Yamaha update that no one asked for. Turns out there is a three month backlog for orders from the factory on all new Yamahas, internationally. We checked Bogota, Cali, same story. All the motos you see in the shop are already sold and waiting for delivery. Here's where it got weird. The dealer wanted a 100% down payment to order the bike. Granted it is a seller's market, but that is typical for how businesses take advantage of the average every day Colombian here who does not know the difference. I told him I would put a down payment of whatever his normal profit margin was on one moto. I threw out the figure 2 million COP at him on a 12 million COP moto. I explained to him that if I don't follow up with full payment at time of delivery, which they say could be three months or longer, obviously they keep the deposit and sell the bike to someone else for double their usual profit. The guy looked at me like he was stunned by my logic, jajaja. He went to go ask his manager and I left because he took too long.

There is a moto zone in El Centro. About 2 blocks where nearly every business either sells or repairs scooters and motorcycles. It's located a few blocks west of the Prado metro station. At least I believe that's where you'll find it.

I don't know if there are any Yamaha dealers there or not, but it might be worth checking out.

If you want to talk to an expert, who might be able to point you in the right direction, go to Medellin Sport Rentals and ask for Santi. It's located in the Manila neighborhood. Carrera 43 F #14-45. He can give you an opinion about every make and probably help.

They also do rentals of motos and ATVs.

I have to assume your joking and Balboa posted what I have noticed in Centro.. there's still plenty of Chicas available to be had for fair pricing, albeit they all won't be cuties, so for the guys that don't need to have a beauty queen, and have time on their hands, patience, and Spanish speaking skills it can be a bonanza.

No, not joking. But as you allude to, maybe the experience of different people depends on their familiarity with places, ability to speak Spanish, and confidence. I often find that if you allow chicas to dictate negotiations then, it ends up with a higher price. I just assume its 30-40 k, and they would have to motivate something from there. As per normal, I don't think appearance comes in to it. Neither mine of hers. You can pay 200 k for a pig, or 30-40 k for a cutie. Can often be down to luck.

Open up Google Maps. Search for "Colosal. " It's a restaurant on Las Palmas. With the map centered on Colosal, zoom out just a bit and search for Loutron. It's very close to Colosal.

The problem when Covid was peaking is they were not granting extensions of the 90 day tourist visa. Technically, they were granting extensions but it was taking longer than 90 days to process which meant they were expired by the time they were granted. And "visa" has different meanings in different countries. Here is it just the stamp on your passport that starts the calendar countdown as JJ said, after 90 days you have to leave the country and then you can return for another 90 days, or file for an extension. Before Covid you could file for the extension of your tourist visa on line, very simple and instantaneous. I have not checked on that this trip because I am already on my second 90 days or "extension" based on the date of my stamped entry at Immigration at the airport, so this option is no longer available to me for 2021. You can come and go as many times as you want in one calendar year as long as no single stay exceeds ninety days (unless you apply for an extension, then you can stay 180 consecutive days) and the total of all visits in one calendar year cannot exceed 180 days. Not. One. Day. Over. Clear as mud?.

I stayed in Colombia for 354 consecutive days, although I could have legally stayed 370 days.

At the end of my first 90 days I went to the Migración office and extended for 90 days. It was a bit time consuming, I think 3 hours.

Before the extension ended I prepaid for 3 Spanish classes at EAFIT. 3 classes gets you e 6 month student visa, 6 classes gets you a year. Then I had to take a trip to Bogota to get the visa. Probably took another 4 hours. Somehow 180 days plus 6 months came to just over 1 year.

Cost of 3 classes was about $1000, might be less now with the current exchange rate.

Wow if there is a Heaven I'm pretty sure it's called Medellin.

A bit of background. Bought a 1-way ticket to Medellin, (bought a fake return ticket in case they asked me at the gate, and they did so I was glad to have purchased one a head of time).

Takeaways and Summary:

Overall, I fucking love it here, as opposed to the US, most women here are in-shape, feminine, and attractive. I possibly foresee starting the path of stringing chicas along that I'm interested in something serious as having the potential of blowing up in my face. But we'll cross that bridge when it happens. In the mean time, the short term objective is to bang G2 an keep getting novias, I'm looking for a novia for each day of the week.

Completely agree that the girls in the US are nowhere near the level of girls in Medellin, Thailand, Philippines, pretty much everywhere.
