We did this a month ago when the judge originally issued his order. Then, as now, there was extensive hand wringing and unofficial link sharing, even though the President and Minister of Health said there would be no new test requirement. I won't try to convince anyone other than to point out that the airlines and the Colombia immigration and health ministry web sites are better spurces for this information.

    La Isla

Has anyone been back to La Isla recently? How is it? The last time I visited was over a year ago.

You might want to check again. My understanding is that currently a PCR test is required again. For people whose flights are too soon to get a test, or who are already enroute, they will be required to quarantine for 14 days and get a PCR test at their own expense.

I don't know if this is being enforced at the airports yet, but unless some other directive is issued, I would expect it.

Like the TV show, are you smarter than a 5th grader? We should start a thread.
Yes. Smart. Let's clear up your first mistake. Literacy is the result of education. Intelligence is intrinsic.

The rest of your education really needs to wait until you have been to Colombia, although it's unlikely you'll learn much. While there are certainly many working girls in Medellin who are poorly educated, there are also many who are not only well educated, but quite intelligent and capable of holding their own in any conversation.

However, what Sangnyc21 was referring to is the ability of the women to successfully conduct their business. They are skilled. They have experience. They've learned what works. They know how to survive.

That last one is something most of the people who frequent this board have never had to learn. We're mostly people who are on the phone complaining about the air conditioner or the lack of hot water. We're the ones complaining about girls charging $150 for something that would cost us $300-$1000 at home. We're the ones complaining that not enough people in other countries speak our language. We complain about people being 30 minutes late. Our survival skills are challenged when Walmart runs out of toilet paper.

Take the average monger from this board (yes, I know there are exceptions) and put him in the situation most of the "semi illiterate 3rd world putas" live in and he would be calling for an Uber out of there within 30 minutes. Most would not be able to walk to the store without having a panic attack.

The girls who are selling pussy today are the children and grandchildren of women who grew up in some of the most dangerous and poorest neighborhoods of Medellin when Medellin was the most dangerous city in the world. You'll have a tough time finding one who hasn't been the victim of an armed robbery. Most have lost a close friend or family member to violence. Most grew up without luxuries like hot water. Some grew up without running water. Most of the girls see stuff every week that would have every self-proclaimed "alpha male" on ISG curled up in the fetal position with wet pants and crying for mommy.

Yet, there they are, smiling, all made up and strutting around Gusto like they just stepped out of a limo.

I'd say anyone who can come out of an $80 per month apartment, cross half a city and end up getting paid 1 month of the minimum salary for spending a few hours in a $100 per night room, is a helluva lot smarter than most people.

She blocked you, not just deleted your number. When someone blocks you, you no longer can see that person's profile photo and your messages can no longer get delivered (you will see only 1 check mark, not 2). Also you no longer see that person's online status.

    My Advice on testing

Probably the smartest thing to do is too just plan on getting the PCR test before travelling versus waiting to see what happens.

As an example, when I came down in November I got the PCR test the day before my flight and the day of my flight it was lifted, hence the PCR test could officially become a requirement very quickly and you would think with at least 72 hours notice. Regardless of this, the collector / keeper of the PCR tests is Colombia Migracion so I suspect the official source of when it's going to be actually required will appear on their website versus what everybody is reading in the news. Apparently the health minister wants the PCR testing, but it has not been agreed to or maybe is now with the President and immigration.

It's high season now for tourism, we had the holidays, but now the Virus is starting to surge again, the Holidays are behind us, and with the COVID surge Colombia might be going back to more lockdown mode (s) as is happening in parts of Bogota. Hopefully Medellin won't be as affected.

So again, and I know the PCR test with expedited turnaround time can be expensive, guys thinking of coming down within the next month should just have it in hand, that's at least what I intend to do. The thought of having to chase down a PCR test in Medellin and potentially being quarantined is not worth it.

Thanks for the tip on the PCR-test Slapshot, I'm going to need a test for re-entry into Europe it seems. My trip is coming to a close, I'll be heading home on the 6th. The curfews during Christmas and New Years was a pain in the ass to be honest. I managed to have some repeats from SA come over some of the days, so it wasnt a complete loss for me, but I definitely look forward to doing this whole thing again with vaccines in the population.

Good job on Catsjustwantfun BTW, she's a looker. As soon as the holidays were over my contact list was jumping, so the girls probably spent all their cash on gifts, food, booze and presents, and now they need to refill. I've scheduled morning and evening encounters for all of my remaining days, minus tonight. I thought I'd do a Lleras walkabout in the evening, to get that experience in as well before I leave.

It's been a great trip, and I'll definitely be coming back after beefing up my Spanish. The one thing that caught me off guard was the coffee situation. I'm in Colombia, and restaurants and coffee shops are trying to serve me Americanos? I expect that in Thailand, but I wasn't prepared for it to be impossible to get properly brewed coffee in Colombia. Fortunately all the Airbnb's seem to be stocked with a coffee machine, but it felt stupid having to suck down 3 cups of coffee before heading out to breakfast.

However, TODAY, January 4, Spirit told me something different than they did 12 hours ago. Now, they have been notified a negative test result is "required" - if you do not have one, you can enter but will be "required" to quarantine for 14 days. I would assume being in a hotel would be worse, for this, in terms of them caring more about you following the rules. Even the known gringo short-time apartments might be more inclined to follow the rules, in this case. Nonetheless, you can get a PCR in Colombia, and with a negative result, your quarantine restriction is negated. I'm assuming this would be far more cost-effective, and save a hell of a lot of time and stress, prior to leaving (Edit: 220.000 COP for a 48-72hr PCR test result + 13.000 domicilio fee to do it in your apt/hotel, Mo-Th. +573154677121 on WhatsApp). As a tip, I would not carry my passport anywhere. If you are stopped by police, and have done nothing wrong, say you arrived Jan 1 or Dec 20, or whatever you want. This is not coming from a lawyer, just my opinion of what I would/will do.

Now, given we are talking about Colombia and there seems to be some ambiguity, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if I was waved through at customs or told I couldn't enter the country.

Due to Covid late night noise is no longer a problem at San Peters Apartments. The police close down all the bars between midnight and 1 AM. So it then goes quiet. In normal times it's very noisy until between 3 and 4 AM.

A really good-looking SA girl messaged me on WhatsApp, last night. I noticed I already had her number, and our brief conversation had fizzled-out, last time. It was after I had already departed Colombia, so you know what type of girl I'm talking about. No B$, straight cash homie. Well, her profile says Prefer Not To Say under Children. I asked right away. She said, "Yes, is that a problem?" I said, "Maybe, maybe not. " Her profile photo disappeared haha (meaning, she deleted my number). I think we reached an understanding within about 74 seconds of chatting. /catshavefun on SA.

Blakretariat, what happened to you? Have you been put out to pasture? Mix in a f'ing report, with all this PCR and SA talk!
