And I have also gotten the impression that they are quite comfortable with this 100 baht per lady drink commission thing just for easy pocket change for street food snacks and so on, free and easy come and go anytime and any night at any bar or no bar at all, show up as they please or not at all, wearing whatever street clothes they had fun shopping for with all that money or bought for them by customers in addition to their regular support, not having to display their butts and boobs with or without a bikini for hours on stage every night and they don't miss the monthly salary and pressure to meet any quota for anything one bit.

It might be difficult to get many of these girls, new arrivals as well as veterans, back to the old ways if or when this Covid thing ever fades into the manageable background.

From what I know, there's no official price for ST / LT because they act as purely bars. You can barfine to take a girl out to other places. For ST / LT you will have to negotiate directly between yourself and the girl. You don't have to drink, just buy the girls drink. They make miserable amounts of money on a normal night. The lady drink they sell, they only get half of it as their daily wage. No fixed wage for them. If they don't sell any on 1 night, they get 0. Some night they may even have to make a loss for those staying far away.

Knew 1 of them who is staying in rama 2 area. Have to spend almost 300 baht a day on 2 way motorbike taxi to Sukhumvit area to work. If she doesn't make 300 baht that night (sell at least 3 lady drinks), she's making a loss. Of course she may be lying. But 300 baht a night wages isn't much, I'll give it to her anytime if she's entertaining.

There are other "vibrant and cheerful" places. It depends on your definition of "vibrant and cheerful".

However, it should be mentioned for any newbies reading this that there has never been an "official price" required to pay a girl in a beerbar or go-go bar or enforced by a bar before Covid, now or ever. Unless there is some strange exception I never heard about.

As long as you pay the barfine, a girl can then go with you and give you the greatest LT you ever had for free or demand 5,000 baht for nothing but a smile and a chance to watch her playing games on her smartphone for 10 minutes. It is all up to the girl and what you negotiated with her.

I should also mention in line with the other 'vibrant and cheerful" places point you made, regarding beerbars that is, that there are so many new beerbars open on Soi 4, Soi 6, Soi 7, Soi 8, Soi 11, even Sukhumvit itself and now go-go bars open and operating as beerbars and clubs on Soi Cowboy and in Nana Plaza, the concentration of girls in those Soi 7 bars has lessened quite a bit. They are much more spread out now.

Newbie question from a non-newbie.

I noticed the only truly vibrant and cheerful area on an otherwise depressing Sukhumvit is the cluster of bars on Soi 7. What's the typical barfine at those bars and what do they charge for ST / LT right now?

Not much of a drinker and I didn't want to ask without intending to take anyone.

Barfines are usually 500-600 baht. The girls will generally accept 1,500-2,000 for ST, 2,000-2,500 for LT.

That is, if they go at all. And, as usual, looks and popularity will effect the amount of baht they will quote and / or accept. And I find some girls won't quote a price at all and just leave it up to you. You being an experienced punter and possibly coming across as an expat who lives here, the latter response is more likely to happen than if you come across as a real newbie. They'll know you aren't going to pull some stunt like handing them 500 baht after a great LT.

Now, bear in mind, I often hesitate to chime in on these questions because, as you know, my approach is probably unlike the way 95% of Thai punters go about things. Meaning, I am likely to actually say I want BBFS+CIP or whatever term for it the girl will understand upfront and in the bar before paying a barfine and taking a girl. Or, at the very least, that she would finish a BBBJ with a true 100% CIM. Particularly if she is the one who quotes a price or brings up the money part first.

So, forgive me Croc and others if my numbers turn out to be off quite a bit or even the part about some girls not going with customers at all. I have no doubt that all those things are effected by what I generally need to get settled upfront before I take a girl that most other punters don't.

I think you are right, I believe all the big Gentlmans clubs have all been closed since the big Delta surge which was allegedly started in the G Clubs around ThongLo namely the Krystal Club and Emerald Club.

For anybody that complains about the prices in Nana etc. These clubs are on another level. Prices so high will make your nose bleed!

I use Google Chrome with Google Translate and it automatically translates all the Thai to English as if I am browsing the website completely in English. I do not have to copy and paste. The browser automatically changes everything to English as I navigate the website. The only thing that does not translate automatically is pictures that have Thai (or other languages) in the pictures. Basically it will not auto-translate anything that you cannot copy and paste. Try using Google Chrome if that is not your standard browser. You can also add the Google Translate extension for Google Chrome and that will give you some additional translation features as well.

The Pimp is a giant waste of money. Everything is extra $ there and be sure to watch your bill and keep track of what is ordered or they will add to your bill.

I think when the sanctions will be lifted the country will be flooded with (sex) tourists, no matter if it's 'only' 30 degrees C. or 40 degrees C. out there. And lots of tourists means lots of girls will come back from their provinces. So there won't be a low season this year, when that happens.

I agree with this. Once Thailand agrees to no quarantine and no PCR test on arrival there will be a huge flood of all sorts of tourists. Won't matter if it's high or low season.
