I have just checked the Ministry of Health department, Colombia website and it says that the PCR test is not required as it is impossible for so many travelers to get PCR test done and impossible for health officials to check the PCR results.

The only thing certain in Colombia is uncertainty. Today's news offered conflicting reports about testing. If I were a betting person, I'd bet that a test requirement will soon be necessary if not already in effect now. Note that the ICU capacity in Medellin is over 80% and worse in Bogota, I think. This is not a good time to travel. Pico why cedula is still in effect and my guess is that weekend lockdowns will continue. Plus, your health! Typically, the government doesn't announce measures until the last minute making planning futile. The New Year's lockdown was extended from 1 day to 2.5 days the day before the lockdown.

Is this 100% officially confirmed and in force right now? Please be careful posting this type of info and scare mongering as MR E states there is no starting date?

I'm travelling on Thursday morning and transiting through the Netherlands and then direct to Colombia. The Netherlands is requiring a negative PCR test even for a 1 hour transit so I booked my test for Tuesday with a 24 hour turn around with a bit of time to spare in case of any complications and I timed my test in a way that if Colombia does change the requirements my test would still be within any potential time frame.

So guys by the time I take my test to the time I board my first connecting flight it will be 42 hours since my test, I take it I would be well covered if this new law gets enforced?

This is such a stressful time to travel as the rules change on a whim.

I'm not sure, but spirit airlines has updated the requirements on their travel requirements portion of the website. I have a flight scheduled for Wednesday morning so now I'm not sure what to do.

It's only a 3 day trip and it says a 2 week quarantine is required, I'm assuming they don't hold you past your departure date correct? I don't mind being quarantined to my apartment for 3 days as all I was doing was coming to fuck and eat anyway. Assuming you're still allowed to stay in your apartment LOL.

I have no idea really, was afraid something like this would happen on a whim.

Thanks much Mr. E for posting the link with the new entry requirements. Looks like either bring a negative PCR test or a do a 14 day quarantine or get tested after arrival to escape the quarantine.

"In addition, travelers who state that they could not take the test or the result of the same did not leave on time, must perform a mandatory preventive isolation of 14 days, once they enter Colombia, and must perform a PCR test that confirm that you do not have the virus. The costs of the sample and of the isolation will be in charge of each traveler. ".

UPDATE.
There is nothing on the Migracion Colombia website. The article stated they found out they might have misinformed the public.

SPIRIT AIRLINES SAID THERE IS CURRENTLY NO NEGATIVE TEST RESULT REQUIRED, and that if the policy / law were to change, they would be notified with ample time to communicate with future passengers, adjust flight schedules, etc.

So, I'm winging it. Worst case scenario, I am stuck in FLL for a day or two, figuring out the test and a flight change. I really can't imagine that on Sunday evening news comes out that is immediately into effect. That has not been standard operating procedure, throughout all this bullshit.

I will try to remember to post an update from FLL on Tuesday morning, and another, HOPEFULLY, upon getting through customs in MDE.

I don't mean to scare people with possible click bait, but if you're in a position like me, this shit is important to track. If anyone can find the post with the PCR test results attachment, or has one of their own, feel free to share. I might try to doctor something up just to have on-hand. I'm not spending $350 and an entire day to get one if I'm not 100% sure it's necessary.

Typically most newcomers to this board read the forum going back away to get a sense of pricing at the different venues which apparently you haven't done as of yet, as I believe another poster told you to RTFF and you know what that stands for.

As far as your analogy that an old guy might be charged more than an OK looking guy, well that's not how it works, the women are working to make as much money as they can, with age and looks hardly ever being the deciding factor for them.

You said in one of your posts you were contemplating coming to Medellin versus Tijuana. The differences are like night and day between the two venues, and hands down Medellin has Tijuana beat, and I live two hours from there, but it's such a shithole I hardly visit anymore, albeit the food is great.

A lot of these girls at Gustos are seasoned and smart. Depending on the age and intelligence of the girl.

Some girls will go after the older guy cause they know they have a better chance of a longer term arrangement rather than a young guy who certainly just wants to have her for one night while his judgment is completely impaired by all the drinking etc.

I had no luck fining one in Poblado in November and again no luck for my trip this week. I'm staying in San Peter apartments in Laureles again. It girl friendly and the location is great. Its a short taxi to llerras.

It's the most obvious chica friendly place and there are units under 100 a night.

I posted the above link previously. Following is the section that pertains to Medellin. The article lists restrictions for all the major cities in CO. No test is required to enter CO.
