As a gringo, should I stay away from el centro all together.

Have you been to la 33? If so, would you recommend that area?

I do not have any direct experience with La 33 but I have researched it a little and other BMs have commented about it before. It obviously depends on what you are going for. La 33 is not a place to go looking for prostitutes for sure. It is probably not even a gringo would go hoping to pick up a non-pro because the culture is different in Colombia and the girls go out to hang out with their friends and not meet guys, the meeting of girls and guys is done in a different way there, usually through friends etc, though I am sure that there are also more spontaneous ways like getting a girls number you see at the gym or the mall etc. But in general they do not go out to the restaurants and clubs to meet guys.

La 33 , like La 70 is a place where locals go to dine, drink and dance. With a spattering of a few tourist who want to get a true local vibe. It is a good place to see plenty of eye candy but unless you are at least conversational in Spanish you are not going to mix in very well. La 33 nor La 70 are as gritty as El Centro but then again no place in Medellin is guaranteed to be safe, those assholes that ride around in pairs on motorcycles and one jumps off the back with a gun or knife and robs you have been reported in every neighborhood. This is not terribly often but it gets reported in every neighborhood. One suggestion I have read on here that makes the best sense to me is to carry a dummy phone (an old phone that does not have to work) and a dummy wallet with like 100 k and some bullshit business cards in it. These guys seem to hit fast and then try to flee the scene quickly so they are not going to check the function of the phone etc.

I've been lingering here since 2019, I come twice a year. I've noticed that the quality of girls at parque Lleras is down. Even the girls at Gustos and Lleras park is low, most are unattractive, a few are cute, but at max I see 3-4 girls a night where I'm like wow. At Gustos last night I saw maybe one girl and a backup that I might consider taking home, but they were both busy with other clients. At Lleras park bar, there was 1 but again busy. Obviously it's preference, but has anyone noticed something similar. The park it self had very low quality girls.

A lot of the hot girls are traveling to other countries and the hot fb girls are getting over paid.

Never been to la 33, don't know what that is tbh.

Like knowledge says, there's all kinds of gringos. I've never had a problem, I look ethnic, but born in the states. At night after 8 pm I stay away as all the junkies get rabid for their fix, but during the day it's not too bad if you're used to ethnic parts of big cities like LA or NYC.
Best bet is to walk around and see for yourself if you feel comfortable. If not, just stick to the casas.

Let's first be clear, both robberies were done by men disguised as police and is under active investigation. Poblado is a big tourist and business section not just in Medellin but all of Colombia. There are many foreigners with their families living there. One only has to walk on a Sunday to see expat families either walking, biking or roller skating when they close traffic on Sunday mornings. It has some very good high end restaurants and bars and no I am not referring to the prostitution park known as Parque Lleras. There is no way Poblado can be compared to ElCentro. Or to even insinuate el Centro is just as safe or safer. El Centro is not for everyone. It takes a certain type of monger to enjoy that style.

This must be an inside job. Maybe someone working at the hotel or a chica that was invited to the room saw high priced items carelessly displayed.

After seeing the items, whoever notified criminal friends and devised a plan to steal the goods. The front desk personnel may also be part of the plot and shares in the heist.

I think you are not following your own advice. The last two you posted seem very seasoned based on their wide open friend lists and their age. It will be tough to do it for two month if you are very selective.

I am not surprised some chicas charging higher prices. Mongers are paying gringo prices for other stuff, so why not chicas? From my experience, it always seem to be the older ones or the ones that have been around for a while like the ones you posted. It only takes one smart chica to figure out they can charge higher prices, then the rest will follow or at least try. FB is an inefficient medium so this is one way they can make more money.

By inefficient, I mean like Bangkok is efficient, the freelancer places are steps away from the hotels. When all girls charge the same price, the prettier ones will get more business per night and make more money. They will make more money at lower price than they will charging higher price. When they don't want to fuck too many men, they are going to choose their customers.

Here the thing.

I have a select few I pay 500 mil and up.

But these fb girls that I know for a fact are banging for 200-250 mil are now acting as if they're too good for it.

If these girls were actually worth the money with performance and looks I wouldn't complain.

But these fb girls for me are my daily exercise.

And I don't expect nothing special as far as looks.

But this trip in particular average girls are charging high prices and offering mediocre services.

I'the rather pay my model 500 mil and she'll lick my ass and balls all day with a smile.

Welp, they robbed more foreigners at another hotel in El Poblado this week. Don't all you Lleras guys show up in El Centro at once. It is much more dangerous at Parque Botero.
