Yeah. Maybe if you were coming from Afghanistan. How about a Pepsi challenge. One of these photos is of Arrial do Cabo and one is of Cancun. Both were taken by me with the same phone within 1 month of each other from the condo I stayed in in each place. Can you tell which photo is which place?

Did some preliminary research and talked to several Brazilians and it all led me to believe it's a nice backpacking nature getaway with a SO. Does look a bit barren since it's not a city like rio but wanted to go and explore more of Brazil since I've been to rio twice now and although fun want to travel more since I've been just been doing the same SP / RJ routine 3 times last year. I don't like to repeat so much. I appreciate the heads up and info you given and will adjust my expectations and will report back what I find out!

I must admit in recent years, I have just ubered to Buzios. It is easy to get a car. You can also ask uber drivers on local trips for their numbers and schedule a drive ahead.

I'm staying a bit on the outskirts of downtown by Mirante Estrada Praia do Pontal. It's a nice AirBNB location that people did mention in the review that UBERs don't usually go there so a taxi would be needed to be called a head of time. I'll have to ask the host for some good taxi drivers. Thought about renting a car but as others have stated you can get slammed with fines for any scratches and dents and so not worth it. I just have to call ahead to get around with the taxi it seems at least from the Airbnb.

Right now Uber is showing 2 and a half hours for 279 reais. In December my girl went back and forth thinking about the bus (hard to match times up) or Uber then she finally decided to drive her car. And I am glad she did. You should have no problem getting an Uber though. I did not when I went the other direction to Angra. I probably would not expect to get one from AC to Rio though. Might have better luck from the Buzios area.

I don't know what part of AC you are staying in, but we stayed in Loft Condos. If you do not have a car there then you are pretty much fucked. It would be best to stay in the downtown (used lightly) area because there was really nothing in the area that we stayed in, and what was there closed like 5:30 pm. So we had to always drive downtown to eat. Like I said before, if you do not go there then you are not missing anything.

Hope they fixed the toilets there because during my visit (a long time) it was. Damn! And the beach was packed beyond belief. Didn't like it at all and never got back there.

There are 5 beaches on Koh Larn. You don't go to the one where the ferry drops you off. You take a motorbike or baht bus to a better one.

But you just hop on the ferry at the end of Walking Street and be at Coral Island (which has great beaches) in 40 minutes for $1.

But seriously, on the same note it would take you only an hour drive from Copa north or south to find better beaches. Recreio is like 40 minutes, although I didn't like it that much (packed). Prainha is better. Also I read that Vermilha is suitable for swimming again. If so, it's a great beach, too.

Rio's outlying beach towns -- beginning with Barra -- are where it is at.

As I said, I went on a very non pro hike Sunday morning. We step off at 7. Ironically (because it is a religious organization), our link up point is less than a futbol pitch from the top tier hoarhouse in Zona Sul. We hike transcarioca trail. On times when we have finished, fellow hikers and I go to Barra p3.

Barra P3 is described by the youtube blogger that Bearsi recommended as the best beach in Rio.

It is. Chege, SocratesNY (a generous and good wingman, BTW) and I have been hitting Barra P1, which is where Perola Negra is, and is where Metro Jardim Oceanico is.

You go to Perola Negra. You get numbers. The girls at PN are the same as 4 x4. They go back and forth, for example Callsign Penelope, whom I designate Callsign Annette Schwarz. She can be found at both.

The girls will come to work for PN in the afternoon, and go to the beach. They will sit there on the beach in front of Na Brasa Colombia, and zap (whatsapp) you and tell you to come find them, which me and SocratesNY did. You could then order them if you wanted their price (I didn't) of 500 r and hour. Fug that. But it is high season. Summer Solstice was 21 Dec, 2 h50 m longer than winter solstice 21 June, and the earth is tilting back, but high season will be an affliction on spartan mongers until carnival passes. So you can go back and forth between the beach and arguably one of the best if not the best termas in Rio, all at Barra P1. OK, some of you argue P10 is better, maybe. Pesquera, a great insta photo spot is about P8 or 9. P12 is Recreio, and IMHO unexplored and probably awesome. Papatinho the prince of Brazil lives there in a surfers run down ap and surfs daily, his success on pineapple notwithstanding. Keep going up the road, and you have praia abrico, half nude, half clothed. Keep going further still and you come to Guaratiba / Marambaia. The best paella is at Cafe Marambaia and a good pousada is probably at Pousada Marambaia.

