Case in point, a few years ago I was in Varnasi, India and went down to shore of the Ganges river to watch the morning spectacle of the Pilgrims bathing in the river.

What I witnessed was the highlight of my trip to India which was the most disgusting and filthy Country I have ever visited, yet even with the highly unsanitary conditions as perceived by a Westerner, it actually is not unhealthy for them, albeit I stayed away from the water.

Unfortunately it is unhealthy for them too. People that are accustomed to contaminated water may handle it a bit better than you or I, but lots die from it. Check stats for cholera and water born disease in India. It's one of the worst health issues in India, and the water from the Ganges is not recommended for raw drinking.

I am lucky enough to have been a victim of water in that part of the world and am lucky to have survived it.

Before I get to the session, I've got some words to say about Facebook.

On Wednesday on the flight to Bogota, we flew very close to Medellin. The sun had set and the city was all lit up, but at 39,000 feet there was still a lot of color in the sky. Some guys have no problem driving in Medellin, but for me personally, I would be to stressed out by it.

Probably the biggest difference between driving in Medellin versus in a larger City in the USA, is that pedestrians do not have the right of way. This means drivers don't stop for pedestrians 95% of the time, in essence meaning they are "road kill", so I could see getting rear ended easily if I was driving because I would be stopping for pedestrians.

And as far as being cost effective, I don't think so. Taxi's and public transportation are very cheap, so why bother with a car and dealing with all the hills, one way streets, endless red lights, rainstorms, and congested roads.

That's my take on driving here, although others have no problem doing it.

One of my taxi drivers was doing coke whilst driving, if anyone walked into the street, he accelerated like he was playing a video game (I was sitting shotgun thinking, this country is muy loco).
