Posts: 5607Not much to report yet
Made it to Envigado last night after driving from Bogota. It's a scenic and somewhat challenging drive.
Other than heading out to get money and breakfast this morning, and to visit a friend and have lunch this afternoon, I haven't accomplished much yet. Probably heading back out in a little while.
I discovered something with the ATMs this morning. Last time I used a Davivienda ATM it limited me to 400 k on my credit union card, while my bank card was limited to 2 million. However, today both allowed up to 2 million per withdrawal. That was at the Davivienda ATM at Santa Fe mall.
I'm enjoying driving, rather than using taxis. Traffic sucks and the motos are crazy, but it's not that difficult. However, you do have to be assertive and drive with a bit of bravado.
The apartment is great and awful. It's great because it's huge, quiet, has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a 2 person jacuzzi with shower right off the balcony. No security, but I'm not worried about that. It's awful because it's on the fifth floor, with the jacuzzi and 2 bedrooms on the sixth floor, with no elevator. Fortunately, you can buzz open the front door from the apartment. It's located at the south end of Envigado and includes a parking spot in the garage.

Posts: 5607Whether or not it's safe to drive depends on you. Thursday I drove from Bogota to Medellin. I don't recommend that drive for most people, although I mostly enjoyed it.

I've been driving around Medellin today and it's really not much different than driving in any city during rush hour. You do need to pay extra attention to the motos. Parking can also be a pain. As long as you pay attention to what you're doing, you should be good.
However, if driving stressed you out, probably better to stick with taxis.
Another option you might consider is renting a scooter or motorcycle. Medellin Sports Rentals (formerly Medellin Scooter Rentals) can help you out. Nice people.

Keep in mind that you are talking to a guy that doesn't monger, doesn't travel, and admitted that he's never been to Colombia. But he did find a place to play around posting, here in ISG and naturally on the most active thread on the site.

Posts: 5607The US just requires the antigen test within 72 hours. Search the thread, there are several reports with testing options for you.

Posts: 5607No. He's referring to Loutron. It's not a secret, it's not hidden. As far as I know it is currently open to the public. You can search the thread for Loutron for more information.

Posts: 773I've had that happen a few times. The first time I almost threw up. I definitely recommend wearing rubber for anal.

Some chicas are too petite, no matter what its not getting in, akin to parking my car in my shoe closet, physics sometimes is a cockblocker.

Posts: 19Is it safe to drive?
Will touch down in Medellin next week and have been debating taking taxis or renting a car. I'm staying at Haven and just found out that they do not have parking but there is public parking a block away. I plan on doing excursions and actually exploring the area vs just mongering so I figured it might be more cost effective for me to drive. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Posts: 2According To A Previous Post It's Loutron
Check out the post from GeneHickman on 12th April 2021 04:16. According to him it's Loutron. Can't tell if it's open since I have never been to Medellin.

Posts: 3802No, HIV isn't really the concern, however putting my teenie weenie in the back door, and upon removing it and discovering some poop on my Johnson, well that concerns me.

Posts: 23Current US to Colombia travel reqs
I saw that Colombia no longer requires a negative PCR test on arrival but I believe the US still does for re-entry.
Do hotels or the mansion offer PCR tests like Mexico did? I emailed the mansion but haven't heard back yet. Thought I'd ask here since things in Colombia and over the states seem to be opening back up.
