You are wrong. You were not here. This was different. They knew there were no police around so the intensity was amped up along with their courage. Normally 3-4 guys in a group that you have seen. These groups were 5-9 and one group would join another group in chasing someone down that was about to get away. Unless you are a heavyweight MMA guy that can run, you can not beat sheer numbers. These guys had knives, wooden clubs, and throwing rocks. You need to get over yourself. You have one thing which is size. But that is your flaw because you think that scares people and that that alone will save you. Even in your prime you would not have had a chance. These guys were not just going after valuables. They were venting and going after people that they did not like the looks of or acted.

You should reflect about what you have been writing for years.
There are other members on this board who have been frequenting El Centro like myself for years, and I have always cautioned those who are obviuos gringos with no Spanish speaking skills that it can be very dangerous, and so have other members with knowledge and experience there. Yet there have been some posters who brag about them not having problems in El Centro and what's the big deal, but they are the ones who are not "informed" as they have made a few visits, nothing happened, hence in their minds they think it's not dangerous.

As far as reflecting on what I have written about in the past, I wouldn't change a word of it. I believe I have provided some valuable insight from my experiences there, and have actually gotten messages from other members that I am ruining the place, as more and more gringos are discovering the place. And there's some truth to it as the influx of gringos up until a month ago was because Colombia has been the only wide open mongering destination on the planet in my opinion. However, due to the current COVID surge, the protests, and the reduced police presence, El Centro right now is the most dangerous it's ever been.

A month ago it was as though the Pandemic didn't exist, there were no protests, and Police everywhere, there were tourists on tours, and more girls available then ever before. But it's been like a perfect storm with the weekend lockdowns, people up in arms over the Govenment tax proposal and other issues, very little police presence and / or enough to quell all the violence, and hence here we are in a state of Mayhem with the protesters and rateros ruling the streets.

A sad state of affairs for all.

One has to be on guard. The danger often arises when one let one's guard down. That is how I think anyway. As for danger or not, it's situational.

Aye yi yi. Where to even start? How about a giant no for hiring a PI in your example

    Were you satisfied by them?
I am genuinely not wanting anyone to think I am advocating hiring PI's in general, especially to screen prepagos and El Centro skanks, jajaja.

Depends on your individual circumstances. Why are you looking at prepagos for girlfriends? That's like walking thru a minefield. Find yourself a regular girl, the kind you can take home to dinner at meet the family. She will be more loving, prob still rock your world in the bedroom, and you won't have to worry AS MUCH that she is only after your money. If a prepago is trying to act like she wants to get serious with you, 99.999% chance, she is conning you and already has a serious boyfriend who will benefit from your relationship with her. They are ALL after your money because in this culture, money equals love. That doesn't automatically make it evil all the time, but you will have to adjust to the culture in order to be happy if you are wanting to get serious with a chica.

My situation was different. I met a girl and her mother briefly outside of Medellin for less than a day. We communicated for I don't remember how long on the Interweb, at least a year I think, my time dyslexia kicks my ass when I have to think back that far. We were not hot and heavy at first. Initially, I wanted nothing to do with Medellin because I was ignorant about the renaissance of the city post-Escobar. But Catgirl was persistent and she intrigued me that she was not trying to leave Medellin, as in the examples seen on the TV show 90 Day Fiance which my family and some friends loved to rub in my face.

She eventually convinced me to come Medellin for the first time in 2019. The steps I took hiring Colombian Private Investigators and otherwise before my arrival seem crazy to me now in hindsight. The link I provided goes to a consult page where the PI company will give you a free quote, so don't ask me. I don't look at what it cost me, but rather what did I have to lose? What was at risk in my worst case scenario? For me it was a no brainer. There ARE examples of Gringos, however rare, showing up, getting kidnapped, tortured for assets and killed. I was doing my due diligence to try and prevent that from happening. I would do it again the same way, but knowing what I know now and how much fucking FUN and adventure I have had with Catgirl and her bisexual friends, I mostly get a good laugh thinking back on all the intrigue I manufactured.

If I was already here and shopping for chicas, I would rely on my instincts and intuition, but those characteristics are not a given for all people. I think it has less to do with the girl, and more about what do you have to lose? Do you have the kind of assets that would make you a target for extortion? Even that is misleading. I had a Round-eye acquaintance in Thailand, his Thai girl friend set him up and cleaned him out only after she lived with him for two years, when he finally felt comfortable enough to let his guard down. She took everything that wasn't nailed down and transferred money out his accounts on line and was never seen again. Do I trust Catgirl now or any of my regular chicas? Mmmm, yes and no. More as time passes. She never has access to any amount of my money or assets that I can't turn and walk away from without a second thought. She is not allowed to touch my computer.

Call it 'True Love" Colombian style, jajaja.

Pretty sure you are correct these YouTube videos show some of the same robberies and they seem to have been spliced together instead of separated like the ones that were posted in FB and the posting date Apr 30th is from 5 days before the FB post.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJXMlp0koh4

This report shows parts of the same videos but not all of them, I wish my Spanish was better so I could understand all that is being said I am pretty sure they are saying that the thugs were taking advantage of the police being busy with the demonstrations this post is dated May 3rd.

Thanks for pointing that out, I did actually click on the video links myself after I made the post to see what would happened and for me each link just leads to the same Facebook post that all three videos are posted in and you can see all three videos in a cluster of one large one, and two off to the right side,. I used the copy link on each individual video hoping that it would open each video, When I saw that for me they lead back to that post I went back and edited the description to say where each video is in the post, I wonder if you are not a member of that FB group if the link responds differently.

