I usually just take fresh 100's. Exchange at any gold shop for best rate. Just get 4-5 mil VND for a week or so. I was told 25 k per /1 $ today at gold shop. Google says 24.85/1 $ today. ATM's usually only give 2-5 mil VND / trip and charge +3 $ or so. Depends on your bank. Hard to find an AMEX. Only VISA or MC. Break large bills first when possible to have smaller bills and a fatter wallet.

Use card if you're card provider doesn't incur fees. However your card will be refused in most places.

Cash is king. You can also withdraw there but if you could plan ahead and get the right amount before it would help.
