But the USA Weekend warriors are a staple of the local economy here. They are still showing up, albeit in lesser numbers right now.
The locals here only complain there's not enough of them these days to keep the hotels and bars filled up.
Most complaints about them come from other mongers who blame them for spoiling the market. Likewise they complain about high "asking prices".
But who pays hookers, market vendors or used car salesmen their initial asking prices anyway?

What are popular small gifts for the lady's? I brought a few small vibrators and sets of panties to Colombia and that was popular but even basic vibrators aren't cheap. Ideas?

And for your information, I write dark papers. Always have. Always will.
Glad you enjoyed my work. Your serve!

But a couple things.
Service providers offer everything from a GFE fantasy, to a cheap quickie. Does a steakhouse spoil the market for McDonalds? Or vice versa?
If a monger comes to Sosua for cheap and plentiful pussy, maybe he should be figuring in the cost of his travel and accommodation into the mix?
As for tipping, Sosua runs on propinas and they are expected from tourists. It's a fact of life.
I tip the housekeeper, get extra towels and stuff, and the chico who hauls the 5 gallon agua up to my room from across the street. He seems to always know when I'm about to run out.
The bar / restaurant owners here pay servers as little as 200 pesos a shift. They have to make it up by being nice to you.
And it's not wise to disappoint a server who brings you your food, prepared in a back room. LOL.

3. I personally paid 800 pesos for ST in 2008 or 2009. I admit, I was a little liberal with "a few years ago" bit. However, a 1,000 DOP was indeed a few years ago. I paid that. Me.
4. Are you seriously telling me that 5,000 DOP for ST is the new normal? Well, I haven't been to the DR in a couple of years, but since you live there you tell me. If not, then what are we arguing about?

Posts: 3118The best hair is actually real
My understanding is the best gifts are actually real human hair. The girls have it weaved into the hair they actually grow on their heads to add length and body. Now there is actual fake hair which is synthetic. But the girls that purchase in the market that I know, they know the difference.

Everyone that I know seems to get all the pussy they want in the Dominican Republic. Those are reports I get from people with "boots on the ground". I do not make a distinction between "prostitutes" and "all other girls". If individuals negotiate prices up front, gives afterwards, or wines and dines before there most certainly an exchange of some kind going on there.

But let's keep it straight, eh?

The monger union here seem to have no difficulty giving the chicas, fake hair, perfume, dresses, chauffeuring them to dinners in good restaurants, private villa accommodation, but then claim that giving a chica a propina for great mind blowing service is somehow "spoiling the market".
Sounds more like rules for thee but not for me.
LOL.

All the products or inputs to those products are paid for with USD. If the DOP slips against the USD all prices go up. That means that all the expenses of the girls selling pussy goes up. Expenses of a business goes up, customers pay increased prices. Even "dumb girls" understand that basic economic lesson.
One person does not make a market. If you look at things logically, the girls have control of the market. Individuals are just showing up with a dick, exchanging pesos in one hand a grabbing drink in the other. The market is made by the entire group of participants. So any one individual who does not want to pay market prices does not have to. They can simply choose to not participate in the market or do their own private deals. Anyone who travels here multiple times a year over even just a few years can set up their own private market at whatever prices they choose to pay.
In fact there is a individual who lives in Sosua that posts regularly that has not paid for pussy for six years according to a self report that can be found in the Politics of the Dominican Republic section. Standing ovation and thunderous applause to that guy! LOL!
I have taken on the "one person over paying" theory more than once and showed the holes in that particular line of thinking multiple times.
Please tell me when girls were charging 800 DOP for a ST just a few years ago? Because I have not been there for almost 5 or 6 years. And when I was there 1500 was the price I paid for ST and TLN. And my trip report is there to prove it. You see I have no problem paying for pussy. Or talking about it on ISG. Since we are here to share information on having sex with girls.
On one hand you argue that is ok to pay what a individual wants to pay, then on the other hand you argue that same individual is harming every one else by paying a amount you choose not to pay. Last time I checked, an asking price was just that. Someone who negotiates pays what they negotiate not what the other party asks. Then you report that you give a tip (even though you do not give tips) by taking a girl out, buying her kid something or bringing a gift from their country of origin. This increase the price that you originally negotiated unless those gifts and treats are free.
I know a lot of people who travel to Sosua. Of course I do not get into their business (how much they pay). And even if I did, if they like it, then I love it. No one complains to me about the time they have there. I only read about complaints here on ISG. Now, complaints are ok. But it seems a lot more bad stuff is reported on about Sosua in ISG than good stuff. It does not align with the information I am directly from people that I trust about the place.
Do not take it personally. I appreciate your sharing of information. I hope you appreciate my insights on the points that you made about over payment for pussy in Sosua. Last time I checked prostitution was legal in the entire country of the Dominican Republic. That leaves anyone unhappy with Sosua an entire island to explore if paying for pussy is an activity you seek during the time you allow yourself time off from your purpose. Anyone who finds the market in Sosua unsatisfactory has options, even entire other countries.
But after all, what do I know. I just live here. But I appreciate the views and opinions of all who don't. LOL!

Even worse, they'll brag about the overpaying gringo to their girlfriends (perhaps exaggerating a bit too), and now their girlfriends start asking more. It's a vicious cycle. It may not bother you on your 3-day visit, but other mongers who frequent the place. It will throw them off their budget. Just a few years ago, Sosua working girls were charging 800 pesos, then 1,000 pesos, then it was 1,500, then 2,000 and 2,500 and the more they can get away with, the colder and more hardened the service becomes. Asking 5,000 for ST (that's closer to $90 than $80, by the way), man, that chick has some balls on her.
When I appreciate the service, I may take the girl out and buy her or her kid something nice. I may give her a little gift I bring from the States. But I always negotiate, and I do not tip. Just understand, they ain't going to respect you more for overpaying. If anything, they'll think less of you, not more.
Again, don't take it personally and I do appreciate your report!
