Recently I pursued a locanto lead which was obviously a scam. I just wanted to know their modus operandi.

They asked me to UPI transfer to a ID which was something like this: "XXXXXX1234. Wallet at paytm". Also their name was not showing, only it was showing paytm wallet.

If any monger know about this, do let me know. I can compromise phone number which I can change for a separate bank account. But I cannot compromise name because I don't have a common name. My name is quite unique and if you type my name on Google, you could find all details.

The closest is paying using QR code. The recipient opens the app and displays their QR code and you can scan and pay. However, your number is secure but your name and UPI ID will be shared.
