I arrived in Playa Del Carmen from Cancun on Monday. These reports will come in small entries because I'm on my cell phone and I'm waiting for a chica. 5th avenue (the second road running north from the Cozumel ferry terminal) is a very touristy area, your typical American tourist will be happy here. I just got back from Playa Del Carmen. I like this place and think its very find for mongering if you use app.

This is my second trip in 8 months, but this time it in the busy Christmas and NYE season. I had many fun with Seeking Arrangement girls. There are many opportunities on that site. The websites in the area have been known to get no responses or be these fake scam girls that you encountered. It is possible to find some but it will take time and you will have to block the scammers.

Cancun- has a small zona de tolerancia type area, but it is not what most guys on here are looking for. There are strip clubs in the city area, but they aren't cheap.

Playa del Carmen- I think most of the strip clubs have closed down that offered service, but man it was expensive anyways.

As far as the criminal groups (cartels) specifics, if you care (seems you do), the Plaza (area) is still officially owned by LOS Pelones (baldies / shaved heads). This now runs from Cancun to Tulum (main tourist area along coast). The local drug sales and extortion market is lucrative in the area. Businesses pay a tax to the criminal group in charge of the Plaza for protection and as you see on the news every now and then a business is attacked or burnt for not paying.

If you walk down 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen the guys will hassle you to see if you want to buy drugs. If you decide to buy some (it is tolerated in this area for tourists) they will walk you into a legitimate business towards the back and *show you what they have and then quote you an astronomical price. These are businesses that cooperate and do not generally pay a tax. Their tax payment is being that they allow street level drug sales inside their establishment. There are a lot in Playa! Most of the guys selling on the street are ex con / deportees from the US who speak good English. They are useful in these scenarios and by no means are some full fledged tv style cartel members (you will never see one).

LOS Pelones is an independent cell who has jumped its allegiance around Mexico's underworld in order to get product and territory. It is now its own organization that has tried to lock down this area for some time.

Now, not to make you stress even more, but in 2019 the leader of the LOS Pelones was arrested for the murder of a Colombian woman. Stories vary but they essentially say he bought her and when she did not*cooperate with whatever he wanted he just killed her in a cocaine fueled rage instead. It was all over the news in Mexico and brought heat on the group.

With the heat on LOS Pelones the Cartel Jalisco NG, has again made a push to see if they can take over the Plaza again. They will fight a bit and then it will be calm as can be for a while. It is how it works.

I did some basic internet research after that and it seems that actually the cartels are heavily involved in sex traficking in many parts of Mexico (including all Quintana roo), I started to think that is a very BAD idea to keep texting more callgirls because its very likely many of them work for the same pimp assholes who threatened me and I have decided I won't text them anymore asking questions (not even from another number I have), I also thought that even if we end up getting escorts in playa and I don't use my phone number anymore (to make any arrangement with the girl and my buddy uses his) I guess there is always a small chance that the pimp could know by regular chitchat with his girls that there are 3 guys from Canada that are getting services first week of December (and he might remember the texts he sent me and wonder if this could be the same guy who "bothered" his girls). You guys think this is a viable plan if I decide to go to playa? Or I am being too paranoiac? Or is actually a good idea to go another country where hookers are not run by drug lords (I think Cuba is still safe in that sense, I don't know how the Dominican is). Any of you gentlemen ever been in a situation like mine (been threatened by text by "sicarios" because we were texting their girls too much)? From my basic google research there is a very good chance that real sicarios (from Jalisco cartel) texted me and they are actually controlling ALL the girls (not only the agencies) and that fucking scares the shit out of me since they obviously don't care scaring a potential tourist customer. It seems things in Mexico are getting out of control so for all the pooners in that country be very cautious, I am writing this from Canada but still feeling shocked because of the texts, if I had received the texts when I was arriving in Mexico I would have been panicking and probably wouldn't leave the hotel-resort. PDC does not have a special place in my heart. The place is nice and they have fun excursions but if you hope to add chicas to your itinerary then you are probably not going to get what you are looking for.

Chicas are all expensive asking $200+ usd and don't care to negotiate. They aren't the greatest looking, other countries have better quality and better rates.

The sad thing is, only one Chica was willing to work with the pricing and she was ugly.

The tourist based farmacias will rip you off for sure. Price and maybe fake products. Google up Farmacias del Ahhoro. It is a nationwide chain that has great prices and always legit.

Now they will not sell some things that may actually need a prescription in Mexico but you can get generic cialis and viagra super cheap.

If you are trying to get other things like Valium ect then you do have to resort to a tourist pharmacy (big signs outside advertising sketchy stuff). Itll be overpriced and maybe expired, but they do not ask for a script.

Can I purchase Viagra at Playa del Carmen pharmacies without a prescription? Is the cost of the brand name as well as generics there significantly lower priced compared to pharmacies in Canada / USA?

Yes. I was there a few months ago, it's advertised at all of the pharmacies on and off Quinta Avenida. No prescription needed. I Never checked the price, I would guess it would be cheaper. Good luck.
