I went to La Jonquera in 2018 but I didn't plan a trip to La Jorquera per se, I was already going to be in Barcelona for vacation and made a side trip to La Jonquera (train from Barcelona to Figueres-Vilafant, then a taxi. There is a que right outside the station, about thirty minutes to Club Paradise), which even ended up regretting because for me that town just seems like a huge truck stop. I wish I had researched it more. I spent 70 euro ST on an exceptional looking Romanian and she would not do BBBJ and that alone was a downer.

I went there because I had heard about Club Paradise having like 100 girls working there and it being one of the biggest working girl houses in the world, so I was curious and it seemed like a worthy side trip at the time. And it might be to other people, but just a trip to La Jonquera and no where else would not be for me. If strip clubs and casas are you thing and you plan to do absolutely nothing else on you trip like enjoy culture and find good restaurants (there is no culture and no good restaurants in an overgrown truck stop), La Jonquera as a town is desolate and to me it was like one huge truck stop but the cat houses are at the southern terminus of the "town" and the village part of the town but it is a very small village and there are not a lot of restaurant choices there. Its primary function is really for the French that are in driving distance, to then it is similar to Tijuana is to people in southern California, it is place within driving distance that has cat houses.

Your a better man then me, why you waste of breath on a unappreciated piece of crap but I know why already, if he doesn't appreciate it I have learned (and others) a bit from it if ever that area I would not waste my time going, thanks for the heads up and your insight about that city.

If huge cat houses are someone's thing and they want to spend all day in there at 50 to 80 euros per half hour with a girl and do nothing outside of that then have at it, but it is not my thing. I just felt like I spent money for a train and taxi and the better part of the day traveling (I did not want to spend the night after seeing how small the place was) but Medellin has cheaper hoes ( I personally have over 1500 contacts in Medellin which is way more than all the cat houses in La Jonquera) - they are cheaper by a lot, and Medellin has cool neighborhoods to explore like La 70, La 33, Poblado/Provenza, Envigado when not otherwise preoccupied

This also was before Coronavirus shut everything down in Spain, so I wonder where all those girls have been during this shit, those girls are not exactly locals, the girl I was with said the she had to pay 2000 euro a month to live at the cat house in La Jonquera so one can only speculate on what the situation is, did they stay or did they go back to their home countries, will they all come back once the restrictions are lifted, all remains to be known,

Are you saying that you find it odd that there are a large group of foreigners in Centro? Do these foreigners seem to be mongering. I have heard that because Europe and Asia essentially shut down (my understanding is that Thailand has test requirement and a 14 day quarantine, the test has to be 72 hours before) Medellin is over ran by mongers who might otherwise be in these places, I have no ideal if this case but its a theory that makes some sense.

Are you saying that you find it odd that there are a large group of foreigners in Centro? Do these foreigners seem to be mongering. Actually there have been government subsidies and special payments, albeit not on the level of what's been paid in North America and Europe. The reason it is not much of a crime deterrent in Centro is many of the denizens are not eligible because of nationality or because they have been off the grid size birth. A practical tip I can offer is try to avoid having passersby at your back. You will notice girls and their hangers on tend to keep their backs against walls, trees, or the sculptures. It helps prevent you being surrounded and caught unawares. Situational awareness is your friend in Centro.

I think the handle charm city dave gives me the ultimate authority on Baltimore and I knew Central well (pre-pandemic anyway). I used to go to Centro all the time (during the day) though haven't been in about a year. I used to have an office in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore but haven't gone into the city since Freddie Gray. The cops in Baltimore now offer NO protection will just roll up after the incident and take a report. The thugs know it. Every other punk is strapped.

There are many plainclothes national police and officers from the adolescent, family and child welfare brigade in addition to the many uniformed police. The area is also blanketed by closed circuit television cameras.

Parque Botero has the highest concentration of cops I have seen anywhere in Colombia. And they are in groups. Ordinary Colombians love to go there to get pictures by the fat statues. For some reason women love to give this guy a hand job as you can see there is no tarnish on his junk. Go a couple of blocks in the wrong direction and you could be in trouble.

There is no any good deal at El Centro- I saw it in 20 years. There are only schemes, tricks, and violence. There is no reason why gringos should come to the area. Girls and other funs are available at other areas for similar prices.

Gringos and Foreigners shouldn't go to the areas where they do not belong. If you are person at the wrong place and at the wrong time, then you are inviting yourself trouble. It does not matter how strong or big you are. The people are professional criminals at parque botero and its their day and night chore to rob and stab. Usually, the gang come from four directions and two people hold you from behind and few surround you, emptying out your pockets or even stab you if you resist. Very well stated. I believe it was Sammy that claimed Botero at night is no worse than Baltimore. Well in the former they aren't handing out $2000 government checks or enhanced foodstamps payments. Plus there's a huge refugee population with literally nothing to lose. And as a Norte American foreigner in these areas there's a target on your back in a way in which there's no comparison in the states. Such analogies fall flat.

I assume you are asking about the future? Spain is not open for business last I checked. But for the sake of discussion even in normal times just the remoteness of La Jonquera would set me off, by the time you fly into say Barcelona then get a Ryanair type hot over to Girona you still got a get an hour in a bus or taxi, So then price wise those chicas pimps set the prices (yes they have pimps especially all those ones brought in from Romania, so they want like 50 euro for half hour. Ask these Centro guys what they can do with 50 Euro LOL My self I would spend a few hours with FB princess for that money and will have taken care of her taxi and all. Economics will always fall on the side of Medellin, at least between those two. A lot of board members might say that Brazil is even better.

That's it exactly. It takes a certain type of person to enjoy El Centro. There should be a self-evaluation questionnaire to help people decide what area of Medellin and type of mongering best suits them.

I agree- to each their own. There were once some maps on the various mongering areas, ranging from SWs to the strip bars and all the assorted massage parlors, but the last one I had was so outdated as to be useless. I'm curious as to areas other than El Centro that has SWs- I've heard of La Majorita, but not quite sure. When I was over there all I saw was trucking companies. Anyone know of more information, or interested in combining forces to create a Google map or something?

I second this! Office Depot does a really nice job. Picture and data on one side and signature page on the back. Looks very official with heavy duty laminate. I have used it a couple of time when asked for my passport in foreign countries (by cops not immigration) and they have always been satisfied with it.

There are guided tours. Maybe that is what you noticed. They bring them through the plaza, into the museum and behind the church as well as through the vendor stalls toward Ayacucho.
