I'm finally moving up to the big leagues or rather down (south) to the big leagues from Tijuana to Colombia. Arriving this week and well I got to say the planning and researching has been quite exhausting but informative and hopefully worth it once my feet touch ground. I'm in the process of finding places to stay and I wanted to ask, is airbnb the go to for stays? Can you pay the host outside of using the app for a better price or should I just do some leg work down there and ask random buildings if they have any available apartments for rent for the bang for my buck? Biggest issue I have is that 90% of these airbnbs have no sex tourism allowed and I'm wondering how are staff going to differentiate normal tinder girls I invite over from prostitutes?

I would suggest that you simply stay at the condo San Peter on La 70 in Laureles. I will be staying there next week myself. They are chica friendly as long as they have an ID. The cost is around $35 per night.

You should also check the rates at the cambios along calle 10 as I found one there with a better exchange than those in the mall. It was on the south side of 10 across the street from yet another cambio. It's worth your time to walk around and shop rates if your changing much money.

How long are you staying? If you're only staying for a short time, you don't want to have it screwed up by staying in the wrong place. If you're staying for a long time, then you don't want to commit to a place which might not meet your needs.

If you're staying for a short time, 2 weeks or less, either a guest friendly hotel or apartment will work fine. If you're going to be there for a longer stay, 2 or 3 nights in a hotel should give you time to check out apartment options.

Since you've done your research, I'm going to assume you want to stay either in Laureles or in Poblado. Poblado is more expensive, especially close to Parque Lleras. Laureles is more accessible for walking around.

If you're looking to spend $30-$50 per night for lodging, Laureles has more options. If you're looking at $60 and up, Poblado has more options.

For apartments in Laureles San Peter apartments is a good choice. You can find them listed on Hotels.com and other booking sites. They are chica friendly and convenient, with banks, restaurants and a grocery store nearby.

For hotels, as per Osteoknot, Ayenda hotels are chica friendly and there are several in Laureles. Just search Google for Ayenda hotel Medellin and look at the map.

If you're more interested in Poblado Energy Living is a very popular place to rent apartments. It's fairly expensive, but it's well reviewed here. There are also some Chica friendly hotels. Haven Hotel, Hotel Du Park Royale and others are decent options, but you'll pay more.

If the place says "no sex tourism", don't book there. Unless you're planning on leaving the sex part out of your tourism.

There is a moto zone in El Centro. About 2 blocks where nearly every business either sells or repairs scooters and motorcycles. It's located a few blocks west of the Prado metro station. At least I believe that's where you'll find it.

I don't know if there are any Yamaha dealers there or not, but it might be worth checking out.

If you want to talk to an expert, who might be able to point you in the right direction, go to Medellin Sport Rentals and ask for Santi. It's located in the Manila neighborhood. Carrera 43 F #14-45. He can give you an opinion about every make and probably help.

They also do rentals of motos and ATVs.

There's a website where you can compare the cost of living in different cities. I used it quite a bit in the past. Just pick different cities in the 2 countries and compare them with your current city. There are others, but this is the one I used.

While I think that you have a better chancve of negotiating BBBJ than BBFS, both are harder to find in LLeras than say downtown.
