Occasionally when I went to the nearby Carulla (supermarket) I would pick up a couple of beers or snacks with my groceries and give them on my way up, and they were happy. They would let the chica up after checking her cedula and taking a digital photo of her. Usually they call your room, and you can either go down and meet the chica in the lobby or a couple of times they even brought her up for me. I always went down to the lobby with the chica after so they knew I was Ok.
The high floor apartments are pricier but better, as the views etc are great, also the road noise is lighter. The rooftop views of the city are awesome and that is where the pool and exercise room are as well. If going anywhere outside, I suggest calling an uber and be in your room till the uber is nearby and then come down to the lobby.
There is a decent steakhouse (if you want to take / meet a chica) and an ATM in the strip mall across the road, and though the area is generally pretty safe, you would want to keep your wits about you and just get the task done and be back in your room. Tough times and gringos would be an obvious target. Moto bandits can easily target you if you look like a wandering target. I generally withdrew 900 mil at a time every 2-3 days based on my needs, usually in the morning as I went for my coffee and bagel in the coffee shop next door to the ATM. The other place that was good for taking cash for me was in Santa Fe mall, where I could mix into the mall after pulling cash and later just take a taxi back.

I have a friend flying out tonight from MDE and he's going to New York and he said he had to fill out a New York State Form online but didn't mention any additional online forms required by the USA government to be filled out on line.
So it must be a new paper form you signed at the Airport.
Travel in the future requiring testing, multiple form submissions online, forms to be signed at the Airport, when will it ever end.
It used to be prior to the Pandemic, at least for me, I would fly on COPA & Avianca from LAX and I would book a red eye Business class seat, hit the lounge at LAX and eat, drink, and dream about all the Poontang to be had the next day, yet now so much red-tape to go thru to fly, at least I have Global Entry though.
Oh well, the fun of flying is gone.

Colombian govt is not a socialist government in terms of policy or name. Secondly you indicate that a socialist country will not be a democratic country. That's not true, and there are many democratic and socialist countries. Third, Colombia is neither socialist nor Democratic.

Posts: 1120Travel from Medellin to the US
I left Medellin yesterday. The tunnel to the airport was closed, probably still is. I used a collectivo taxi and it took just a little over an hour from the Texaco at the end of Las Palmas to the airport. There were four construction areas on the road up the mountain. The driver was really good, trying to go as fast as possible considering the traffic. The line outside the airport was short, but took a little longer with each person than the last time I went through. I have Preferred Access with Copa but it was slower than in the past. I think because of the form the US government now requires in addition to the Covid test. The form is just an attestation that you have received the Covid test or the reason why you haven't. Typical government duplication. I went to a Davivienda ATM near the checkins to get some pesos to take advantage of the good exchange rate. It displayed amounts I have never seen at Davivienda, up to more than 2,000,000. I selected 1,020,000, but then it gave me the option to accept their exchange rate. When I declined, it cancelled the transaction. Entering security, they now require one of those throw-away masks or an N95 mask. My three layer mask from my medical provider was not acceptable. Lucky for me, a lady behind me gave me a throw-away mask. She would not accept payment, very nice of her. No issues boarding or on the aircraft. When deplaning in Panama, there were two people in the jetway questioning everyone. They only spoke Spanish and I didn't understand what the person was asking. I understood Estados Unidos and answered Si. He let me through. No issues boarding in Panama nor going through immigration in Orlando. I'll wait until the end of the curfews and lockdowns before returning.

This time, what happened is that the right-side Government approved a tax reform, which penalizes not only the poor ones as usual, but also the middle class and favours the top class. Then, the middle class got upset.
They will never vote for anything smelling socialist, but the wallet is important and they will not allow easily to be penalized so much.
