Long time lurker and budding hobbyist.

I've been active in the US through classified ads like listcrawler and while traveling in Europe, but never really dived into the streets or any other medium. I want to branch out internationally and more exotic places and give Medellin a visit. I see a lot of you guys on here mention FB or SA, do you guys have any advice for a newbie in this area or wanting to get into the hobby internationally? Might this be too much of a jump for a newbie? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am aware of skokka and milerotico.

Search Google for "Hotel M Medellin." That will take you to the website for the famous Medellin Mansion. You'll need to book your stay several weeks in advance. Book a week there. After the week is over you will have experience and contacts and you can decide if you want to jump into the deep end of the mongering pool.

Surfer, I'm sure many people are already hugely impressed by your knowledge and street-smart talent evinced by tons of similar posts. My hat off and respect to you. You are smart and exceptional guy, and everybody should know about it. As for the area, many gringos got robbed and stolen by the girls and gangs over there. They don't report these cases on this thread out of embarrassment. Only posts shown up here are about how smart the posters are and how much the girls admired them. All the different guys who go to El Centro have all been lying for all these years. All of us get robbed almost every time, we're just too embarrassed to admit it. Time to tell the truth.

Of the 150+ times I've been to El Centro, I've been robbed 267 times. I've had over 200 phones and 30 million pesos stolen. Even worse, the one of a kind family heirloom ring that my great, great grandfather gave me just before he died was stolen, 67 times. I've been shot or stabbed in El Centro 118 times, 34 were fatal. I've also been raped 17 times, but I don't want to talk about that.

I remember one day, after a guy stole my phone and my money and killed me, I had to borrow money from him, just to buy a new phone so I would have something to give to the next guy who robbed me. I was so embarrassed.

Most people don't know this, but every 2 hours they send a fleet of dump trucks to haul out the thousands of bodies from people who were killed. It's gotten so crazy that they put up a big number sign in Botero Plaza. All the organized gangs show up in the morning and everyone takes a number, so they can all take turns robbing and killing people. The police are just there to make sure everyone waits their turn.

Do everyone a favor. If you've never been to El Centro, stop telling everyone what El Centro is like.

No, El Centro is not as safe as Disneyworld. The mice are slightly smaller and not as cute. However, admission is free and the cotton candy and ice cream are much cheaper in El Centro. There are also no minimum height requirements to ride any of the girls in El Centro.

I highly advise readers especially newbies to disregard boasts by certain posters who report of going to dangerous areas and emerging unscathed. You can rest assured that that bravado exists only at their fingertips and keyboard. One can only imagine the nefarious motives that possibly exist within their warped mentality.

Your just making excuses! Get off your ass and get to El Centro. The rooms at Premium Plaza are spotless and they have hot water and you get two towels, however you won't get a showerhead but probably a toilet seat. LOL.

I think Hotel Mairuba is cleaner and is cheaper. I think it is 12,000 COP for 1 hour but we will round up to 15,000 COP to be safe. It is right around the corner from where she stands. Seriously, a 20 second walk. I saw her during the lock down but never took her. She was one of the few that wanted 50 versus the normal 30. Struck me as a red flag.
