratuitous Fotos: Same Gringo friend hooked me up with this chica on Halloween night 2019. She is dressed as GI Jane. At first, we did not have a spark but she has one of the most kick ass bodies I've ever fucked so I pursued her a bit. He went there twice In 10 years for the commerce as there are Historically some good stores in the center. 1 of the times coincidentally across the Street from the store he visited there was an ambulance police and news crew present as there had been a shooting half an hour before he arrived.

And whenever a local from Cali needs to buy something from a store in the center they look for alternative stores located in the safe parts of town. And if the local visits the center he uses the In-N-Out tactic. He doesn't waalk around and go sightseeing. So, if you wander into the center is because you're an adventurer, commando, you know what you're doing, You assume the risk, You know how to fit in, and you're not behaving like the safe part of town locals.

I don't know Cali, but in Medellin there are so many soldiers, than no one is touching you during the day en el centro. I tell you that. And on La 70 this night I have seen 20 motorcycles and at least 15 agents of the special force, all in black armed like they were ready to go to war.

Well, sure. And in a big European city someone on a scooter grabbed my phone at a semaphore, when I was checking my mails. I was just fast enough to pinch it, and they didn't get it. It wasn't even me, it was just a reflex. They do these robberies all the time. It's happening everywhere not just in Medellin. A friend of mine got robbed of all his possessions by a girl slept with him in Portugal. So what? Be careful in Medellin like in any other country, included the one you are living in.

I will continue to tell any monger who wants to venture into Park Botero, Vera Cruz, and Park Berrios, have your wits about you. I have been in Medellin for 8 months, Centro is the place that I spend most of my time, if there was ever a target to rob, they would have robbed me by now. Do not make yourself a target, I can only give you warnings, if you have no street sense and you have never been in a scuffle, stay away from Centro at the current time. I have met about 8 Mongers in the past 8 months and everyone of them were older than me and everyone of them were not happy with what Centro offered them. If you know you want 18-20 year skinny chics who could pass for European, please stick with the agencies. I will leave it at that, you mongers know who you are and what you want, Centro may not be the place for you if you have very specific wants and needs, and the mongers I have met, really were particular on age, look, and weight! This is a good post. I personally like el centro, and I never felt in danger. But I'm a suspicious, I walk around with a killer look, I do not give any confidence, I do not let anyone near me, not even a meter close. And I do speak Spanish.
