Took a run down to soi 6, arriving at 2:30 pm since they are now closing the bars at 9 pm. Not much talent I'm afraid but I did stop by 3 bars for a beer each to check out the girls. Right around 4 pm it really seemed to pick up, maybe all of the late girls came to work. I do look for jems to be found and was suppressed to find several worth considering. It just can't compare to pre-covid levels but there were a few gems here and there worth considering. I didn't see anyone ever check to see if you had a clear covid test, it was business as usual with managers and girls all walking around without masks. I had some fun with one of the girls and then headed out around 6 pm before any police checks might happen.

Seems bars are now opening 3 hours earlier to cover the 2 hour loss in opening times. Illuzions on soi 6 is now opening at 2 pm vs 5 pm to cover the lost 2 hours of bar time. So yeah, they can get 30 drinks now if they work open until 9 pm.

Hard to say, that Josh lives here 'somehow'. Under which visa I don't know. But he did post that after his 10 day hospital stay they are now letting people who are positive quarantine at home.

That seems to be the case here. They want the money and foreigners are now demanding these Thai insurance companies pay the bill. Imagine paying a Thai insurance company double what a normal travel insurance might run you and then being told you had to pay up front and then try to get back your money. You'd say no. That's what's happening all over the world now it seems. Those hospitals are just money grabs by the governments.

Something to consider. I remember booking hotels in the states when we were allowed to book them again, you'd go to check in and were told they were only renting out a third of their rooms and they wouldn't even clean them for two days in case someone had covid who stayed in the room. They'd let them sit for 2 days for any virus to die on its own. Have to wonder if these SHA hotels are doing the same or are they turning over the rooms as fast as they can for the money?

The policies are very clear regarding coverage or no coverage of asymptomatic cases. The real question is if insurance is refusing to pay when the policy shows coverage?

I am in Pattaya now, was hitting the bars every other day right up until New Years. Then the new rules took effect and I figured I'd keep my head down and see what played out. I saw the YouTuber 'Josh in LaLa Land" got caught with covid somewhere in Pattaya and was sent off to a hospital that sent him back $15,000 baht for 10 days. He posted you have 1 day to report to hospital after they catch you and your locked in your room for 10 days straight. Now 15,000 isn't too bad but I'd rather spend it on girls myself. So I took an antigen test at my condo this morning and it came up negative so off I went to the bars around 1 pm, saw a YouTube video and it seemed the official testing is starting at 5 pm. I went into LK metro and sure enough, no covid testing guys in hazmat suits. Grabbed a beer and set my own covid test on the table in case I was asked but it wasn't needed. There were a smattering of guys here and there doing their afternoon outings. There was also a restaurant saying you needed to show proof of a negative test 'or' you could take one there. Personally I'd prefer to take one at a restaurant offering the test because there would then be proof the test was done by someone other than yourself while still allowing you to make a fast retreat if it came up positive. From what I've read the police are making their runs at 9:30 pm looking for places still open and many of the girls I've seen are saying how boring the town is now that bars are closed at 9 pm.

I'd say there might be 16 bars on soi 6 that are open, of those maybe 5 have a good amount of girls and out of those girls maybe a dozen on the street are high enough quality at any time to take for a romp. Unfortunately out of that dozen 7 will all magically be on their period together for weeks on end. Sure there are another couple of dozen who are good enough for a try, 6 of those too will be on their periods as well. The old soi 6 made its mark by having hundreds upon hundreds of girls, 14 to each tiny bar and many gems hidden amongst the rough outcasts. Not that way anymore for sure. Some of the bars did get crowded and the girls acted as waitresses for the table and just sat there getting lady drink after lady drink. They do antigen tests in Bangkok as well if you want to enter Soi Cowboy. And now also in the entrance of Nana Plaza. I asked the staff what do they do if the test shows positive result. The answer was they will recommend the person to go to hospital for PCR test, which is more accurate. Nobody is forced into hospitalisation at that point.

Most bars were closed and what few were open did not have a great number of girls for all the men who were around. I did not go upstairs with any girl when I visited and went to others around Buakhao and Pothole.
