Well I'm not sure what prompted you to write your report, but am assuming it is to warn others of the dangers of El Centro. For all the guys that got jacked up and robbed you mentioned, well they totally deserved it for being such morons.

Dangers abound everywhere in El Centro in the daytime, but much more so in the evening. It amazes me that guys would come into the Raudal area and have the DJ's play tunes for them. Colombia is not the DR where that could happen with no consequence. Again, total fucking idiots as you have pointed out, and they deserve what they had coming.

El Centro can be a goldmine if navigated properly, even by obvious foreigners, but it isn't for most.

So the answer to your question is, it will depend on who's working the front desk.

Additionally, your better off to carry a color copy of your Passport along with a photocopy of the date of entry into the Country. With this you should not be denied entry anywhere at a short time Hotel, and the PP is one of the few that does checks ID's. Also, others have reported that lots of places are requiring the Venezuelans have copies of their Passports to get into places but these are overnight Hotels. Next time ask the girls before you go with them whether they have a Cedula for the Colombians, or a Passport for the Venezuelans before you go with them. And if they don't, and they appear to be older and of legal age, ask them where to go, but I personally will not go to any of the short time hotels without hot water, towels, and are clean. I may have low standards, but am not going to use the use the 5 and 6 K scabie / bed bug infested rooms unless it's for a blowjob with only my dick sticking out of my pants, but I haven't done that in a while.

Also I advise against carrying your cell phone with you if it's an American cell phone. I hope this information helps.

The police advised him to drop it and go because she could press charges.

3) Young guy speaks Spanish and thinks every local is his friend because he speaks Spanish and tries to talk to all the locals. Got robbed near Nutribara Hotel which is super busy with traffic and people. But the robbers were just practicing because this guy is broke. Lucky if they got 30,000 COP.

4) Large 6 foot guy had a machete placed at his neck and relieved of phone and money.

5) 2 week millionaire meets some Centro tourists and goes Raudal bar hopping. Idiot is with idiot number 1 and 3 listed above plus one other. 4 total. The plus 1 and idiot 3 above leave early because they have little money. Guy number 1 listed above leaves around 11:00 PM. So this guy is flashing his phone. He was a wad of around 2,000,000 COP ($560). Guesstimate made by the 3 guys with him. But the clincher is he is paying the DJ guys at the different bars to play rap music at the Raudal bars thus pissing every guy off at these bars. I have never heard any tourist type music (rap, rock, pop, country, classical, etc.) ever walking past these bars. Local Colombian music only. The last guy to leave him tries to call him the next day and the day after that with no answer and has never returned to Centro for a visit with the 3 guys that went with him. 8 days have now past. You know he got robbed of everything.

6) Corner park Carrera 53 and Calle 54. Plaza Rojas Pinilla. Raudal area. Saturday the 6th. Just missed a shooting. Saw 20 police, police dog, and taped off area. Looks as if 6 people were injured from the article. Hard to find info since I know zero Spanish.