Since that last video where it looks like they either killed the guy or choked him out wasn't taken from the Hotel Premier Plaza, the angle shows the raised part of the plaza that extends from the church entrance is on the left so it was taken from one of the buildings across the street to the south of church plaza.

I did find all the videos spliced into one video on YouTube. I would be really curious to know if this guy was just unconscious or dead, the guy grips his neck at about 00:23 then the victim seems to be using his legs (and so conscious) up the point the aggressor drops him to the ground at 00:31 but does not release until 00:38 and the guy limply falls the rest of the way to the ground. I do not think from what I have read that 15 seconds is long enough for death from a chokehold.

Anti-climax (literally, and figuratively) at La Isla

FYI, for those of you who indulge in the higher price spreads from time to time, Club La Isla is open during weekday Toque de Quedas from 2 to 8 PM. What follows here--my somewhat comical bummer of an experience yesterday at the Club on the hill.

About a month ago during a scouting expedition to the La Isla, I'd gotten the name of a chica who'd rocked on the stripper pole, but was tied-up at a table of big spenders. Last Sunday, out of idle, lockdown curiosity, (and eager to freshen up my stable of chicas who visit me regularly) I contacted La Isla about their hours and whether the chica in question would be working. They replied by WhatsApp in the affirmative and with the above hours of operation.

Yesterday (Monday), around 3:00 PM, I took a taxi up the winding route of Las Palmas to La Isla. No surprise, the doorman told me that my targeted chica wasn't there and that only six ladies had shown up for work so far. I considered heading home, but, out of a "go-with-the-flow" sense of inertia, paid the cover charge to check out the scene. Inside not a soul was in sight (no waiters, no clients, no chicas). However, a staff-member quickly materialized in response to my shouted "Hola! And took me into the dressing room where a half dozen ladies were in various stages of preparation for their working day.

One chica (Ella by name) caught my attention for her J-Lo style looks –and by playfully flashing a smile and a perfect set of boobs. I soon was chatting her up over drinks (any opportunity to practice my Spanish). She exuded the vivacity, flirtatiousness, and confident sexuality that I find almost always bodes well for performance in the sack—and, up close and personal, looked great even though she hadn't had time to put on her make-up. After 20 minutes or so, getting down to business, I confirmed that she lived 10 minutes from my apartment in Laureles and would happily visit me there. However, when I then mentioned that I hoped for the "trato de novia" (GFE), especially "besos con labia why mamada natural" (DFK / BBBJ), Ella adamantly demurred, insisting on the imperative of keeping herself safe in this time of COVID. My offer of a possible propina and my proof of Moderna vaccinations in my back pocket were of no avail.

Normally, at this point, I would have said, "Thanks for the memories", and jumped in a cab back down the hill. However, the lady really had me turned on, and, coming off the drag of our Friday to Sunday confinement to quarters, I decided on a "what the F", just-this-one-time splurge and took her to a room. For the first half hour, my impulse was amply rewarded. We started off with her standing above me on the bed performing a sexy strip tease, and then twerk dancing in my groin to some funky reggaeton. Unlike most all working girls, throughout the session she seemed equally intent on her own pleasure as well as on mine. In bed, she positioned herself over my face encouraging me to eat her out, while, with one hand on the headboard to steady herself, stroking my rampant member with the other. In time she culminated in what seemed to be a genuine, if modest, orgasm (who knows for sure). After some quality BBBJ (to my surprise, super arousing despite the condom—it's been a long time since I've had a covered blowjob), we rotated through CG, Mish, RCG, Cuatro (aka doggie). Super twerk action in all positions, with her eagerly massaging her clit much of the time and moaning with apparent pleasure.

Great session, so far. But when I pulled out from Cuatro to change positions, I noticed that my condom had come off in her vagina—most likely in the process of pulling out, but perhaps sooner. If so, I hadn't noticed. When I brought this to Ella's attention, she went batshit—insisting that I must have known sooner and had tricked her. She fished out the guilty condom, dashed into the shower to flush her pussy clean, and then started to get dressed. I made some attempt (in my semi-fluent Spanish) to get her to calm down, give me the benefit of the doubt, and, most importantly, finish me off by hand. No go—she was soon out the door with 10 or 15 minutes still left in our session.

Mostly for laughs (not out of any genuine sense of indignation), I decided to ask for a partial refund. I related my saga to the bartender / cashier, who passed me along to a senior supervisor, who then called the apparent head honcho (jefe máximo) on his cell. He gave me a patient hearing (I made a point of saying that I understood why she was upset and didn't blame her, but thought I was owed the benefit of the doubt and due a rebate). He went off to talk to Ella, returned to say our stories mostly corresponded, but that she insisted that, in doggie position, I must have known earlier that the condom had slipped off—and he'd have to call her a liar to dock part of her payment to refund me.

My Spanish wasn't quite up to arguing persuasively, and, in any event, doubting if a bi-lingual Clarence Darrow or Perry Mason could have won this case), I chalked this up to an anti-climax of an experience, and took a cab back to Laureles. As a final coda to this bummer end of an afternoon, the ride home (normally a 15 minute trip) took about an hour as the on-going demonstrations triggered traffic-jams the length of Avenida 33.

You just don't understand, (and you didn't see the robberies in riot).

5-10 guys suddenly attack you. They punch, kick and choke you first, and it will continue for 2-5 minutes. At the last few seconds, they take your belongings.

If someone finds a prepago and decides he wants to have a relationship with her, he doesn't need a private detective. He needs a therapist.

They're rentals. Do you also try to buy hotel rooms and rental cars?
