I wonder what some of the provisions the nicer Hotels will be providing for their guests during the shutdown.

Bottled water. Not the end of the world if you go a day or two without bathing. French douche of pits and crotch. I skip showers and baths for weeks at a time. Don't use deodorant or soaps either and I smell sweet, just ask any of my chicas. The soap and cosmetic industry has everyone brainwashed. If you allow the normal flora on your body to colonize, all the bad smells go away. There is a 3-5 day transition period after you stop bathing where you stink then all the bad smells go away. Soaps and shampoos strip your skin and kill everything and then the bad bacteria that cause odor colonize. Just like when you Round-Up a lawn, weeds grow back first. But if you nurture the lawn, the grass will choke out the weeds without needing weed killer. Have fun with this post, jjejeje.

Any info on why that foreign Canadian was gunned down in the middle of a restaurant in El Poblado last week? Can't find much news coverage online or is this fake news?

I've seen a bunch of articles about it and it was also on the local news.

I can give you some intel on the Poblado Alejandria. It's a nice property with a terrific breakfast buffet and a little gym with a view. I used to stay there when I was a business traveler. You should check with the hotel about guest policy. Years ago when I used to stay there they would allow girls in if they were dressed modestly. There was a per guest fee of an amount I don't remember.

Thanks to the forum I've got a basic plan down.

I plan on going to MDE for a week in late August.

I'll take a White cab from the airport to the hotel.

I plan on staying at Hotel Poblado Alejandria Carrera. It looks nice and I think is guest friendly.

There are casas that you can get a massage and meet a prepagos, a couple good ones are Fantasia Energy and New Life.

I've been friending women in Columbia on Facebook and will message them when it gets closer to my trip.

I've also looked on Photoprepagos and Skokka for others.

There are some good strip clubs like La Isla Strip club and Gustos.

I will pay 300 mil for someone I find attractive, but I don't think more than that..

I don't understand the logic that would suggest Laureles is exempt. At any rate, don't be surprised when there is no water between 10 AM Saturday until 8 PM Sunday. I thought about posting up in Rionegro or Guarne but I decided to just suck it up and lay low for the weekend. I'm going to skip going to the gym because I know the locals will double up the cologne they wear. Even under normal circumstances it's overwhelming. I wish I had gotten a drinking water 5 gallon delivery this week. Now I have to lug a couple of bottles from D1.

I'm pretty sure Laureles won't be affected, but El Poblado and many areas will be. Some of my friends have already booked hotels and fincas out of town. Even Smartfit sent out something saying their gyms will be open but without water for showers, etc.

I never drink tap water, anywhere. It's mostly because I find it easier to avoid a bad mistake while traveling if I stay away from it at across the board even in places where it is safe to drink. EPM issued updates this morning that includes several barrios that were not called out yesterday. It's pretty much the entire city and it will begin at various times around 7 to 8 am And end around 4 pm to 8 pm depending on the barrio. It's a big pain in the ass but it will be over by Sunday night. I feel bad for people coming here on vacation because it really puts a damper on activities.

So much for Potable drinking water, probably made you think twice about drinking the tap water after what you described. I just couldn't imagine the entire City being shutdown, but barrio, by barrios makes sense. One of my Chicas told me that last time this happened, trucks brought water into her barrio in Santo Domingo. A prolonged shutdown anywhere will not be fun for anyone.

Maybe you can teach some of us how to be subtle in Spanish and make your intention known clearly.

I personally think it is best to be direct and clear if one does not know Spanish or don't want to deal with the possible drama or trouble later.

I consider what one sees on Facebook as a form of marketing. I have been subtle with a Facebook girl. I backed off when she asked what was my intention. I ended up asking her to meet for coffee just to get out of it. LOL. I found out she is also on Seeking. A friend took a direct approach with her. She did not ask for money, but she wrote back with a $ sign. The friend offered a high amount, and she quickly agreed. I would offer a high amount too because her presentation makes me think she is not cheap. That is what I called Facebook marketing. This is not the only instance I have experienced.

If you are like me not that experienced, you don't want to meet a girl in your place without an upfront agreement on what you want to do. You may regret it the 1% of time when you need it.

... I've chatted with tell me without asking they aren't P4 P or ask why I wanted to see them. This tells me some people are leading all their chats with pricing and sex acts no matter who the chica is. Trust me you may be missing out on nonpro sex if you lead this way all the time. So I asked one of my Chicas about this, and she said about six years the water was shutdown to the entire City, which I just can't believe. Perhaps Knowledge or other old timers know, just doesn't sound plausible, but maybe not so much with things that happened in the US.

From what I know having spent time in Latin American countries many decades ago, this type of water shutdown is normal. Homes are built with tanks that hold a lot of water for this type of issue, I'm not sure if this is common in Medellin too. It appears they will be doing inspection work and maintenance in their main aqueduct system that feeds the main areas of the city. You can read it here:

It's broken down by Zone. And BTW according to their plan the water shut down begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, through Sunday evening. They recommend spending the days somewhere else if you can, and to hoard water starting today, since the water pressure will begin to weaken starting tomorrow. Good luck!