And that's not even getting into Angra, or Buzios, or Arrail, or Cabo Frio, or Saquerema, or Paraty -- all those are venues of super beaches, which, again, you can hit with a unlimited supply of 18 year old Rio hoars. Just go to trash casas and VM, 116, and PN, and get numbers, and make a market, it will take 3-5 to find a few regular, buttman backpacker sex hotel fuck companions to make those short trips pretty awesome.

Finally, Vagabundo has been to Thailand, as a non pro (not hobbying) Lieutenant of Naval Infantry, to include a side trip to Cambodia as a Phnom Penh fireman to get Swiss folks out, and the simple fact is that Latinas and negras and mulatas are hotter than asian women, IMHO, though I did sleep with a hot Thai girl with huge natural super fit tits for free. So, Rio really is the capital of the world, and its own planet. Now that Copa and even Leblon are basically toilets, Barra is the place to be. A MILF blonde super hot AMERICAN woman Vagabundo met in the Transamerica pool totally concurs, and I got her zap so I will be tagging that loira tail along with the locals soon enough.

I'm not sure about the purpose of this intellectual exercise. Rio's are urban beaches, so blaming them for their lack of serenity in a megapolis of 7 millions is not really fair. You won't find any huge city in the world that would meet these demands. And bringing up Pattaya couldn't be more wrong; Pattaya, being the only urban open-air hoarhouse in the world, is an amazing locale, but it has no historic value, no architectural or natural beauty, no usable beach, nothing except good food and that famous in-your-face, 24-hour a day nightlife. Which, by the way, is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but you aren't even comparing apples and oranges, more like apples and beetroots.

My point is that Rio has the best combination of natural beauty, decent beaches, amazing nightlife and even bits of colonial history for those of us who aren't scared to venture downtown. Does it have serene beaches like Fernando de Noronha? No. Does it have fewer GDPs than Sampa? Probably. But in all seriousness, one would have to live several lives before they'll have an opportunity to get lonely in Rio..

Yeah that place pretty much sux. Nothing but hills and mosquitos and US $6 for a gallon of water. I could not figure out why people go there.

People go there because it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for having the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. The island only allows a limited number of visitors to avoid the island to get exploited. Nature and wildlife is impressive. The diving is outstanding. Dolphins, turtles, sharks etc. The hiking is great, you can circle the island in half a day. The nightlife is very limited, but it's not hard to get laid with a native or tourist girl.

Fernando isn't necessarily expensive. Go there without booking a hotel. On arrival it's easy to find quite cheap lodging in the vila, just ask the locals.

I've been to Fernando several times but I can't recall any problems with mosquitos.

I can tell you that right now. Hell fucking yeah. Right before the pandemic started me and my girlfriend took 13 days to drive from Natal to Salvador stopping at all the beaches along the way. Even got the chance to hit up a nude beach in Bahia. Only thing we had was a car and a hotel on each end. Every night I would make the plan for the next day. It was wonderful. Our next one will be from Sao Luis to Natal.

OK, let's talk about the trade off between high quality, world class beaches which RJ is NOT and places where you have a ton of girls and a decent beach which describes RJ pretty well. IMHO. The theory is that the better the beach the less opportunity there is for poon. Examples:

1. Pattaya: The Sex Capital of the known Universe. More girls / more bars / more everything than RJ, but Pattaya Beach is totally polluted. The Beach sucks although it looks nice from a distance.

2. RJ: a good combination / tradeoff of decent beaches & plenty of attractive, friendly girls. Maybe the best combo in the world, but RJ beaches are not world class! They may be considered iconic, but I can think of at least 30 beaches more beautiful, more serene, more natural. The problem is these spectacular beaches have no girls or very few, so they are strictly bring your own girl type beaches.

3. Patong, Phuket: a much nicer beach than RJ, IMHO, although not the prettiest beach on the island, but there is plenty of nightlife in Patong, although not as good as RJ's nightlife and most certainly not even comparable to Pattaya's nightlife.

I could keep going, but I think you get the drift. RJ is a great place to monger and shag friendly, attractive Brazilian girls and relax on the beach during the day. But if you want a better nightlife than RJ, you have to give up the beach and go to Pattaya, SP, or BKK. And alternatively, if you want to spend time on higher quality beaches you have to give up on the nightlife. That is the tradeoff.

