With PP and AC it very much felt like I was mongering mostly in dedicated districts. And while BKK had clear popular hubs, it was much more convenient to stumble upon gems in the middle of nowhere. Like I could have pretties in Udomsuk and Chatuchak in a single day.

In Cambodia and Philippines I was always treated like another tourist, but in Thailand I routinely had to explain that I was Chinese and not Thai. Still, I got a lot of local treatment and prices.

Hey folks,

Considering a mongering + tourism trip next month but not able to decide between BKK Thailand or PP Cambodia or AC Philippines.

I have travelled a lot and mongered across the globe, so I am not a newbie. But I have not been to BKK or PP or AC.

I have RTFF on all these cities, but still need advice from someone who has been to all these cities and can provide a first hand insight.

Appreciate your help and as always I will contribute to the forum after I visit one of these destinations based on your suggestion.

Getting back on track with the purpose of this forum, I heard from my source at Soi 7 Biergarten that next door open-air bars will reopen on Saturday, 19 March 2022 (2565), after 3 days of penalty closure.

Not all, as some have been slapped hard, I. E. Besides the underage issue (evil customers & bad mamasans in my opinion), some employees have no Thai ID (illegals), and some have no license or improper business papers (especially, Covid restrictions).

Now, don't you all rush down there and bottleneck the entrance. (You can use the 2nd entrance further up the street.)..

Thanks. Thought of going back there after skipping the place for 2 months. Now I would probably avoid due to illegals or improper business papers. Got many more places to go.

I am always puzzled by the lack of appreciation for inflation. It is real and can cause damage over longer period of time. With an inflation of 4% per year, prices would double every 18 years or so. If general prices are doubling every 18 years, one should expect to pay twice as much in 18 years.

I can see the effect of keeping prices down. I visited the FKKs in Germany for the first time in 2006, and I have been going back every year since then. The price during that time span was always 50 Euros per half an hour. Well, guess what, all the girls who could, left Germany for other countries in Europe. The prices in Switzerland, Dubai, and other countries kept up with inflation, but not in Germany.

Another matter is the arrival of new category of mongers. I went first to Thailand in 2003, and have been going every year except Covid years. I noticed an exponential growth in new types of mongers, newly minted well-off Chinese, Koreans, and Indians. IMO, that had more of a dramatic effect on the business than inflation.

I had at least 6 mongering weeks in Thailand for each of 5-6 years in a row back in the early 1990's. Then I took a long break to work harder, make money, get married and divorced, buy property, etc. All worthwhile life experiences and investments.

DOPA and NGO Operation Underground Railroad in conjunction with the Thai police raided a bar area off Soi 7 in the Nana area of upper Sukhumvit Road, downtown Bangkok last night.

The area of around thirty bars has sprung up over the least year or so. Mostly foreigners but some Thais listen to music and chat with bar girls at the bars off the main road.

But sex is on offer and it became apparent that some of the women are under the age of 18.

One victim was even just 14 years old.

The raid came after the NGO Operation Underground Railroad complained to Damrongdhama (a government watchdog) about human trafficking offences in the area.

The target of the raiding party was "789 Bar".

But Thai Rath reported that as the raiding party arrived many bars rushed to shut up shop in panic.

Arrested on human trafficking charges and taken to Lumpini police station was 42 year old Ratchada Sritaket.

Taken into care were three under age sex workers. One was 14.

The media said that patrons at the bars could pay a bar fine then take girls away for sex.

DOPA official Narong Thipsiri said it was terrible that youth were being offered for sex and that human trafficking charges are very serious.

Rumor has it the reason the Soi 7 bars were closed tonight was some bar owners neglected to check a couple of girls' Identification Cards. And I don't mean for place of birth but rather for Date of Birth.
