Hi all, I will be in Medellin on May 4 with a friend, and we're both staying at the Mansion (M1) for the first 3 days. I just saw the post about them being raided and closed for the weekend. I hope it will open back up by the time I get there. What are the chances? And is the bar next door open? TIA.

The seized motos part of the story relayed by Ricerocket, if true is the part that could potentially sting.

I heard the guys with rooms were not fined. The chicas were fined 900 mil. But since they don't have 900 mil it won't ever be paid according to one of them. Well unless there's a chica there that cares about stuff like that hanging over her head. Probably not.

Posts: 978Three weeks ago this 30-35 year old with fake boobs and ass canceled twice on me who stays in the same hotel. I have not seen her for two weeks. She saw me outside at the entrance and waved. I said OK let's do this. Get her to my room and she wants paid first. I told her I have been here for a month. Look at all my stuff. I can not run out on you without paying. I am a foreigner. Foreigners have money and do not want problems. She left the room anyways. I have seen this before but not to this extent. She needs the money first because something is wrong with her and once naked the guy might run out on her. My guess is horrible tit or ass surgery scars or bad tummy scars from having a baby. 100% positive there is some kind of problem! Wow! I feel so much better about myself now knowing it really was her and not me. Hahaha!

When I went back in 2013 I booked a room there, but also booked an apartment with Barry (Poblado Rentals). I dropped some of my things off at M2, but stayed at the apartment all but the last night of my 7 day trip. When I returned to M2 the last night of my trip, Boyd had a look as if I was Jesus who had returned from the dead. Apparently they thought I had been kidnapped or something because the maids were reporting that all they found in the room everyday was a small luggage that never moved, a bed never slept in, and no sign of the gringo, LOL!

Posts: 315Ok, here it goes (from first-hand knowledge) The chicas got fined, motos outside the mansion were confiscated, apparently a gringo or more got fined too, not sure for what reason. Guys staying at M1 were moved to M2, but since can't fit all of them there I assume some had to find other accommodations. M1 is closed for the weekend, not sure when it'll reopen. So guys coming to the Mansion the next few days, better email them and check what the situation is like. Good luck! Glad I got out of there in the nick of time. I did pull a mansion girl, paid her 300 k for overnighter and got BBFS without asking, my good luck kept on coming!

Posts: 3802Withdrawal Limit Clarification
The actual limits allowed are three withdrawals of 900,000 COP for a total of 2. 7 million pesos per day for non-Scotia / Colpatria ATM card holders, and 4. 5 million pesos per day for Sotia / Colpatria ATM card holders. This is what is posted on the ATM machines and what I typically do is pull out 5.4 million pesos at a time, but that is using two different ATM cards from Wells Fargo and Bank of America. My advice to anyone coming to Colombia is to always bring two ATM cards with you if you have them. I remember before the Pandemic when the exchange rate was over 4,200 Pesos to the USD, and I was withdrawing over 5 million pesos a day and depositing into my BanColombia account, it's currently around 3,600 as of today.

Posts: 1643Hey! There are entire on line business in Medellin that specialize in furnishing
Apartments and homes including appliances, and they deliver within a day. You have to pick out what you want on line, maybe there are showrooms, IDK. This is what I was going to do when I had an apartment picked out for Catgirl and me, but we changed our focus to the casa en la Montana. Wish I could be more specific, mi novia was in charge of that, I was just supplying the bankroll, jajaja. I will Whassap her for the link and PM it to you if she comes through. I am in the states. I feel your enthusiasm and excitement and I think you have a great plan.

Posts: 1158If you go to a Scotiabank / Colpatria ATM, you can withdraw 4.5 million pesos in one day. You will have to ask Schwab to raise your daily limit since the default limit is $1,000, but you can get 3.6 million pesos without raising your daily limit.

Posts: 315Thanks for the advice. I was kinda torn btwn the 2 apts. I've decided to go with 28th floor apt. It's brand new, no previous owner, move-in ready in less than a month with the paperwork and removal of all the decorative furniture and appliances. I asked if I can buy it as is, all furnished, and pay more. Too bad it was a No haha. Furnishing the place is going to be hard work because I have no experience nor interest in terms of interior design / decorations and shit. My house back in the States is plain and dull as fuck. I guess it's first world problems. I got to come up with 3 million pesos in cash by Monday to put down an initial deposit. I'm drawing cash out my Schwab like a thief that hit a jackpot.
BTW, I missed seeing old gringos, so I hit up the Mansion's Pool Party last night. The more things change, the more they stay the same. If anyone interested in my experience last night, lmk. Too lazy to write right now.
Quick edit: Just found out Mansion got raided by police last night, 10 minutes after I bounced, which was about 8:30pm.

Well at least my go-to chic was available so busted a nut and left centro, lots of traffic on the roads late afternoon. Today I am planning to have a local over.
Much love and respect to all!
The Tall Man.
