Haven't posted in a while but just came back to HCM so time to contribute again. Found that alley near Yuma Spa that people have been talking about lately. It's not easy to find the Yuma Spa sign with all the flashing lights and people desperately trying to get you to sit at their business. The alley is on the north side of Bui Vien and on Google maps it's specifically 'Hem 241 Pham Ngu Lao'. The alley is a straight shot and goes all the way through and comes out to the main street 'Pham Ngu Lao' across from the park. I usually just take fresh 100's. Exchange at any gold shop for best rate. Just get 4-5 mil VND for a week or so. I was told 25 k per /1 $ today at gold shop. Google says 24.85/1 $ today. ATM's usually only give 2-5 mil VND / trip and charge +3 $ or so. Depends on your bank. Hard to find an AMEX. Only VISA or MC. Break large bills first when possible to have smaller bills and a fatter wallet.

Use card if you're card provider doesn't incur fees. However your card will be refused in most places.

Cash is king. You can also withdraw there but if you could plan ahead and get the right amount before it would help.
