There are no networks left that are only 3G or earlier. There are no phones left that are only CDMA or only GSM. All phones made in the last few years have a multi-band modem supporting all networks. All you need to worry about anymore is that your phone is not "locked" because you bought it on a monthly contract plan from your service provider. Personally I buy a new one each year or two at Ktronix in Pablado for about $100 worth of pesos. Like Surfer my real phone is always in the room safe.

You might try shopping at Centro Comercial Monterrey, right across from the Poblado metro station. There are probably 30 stores selling phones in there. It's about the best place around to get good prices on electronics.

I had a discussion with my gringo buddy this morning about this topic and he is finally coming around to the truths about life and culture and women here in Medellin.

So how to enjoy life here in Medellin? It is simple just follow these few basic fundamentals:

1. Never ever take any woman serious, period and end of discussion.

2. They are what they are, what their ingrained culture has placed into their DNA. You can not change them.

3. A barrio xxxxx, and my gawd we all love them, can never ever go outside her social economic status, so don't try, it will never work.

4. They all fuck around, they call them their gay amigos or primos or just a old school friend but they have and will return to their old fuck buddies, even the ladrones from the barrio because water seeks it's own level..

All of the above is something everyone should keep in mind. I won't say it applies 100% to every chica, but it helps to keep your perspective. Once you lose that perspective, it can get expensive real quick.

The problem is prepaid SIM in some countries only support 3 G.

I am pretty sure this is inaccurate so I decided to look it up. These iPhone models are GSM only Model A1778, A1905, MWMC2 B / A. The last one is iPhone 11.

I have not used Verizon or Spring for a while so my understanding maybe wrong. If the network support LTE, then it is supposed to work. If the network is 3 G or earlier, then it may not work because Verizon is on CDMA while others are on GSM. If you have a phone that supports both, then it will always work. It is easy to experiment. So your saying that a Verizon phone will work in Colombia with a local SIM card? I heard something different from another poster about this. But for guys with two phones that's very handy not needing to buy another phone in Colombia and get hammered by Verizon for $ 10 USD day. Regardless, my I phone doesn't leave my place, it's my lifeline to the USA, and I have a back-up I phone as well. The biggest issue is losing an American cell phone in Colombia and not being able to get the number back, hence my phones stay locked up, and having two phones, one as your lifeline, and the other as your mongering phone is the way to go.

Over the years Verizon phones have changed but it still depends on the actual model of the phone, I used Verizon for years and my phone would used be be useless in Colombia. I had a cheap Chinese Galaxy clone dual SIM I used to carry down there. It did not work because not only does / did Verizon us CDMA technology but Verizon had them locked. Then when Google made the first deal with Verizon to sell their Google Pixel Phone they required that Verizon sell the phone "unlocked". Google was also selling the phone themselves in their Google Store so each phone is made as a multi band to work on any network. Now other phones have followed and I am fairly sure that all phones made by major manufacturers that sell through Verizon are multiband and work on most networks. Google Pixel phones also have the capability of being dual SIM because they have an eSIM capabilty, so when I am traveling I can keep my original number in case people at home are trying to contact me, and I download an eSIM from Google Fi to use when traveling because they do not charge for roaming and the data is reasonable. This is really handy if you are traveling to more than one country. I am posting an image of the description of a Galaxy S21 5 G, Apple iPhone SE (2020), ad the cheapo Galaxy A01 . All that being said, I am not going to argue with your reasoning of having one phone locked up for your lifeline and carrying a monger phone. It is a safe way to go. I would suggest to anyone that wanted a travel phone to go online and find a phone that works on Colombia's networks. According to medellinguru dot com -

For people that travel between multiple countries I suggest finding a phone that advertises as dual SIM and "quad band" or "global phone" etc because these work in most countries.

Lastly if a person is traveling between different countries and wants flexibility, if you do the research on compatible phones they could look at buying a used cell phone that is compatible with Google Fi, cost for service is 20 USD per month for service then 10 USD per GB data, there are no contracts so I cancel after one month, the advantage is no matter which country you land in you can use the same SIM and at most have to turn your phone off and on to lock into a signal when you land in a different country, I have used Google Fi in the Colombia, UK, Mexico, France, Spain, and the Czech Republic. The last three all in the same trip and the same SIM.

I personally know many Rich women whom you'd consider alphas that are dating poor men. A good acquaintance of mine is in her early 40, looks 30, rich with multiple own businesses. And now dating a buddy of mine who's only 26 yrs old, has no college edu and only couple hundreds in the bank.

Being an Alpha has nothing to do with money. I consider my buddy also an Alpha, cause he's confident, works out and women falls for him, and dude is funny as hell.
