I've been on the fence on going ever since China shut down that caused stupid guys to flood Poblado. He is to be ignored. People do get scoped. I had one attempt myself. This guy does not know what's going on. People who use dating apps in Medellin trend towards Facebook. This does not carry over to other cities in Colombia. Every region is different.

P.S.: word of caution for late night walks & using ATMs. When I went to pick up cash from a bank, there was another dude in there and I got some bad vibes and took my time picking up, I saw him in his car outside doing something. So I crossed the motorway so he couldn't follow me, and tracked his car leave with my eyes. Dude turned the car around but I was in a darker part so it was fine. He could have just been driving but I knew it was late and I was taking a risk..

I try to plan my finances to avoid ATMs at night, sometime you have to do it (pussy calls, jeje). Even if your guy was not a threat, all I do is think of the possible outcome if I am robbed, or worse, attacked or injured, and then the course of action usually becomes clear.

Going to an ATM drunk or intoxicated (not saying you) at night is like a shark smelling blood miles away to these perps. Try to use ATM's with long lines of sight, meaning there can't be 3-5 guys hiding around the corner or in the bushes nearby waiting too pounce.

Generally, avoid the temptation to resist. If they have a gun, they will give you one chance to cooperate and one chance only and then they will shoot you in the face simply for saying the word "no."

If you are inside the ATM and it doesn't look safe coming out, stay behind the bolted door, get out your phone and start yelling "policia, policia!" If someone else has a better instinct for this, please chime in because so far, I have no direct experience (knock on my wooden head), thank goodness.

The ATMs (I think there's twenty) from a few different banks at the base of that tallest building typically has an armed guard at night controlling ingress and egress at one point.

How big? If it's just underwear you need you can probably find something to fit you at Falabella. There's one at the Santa Fe mall. I was able to find jeans to fit my 34" inseam, although a5 the time I had a 34" waist. That was at an outlet mall which is across the street from the entrance to the Medellin airport (the one in Medellin, not the one in Rio Negro).

Where was this Punta hotel that you are talking about, sounds like a cool place to try out.

These are not hotels open for business to mongerers. These are hotels where working girls choose to live and congregate usually to get away from guys like us. I'm thinking out loud, and would love others' opinions on my generalizations. This is still my 2nd week here ever and there's a lot to learn. If I'm off base, please tell me.

Another observation in the last few days regarding Airbnb vs hotels. I ended up at a crappy Airbnb for my second two weeks here and the host wouldn't accept alterations to the dates and charged me 50% for canceling. Nearly every time I've airbnb'ed in modern countries the hosts were more than accommodating about me moving out if I didn't like a place. Not here. Many of the Airbnbs are managed by companies in clusters of little apartments. Many of can be booked via other websites which don't have these unreasonable cancellation policies. I would go that route next time if I wanted an apartment.

Right now I'm in a brand name hotel, with no chica fee if she doesn't sleep over. It's only marginally more awkward to check her in at the front desk but also way more comfortable, air conditioned, safe to the nines and I don't have to deal with any unprofessionalism from the staff.

Recently I've stayed in Airbnbs in Costa Rica. 2 out of 3 had absolutely no refunds for cancellations or changes. The last one had the more standard option of being able to change with a one day's cost penalty. I'm not a fan of strict cancellation policies like that. I didn't dare book until I was actually there in case my flight changed, say if I had to change my arrival date due to Covid.

I really like that line. TF, thing is that the women vary a lot by what region they are. Think of Bogota as NY, Medellin as LA, Cartagena as Miami, Cali as Atlanta, and Barranquilla as Houston. I think what you are looking for you would do better in Bogota than Medellin. You will find a more sophisticated woman there.

In addition, Bogota has direct flights. My gal moved from Bogota to Cartagena which was my choice, but the flight time is like double due to the connections. It is 8 to 12 hours to see here which is a pain in the ass, and for most guys, Medellin is going to be a connecting flight versus a direct one too.

Argentina and Brazil, as much as I love the women, are just not practical places to have a sugar baby. The time is just too much, and the flights have gotten stupid again with regards to costs.

Like you said with European versus Colombian women, I think European women are more sophisticated too but not as happy. I found Colombian women to be more sophisticated than Mexican ones, however I had a great time with the Mexican women I met.

You will find it is most practical time and expense wise for you to meet a Colombian woman in Mexico. Thing is there is now a new form Colombian people have to fill out to come and it is a doozy. I think my gal spent like 2 hours filling out the whole damned thing.

I can tell you that I did not think I would find much in Mexico and in Monterrey and Mexico City on seeking, and it was amazing. The women wanted more money wise and the hit rate on seeking is not as good but when you add in the time and hassles of traveling it is worth it.

I hate doctors, and I hate hospitals even more. The few times I have been to a hospital in my life I was unconscious from trauma so I didn't have a say. But I have never been to a hospital for medical reasons, and I would just about rather die first.

I begged my my sister to let me try some Cipro antibiotic I had traveled with, and told her she could call the ambulance the next day if I did not quickly improve. Truly a miracle drug, after two doses I was a new man, weak but obviously greatly improved.

I am scheduled to catch a bus back to my home state tomorrow. My right nut is still twice normal size, but I can pee again. I have enough Cipro to make it home.
