I definitely expect it in the private sector that you are talking about, but I was referring to government run tourist attractions where the prices are posted. At this national park foreigners pay 5 times more than Thais.

At most if not all of the government run tourist attractions, museums and so on where a sign similar to that is posted I show them a photo copy of my O-A Non Imm (Long Stay/Retirement) Visa stamp page from my passport to show them I live here and am not a "Foreign Visitor" and I get the local Thai rate. I can't recall where doing that has failed but it might have once somewhere.

Please send him 10 usd a month so that he can take his showers at home instead of at the pool. If you really want to help make it 15 so he can turn on the AC as well. We went to the mall and she taught me by sending my up to the counter to ask the price a portable speaker while she waited outside the store, than I went and told her it was 250 baht, she asked me to give her 125 baht and she went and got the speaker, so 50% mark up for the farang.

Maybe you can not tell from his posts, but MP is a very simple guy that seems is trying to leave less of a carbon footprint than most people. Should he be around there living it up like Caligula? He might (or used to before Covid) splurge on chicks and in the gogo, but the rest of his life he spends making noodles and buying the stuff the store is getting ready to throw out; living a simple existence. I have experienced what you say to be true about the dual prices. Only made one trip to Thailand coming up on ten years ago. I Visited Bangkok, Patong Beach and spend some time on Ko Phi Phi Don. Before going over there I spent time on Thai Cupid talking to girls. Pre-COVID if Thailand had it their way all tourists would be rich people mainly from China (not those who come in on zero income tour buses). Thai citizens would freak out but it sure would benefit the economy.

A person may not agree with the way Thai run their country but we all need to remember it is THEIR country and we are extremely privileged to be allowed to go there. We are only visitors whether we are just doing a One Night in Bangkok layover or an expat. Same for any other country we are lucky to visit.