BTW Barra Posto 10 IMHO is better, cleaner, and more natural that Barra Posto 1, but it is farther out, so you got to BYO. This illustrates why I am interested in the Beaches of Northern Brazil. In terms of beaches in the North, I took a couple of boat trips to different beaches when I visited Salvador. They were both gorgeous, but not more so than Lopes Mendez on Ilha Grande or Trinidade in Parati, and both are just a few hours away from Rio. So no, I wouldn't fly there for the beaches, but I would fly there to see Salvador again, which is a unique and amazing city, or to discover new places in the North I've never been to. I think it's ridiculous to fly away from Rio for the beaches, but what do I know.

Now, if you're looking for a place that should be in everyone's bucket list, monger or not, try Lencois Marenhances (sp? It's a long journey, but it really is an otherworldly experience.

Further to this, if your (and my priority is) priority is actually more bang for the buck, less cost per fuck, and the quality of sex, then the way to go is a darker skinned girl with fewer of the trappings of stripper hoar, like the long fingernails that have to get done every week or more, and the hair that has to get done every week or more, so all the mfing instagram photos look just so, and to go with the girl who just puts out and fucks as in the girls I have been doing this week, ie, 20 pops in the last week for an average of 3-4 a day (took Saturday off).

I mean, it's fine if you have fuck you money as some do, and limited time to come in for 5 days and take a girl to buzios for 2 days, and pay her 400 USD a day which is 2000 reais a day, on top of top tier beach front apartments that cost what sr anaggie laid out, and the expensive car, etc. I took a car to buzios with midori a year ago (I guess it is 2 years ago now). She took it bare up her negra ass, and that was the main selling point for me. We had a great time just going to the beach, and doing go pro swim videos. But we fucked alot as a steady thing, because I live here and it was a treat. The cost per fuck was a lot lower. I was doing her 3 pernoites a week for 350 r each, sometimes 400 r each. I was doing belladonna, a tier 1 terma girl, pernoite, and did her 25 times for an average of 400 r pernoite for 9 and a half weeks, and at first it was great, 2 pops at night, 2 in the morning on average, but by the second month, it was some nights she would come over drunk after being at her alcoholic mother's house and puke all night, so no sex. I was ok with that because I liked her, and we were spending most days together. But my point is economically, the pricing came down to on average 100 r per fuck, which is ok for a tier 1 terma girl, and she was staying with me 24 hours at a time for days on end, and bringing her friends to do the same in the Transamerica pool.

I do not want to be the guy taking belladonna to mfing buzios to a 1800 per night beach front ap, and in the high season, essentially, I told her to go fuck off when she started with all the bullshit about guys will pay me 1500 to 2000 reais a night, which is what some of you, like sr anaggie are paying. As I said, no worries, it is just the market, if you have the fuck you money and you have limited time, you go do it. But to me, buzios is very special, but not for the stuff you could do on Copacabana beach anyway -- go to a disco and order a bottle service, or sit in a luxury bed and fuck. Buzios is awesome because of the geography, and so is arrail do cabo. In my book, you go to get on a boat, and sail around the peninsula, and to get off and swim, like Mr. E has described.

BTW, I went on a hike yesterday with a non pro group and it was awesome. Transcarioca trail. The main benefit of rio compared to sp is that you can actually hike and go to the beach in the same day if not the same hour. And you should. I actually like swimming in the ocean for its own sake, and one of the best if not the best spots for ocean swims is barra posto 1 (all the drama in Dom notwithstanding).

My best trips to Buzios have been pretty impromptu and focused on swimming off of a day boat trip.

We would take a uber to or meet at rodoviaria (the bus terminal), and then take the hourly bus to Buzios. Get off, walk down the main street, and pick a hotel. The cost would usually be less than $200 reais a night.

We would rent bikes and maybe go to praia brava, maybe fuck, and go out around town. The highlight might be a good paella with sangria at a beach front restaurant up the stroll.

In the morning we would get a day long trip on a boat that went to several beaches, where we would swim, and take pictures with go pros..

I'll be heading out from RJ to Arraial on the 14th and wanted to see what my options were for getting there. I saw 1001 bus leaves from RJ for about 60 BRL or so for each person but has a schedule I'm not sure I can make at least for the morning route which I want (I have a SP girl flying in at 8 am and I think the bus leaves at 8:30 or 9 am) but I heard you can take an UBER there and I saw it's like 350 BRL which isn't too bad considering the more flexible schedule I require. My question is, how likely will I be able to hail an UBER to do a 3 hour drive from RJ to Arraial at 8 AM.
