Spot on! And I might add Europe and Asia. I will take Bolsonaro over Lula any day of the week. Nobody in the world stopped the Covid spread, but the Bolonsaro kept Brazil open unlike the fools running Thailand and the Philippines which are still closed or in quarantine. Bravo!

This has already been mentioned, in the 2000's Lula benefited from an enormous commodity boom and China's insatiable appetite for Brazilian exports. The whole cycle blew up in 2008-2009 and hasn't really recovered.

This is bizarre. Lula essentially tripled the foreign reserves of the country. Brazil would have to suffer heavy American sanctions and treasury seizures in order for it to turn into Venezuela.

This has already been mentioned, in the 2000's Lula benefited from an enormous commodity boom and China's insatiable appetite for Brazilian exports. The whole cycle blew up in 2008-2009 and hasn't really recovered.
