Medellin or La Jonquera? I'm trying to decide on my next trip, and the current choices are Medellin and La Jonquera. Has anyone visited both? Pros / cons of each, including the economics- price of girls as well as lodgings and food? Spain has an edge right now due to some of the cultural aspects, but Medellin is tried and true and never disappoints. Thoughts?

Any update on this information? The Colombian website still says it's required as of early this morning, anybody with new news about, usually MR E is up on this stuff and most of time correct, not that's is a deal breaker anymore because it's so easy to go get tested with no lines in Florida as of the moment, was in and out of (done in car throat swabbed) in less then 15 min and results back very next day via text results!

Should you choose to become a Centro rat, this is the fate that awaits you. The photo shows real live providers at Ground Zero, unobscured faces and all. I did not bother to obscure their faces because they work the Botero / Veracruz stroll on a daily basis. No shame in their game.
So drinking game alert, take a shot for each time you reckon Pollo Negro or Surfer have been with any of them. But seriously, consider how dolled up these girls could be with the benefit of an hour or two with Slapshot's credit card. Full disclosure, confession of a Centro rat, I may have smashed in more than one case.

Posts: 3802Whenever I go out of town for an overnight trip, like to Santa Fe or San Geronimo, yes I do take my main phone with me, and am super careful with it as I don't take my laptop, and need to be connected. But for a day trip only, if you have a local phone I wouldn't bother taking your main phone.

Very diplomatic of you Surfer, to compliment Sammy and analyze the pros and cons of his methods. However there's about as many pros to it as there are to jumping in a swamp full of aligators. "Yea the water's nice and warm, moonlight through the trees, lots of nice folk here if you know how to play the game. " LOL.

Posts: 261Surfer thanks for the advice. Sounds like it might be better to stick to zona rosa, hot water, towels, porn on the TV and around a 3 hour limit in the room as well as no ID check. As for vennies, in April I'll be staying in an apartment without a portero because that really spoiled my fun last time, although I won't be taking randoms back to my apartment, only chicas I trust and have road tested first.

About the cellphone, mine along with my bank cards normally don't leave the room. I only take some small cash for the day and a cheap burner phone for ordering ubers and collecting numbers, can't afford to lose my main phone. From reading some of your reports I think your security routine is about the same as mine but I'm wondering, if you go on a day trip, for example Guatapé, do you take your main phone with you?

Posts: 3802It's not totally clear yet on this, it was a court ruling that was made, not s decree by the Colombian Government. And I think the Government would be foolish to drop the testing requirement at this time given what's occurring in Italy and Brazil because of the new variants. The last thing anybody want's is the return to the weekend shutdowns. It's one thing to have late night curfews, but lockdowns during the day or starting early evening is not good.

Posts: 3802Yes, befriending the locals by buying them booze goes a long way, and you were able to work the El Centro scene, and able to reap the rewards of that, however your an exception. Very few members here would be comfortable walking around El Centro late at night, and it sounds as though your experience was a "cake walk" for you.

I personally fall into that category, but I don't walk around El Centro late at night because whether I'm a foreigner or not, and whether I can pass as a local or not, everybody walking around there is prey.
I believe it's relatively safe to be out late at night, such as in front of the bars around Avenida De La Grief and other areas where there are lots of people out. But outside of heavily populated areas not a good idea.
Something I am sure your cognizant of, is that it's one thing to be-friend the locals, and it can open doors for you, yet word will get out about you, and your fortune could change in a heartbeat. I befriend people all the time, but not in El Centro.
You sound very experienced, yet most guys on this board won't stay where you stayed and be out late at night, versus the idiots mentioned in the previous post being totally clueless of their surroundings and ignorant, hence they got jacked up, and rightly so for being pompus.

Word is that the Covid test is no longer needed to enter Colombia.
"porque las entidades sanitarias argumentaban que la circulación del virus en su momento ya era libre en todo el mundo y no solo en los aeropuertos"... Duhhh

Someone posted a Youtube video that mentioned this, and said a lot of it was people getting their cell phones jacked on Botero Plaza, although evidently one guy got stuck with a knife. The last I heard the cops were coming back along with the tourists.

I was out many nights into the wee hours, and have walked through much of El Centro late. It's no more or less dangerous than any other city of that size at that time of night, which is to say you can find yourself in a bad situation quickly. I had the good fortune of being befriended by the block jefe the first night, which not only offered a lot of protection but some great partying right outside the door of the hotel. One tip- you'd be amazed how far the gift of a bottle or two of aguadiente to some of the regulars in your orbit. For five or ten bucks you can not only tap into the community, but you'd be surprised how eagerly tips on when to catch the hottest ladies or the odd local goodies are shared. Just don't be a dar papaya- low hanging fruit.

So nice to see a natural paisa ass- I can't imagine how a plastic surgeon could improve on that! I envy that tattoo artist as well. That had to be a good day's work, that. On a side note, don't you love the pubic art in Medellin?
