So, I land in Medellin from Cartagena at around 8:30 pm. I've been living in Medellin for a couple of months now, and II only went to Cartagena for the long weekend, and I've missed me some fo that easy Medellin access. So I get home, shower, change, and what do I do? I head to La Isla.

Now, it's my first time in La Isla. But I wanted to go big after the Cartagena frustrations, so why not. I get there, and the place has more women than chairs. I mean, wow.

To get to the main story: this chick comes by, and starts flirting. While we're sitting, the chick that was just dancing on stage comes by, asks for a tip. I dig into the pocket, and the smallest bill is a 5 mil. I pay it. The dancer leaves. Then I go back to talking to the chick that was with me. I decide I don't want to go with her. Is she my type? Migracion wanted to see passport and checkmig form. He asked my where I'm staying and for how long.

That was it. Nothing about PCR.

I saw on FB that a guy recently arrived and they told him they would begin the PCR or Quarantine restriction on Jan 12, but I have not had any time to verify that.

Back in heaven but with a fucking gong show of an apartment. They fucking place didn't even have pillows! They rushed to get it "ready" and the owner supposedly didn't know it's condition. I slept 3 hours since Sunday, going into last night, thanks to Spirit Airlines. All I wanted was a decent night sleep, and I arrived to no pillows, the loudest A / see in the world, no blinds / drapes, a mattress that feels like the floor, and a blanket that feels like a rug. Good times. Jacuzzi was almost overflowing with water and had shit all over the seats / bottom..

Those are my favorite type of flights. Short layovers. It only takes them 15 minutes or less to get your bags from one plane to the next. FLL is a small airport. 10 minutes tops once you get off the plane and walk to your next boarding station. You should be fine.

This wasn't my experience at FLL, I had to go to a different terminal for a connecting flight on Jetblue and I agree the short layovers are great, but Spirit from wherever in the USA to Fll for a one hour layover I still think is a crapshoot.

Attached is new curfew and dry law days and hours. Too lazy to translate it all, but this weekend is a 3 day holiday weekend (Colombia has lots of random holidays), so dry law starts Friday to Monday. Just some info for those heading here this week. I've been here 2 months and no curfew or dry law or however many covid strains going to stop this chino paisa from getting his party on haha.

Depending on what sketchy Internet source you use, and your definitions (bank holidays vs church holidays, etc) Colombia falls somewhere from First to Third for most national holidays of any country in the world. Seems like there is at least one three-day weekend every month, probably more than that since I believe the number of holidays is in the upper teens, not verified.

Well, after an hour f walking around La Isla, and getting bedazzled by the stuff over there, I decide you know what? Sure this girl is a little old, but at least she deserves it, and she's familiar to me. Plus, she seems to know absolutely everybody in the club--this will be a good first introduction to La Isla. I find her. She's a little drunk at this point, but I go with her nonetheless. I pay the 300 mil house fee, and we go to the room.
