I am based out of the US and currently in India for work. I have a set procedure for mongering in the US and was not sure about the Indian scene. And buying a membership here is tricky since my better half has access to my credit card statements and any out of the ordinary expenses will raise an eyebrow. So, anyway, coming to the embarrassing and anger inducing event that happened today:

I got done with work pretty early and wanted to monger out for the first time since I moved to Noida. I do not speak Hindi (but am an Indian) and I contacted this SP (number ending in 811) I found on Skokka. He seemed to converse in broken English, which was a relief to me since none of the others I contacted seemed to even want to converse in English. He sent a bunch of pictures which were too good to be true. I confirmed with him plenty of times asking if he is sure that the girls he showed in the picture were actually available. He confirmed and asked me to come to the atta metro station. I went there and he shared my contact with his so called driver (number ending in 934) who came in less than fifteen minutes of me reaching there. And he got down from the car and demanded the money (5 k for 3 hours). I waited till the girl got down from the car and she was wearing a mask. I asked him to remove mask to confirm if she was the same girl. He said can't remove mask since it is covid and all kind of crap. And by that time I got a little annoyed since I was in the mood for some action and not ready to argue with the "driver". So got the girl to climb inside my car so that she could direct me to her place. That was the first red flag. I was surprised since I thought I was going to go with them to the place. Along with this girl another one climbed inside the car out of nowhere and started saying we have to go to a hotel and for that we need a refundable deposit of 5 k. I was sure I was caught in a scam by then and wanted to get out. I finally asked them to remove the mask or get out of the car. Finally they removed the masks and I was annoyed and angry to the max to say the least. They were absolutely horrendous looking with a definite herpes sore on one of the girl's lips. I asked them to get out and wasn't interested. They started shouting and creating a scene saying I was rude and did not know how to treat a woman. I was furious by this point and called the "driver" and asked him to come get the girls. He refused and the girls started demanding "Cancellation fees" of 2.5 k since if they go without service, their time will get wasted. By this time I was so angry that I wanted to kick the faces of these ridiculous women. But they had gotten down from the car and started shouting obscenities and I was bloody embarrassed to even stay there. So just threw away 2.5 k and drove away from there.

This is my first time trying to monger here and faced a loss of 7.5 k for basically nothing. This was such a bad experience and though that 7. 5 k is not much a financial loss personally, I feel so angry that I got cheated in such a naive manner. And to feel that I have mongered in seven countries with no negative experience makes me seethe even more in anger.

Is there any way to get back at these frauds?
