Hello Fellow Mongers.

I am new to the Costa Rica scene but have been around in other parts of the world for a long time.

A month ago I was sent to San Jose for work for a week, kind of a last minute trip so I was not able to prepare.

I found https://www.tantrik-by-mary.com and https://www.gaiaspacr.com/ and was able to visit both of them.

Both experiences were great and the pricing was good.

I just got word that I am going back to San Jose CR for a follow-up week.

I am looking around for similar services like Tantric by Mary and Gaia Spa. I will have either car or uber for transportation but will be in the Cariari area which is closer to the airport.

I am checking out https://linktr.ee/daraspa which seems promising and is VERY close to the hotel.

Does anyone have any recommendations on other places to try for massage, nuru or tantra? Or erotic massage?

My internet searches often end up on sites that are full of trans or $300-$400 USD.

I was just thinking yesterday that during my upcoming trip to Costa Rica maybe I'll want to go somewhere to get a legit massage, but I didn't know of any good places. Now I do! I know you said you liked both places, but if you had to put one first which would it be? Also, hope you will report on any new experiences.

Ah. Okay. Alcazar is open, or has been recently anyway. And I would recommend it highly compared to Tango India. Take normal precautions with not running a tab, etc. But generally they seem to treat guests fairly, and it is much much more economical than Tango India (which is a clip joint).

Extraordinarily good advice. Gringos running tabs in this place do so at their own risk of getting a bill that Elon Musk couldn't pay. I always pay cash every drink ordered. On another note, last year and several years before the Pandemic there was a Costa Rican Doorman / Bouncer / Jack of all trades who worked here and spoke fluent English after spending many years living in the Bronx. A ten dollar tip when he seated me always went a long way toward a. Getting a good seat, be. Getting your bar tab straight / not ripped off and see. Intro to the ladies for visits to the suites upstairs with fair pricing and help with services offered.

You are welcome. There are some good and free apps for your phone to convert currencies. You can also do a simple math in your head for approximate conversions depending on the rate. If you take 30,000 Colones and drop the last three 0's and multiply by 2 you get $60 which is a bit over $53 based on today's rate but gives you an idea. I would however suggest an app.

Trip Report on some Costa Rica pensions. While I didn't come here for fun, I really just came here to escape my life in the states for a minute; I did manage to scoot around after locking myself up in my room for hours. I eventually, did get bored, and headed outside. Even with it being rainy season, it was nice to get out and see some of the old haunts.

Costa Rica has been hit hard by the pandemic, but there is still some action to be found for the walking dudes who like pensions.

Muses is gone! Gone! Poor Muses! Press F to pay respects. THAT was my reasoning for booking the hotel I did, as it would place me across the street from muses. I did that one time when I was younger and it felt like I found a cheat code. The girls where always cycling in and out, a day staff and a night staff, and I was less than 500 ft away. Man that felt like I had cracked the code and broke reality somewhere, somehow. THAT was my stomping ground, but the last time I was here was like 2017-2018.

My thing was stay at the Dunn inn, have breakfast, take an immediate walk up the hill to muses, THEN think about what I wanted to do with the rest of that day. And then when the day was over, If I had enough steam left in me, I would visit muses again and 9 pm for a nightcap. I feel like a proud chump saying this, but I salute you muses and I mourn your loss. It was like a piece of me is gone or I feel it missing every. Time. I walk by it and see the for rent sign in the window. Every time.

New developments! There are 2 new pensions not on the map right by Muses. On Calle 3 by Avenida 7 and between 7 and 9 Like the others now in Costa Rica, they are small, hole in the walls, and the chicas want business. I was on my way back from 360 when they tried to wrestle me in. The ones trying to get me in were classic middle age chicas (my thing), and the second one was little with only two girls but one was the kind I really liked.

Jet set 70 E has a new name. I didn't pay attention to what it is. The women are down to about 4-5 mostly older ladies but with sometimes one or 2 26-30 year olds. I recognized some faced and they recognized me. If you like them' hot, young, and thin, this may not be your bag. But the ladies here are still up for action. If you like getting your dick sucked like it has the antidote and the decor doesn't scare you away (very bare bones), then go in and ask for Elena and prepare to have to punch yourself in the stomach for an hour and afterwards, you'll be trying to get your balls to come back down out of your stomach. I like older spanish women. Beware. Some of the older women in here eat ass and lick balls WITHOUT you even asking for it. Pleasant surprise.

Krysis is in Crysis! This place only had 1 girl, for 1 hour only (about 25 mil), but the place was run down, and beaten up and there was only a older man and 1 girl inside with a door to the left that looked like it had 3 more college classes and the a final left before it could learn to lock.

Anita Jet set is gone, but it DID have chubby girls (another thing I'm into skinny pretty chicks are awesome, but they all look the same naked. Boring.).

Life-EX is gone, and is now lule pame umana. An infant psychology place?

The Taormina Looks like business as usual, with fewer girls than I remember and a little less hot. The Italian chef they had in back is gone. Either fired or quit so now the food tastes like applebees. I've been told several times you best bet is the spaghetti Bolognese, the prime rib, or the fish. If you get the sirloin, you'll still be chewing it when you go to bed that night. I guess all the action really is at Jaco. I only went there for the professional massages on the 3rd floor. Paola is a gem.

Hotel Little Havanna Has been carved up into 3 separate pieces. One cigar bar, one hotel by some other name, and a BAR sporting the name hotel little Havanna in what amounts to just the bar, the kitchen for food, maybe one our two rooms, and 1-2 bored looking chicas.

Penson 360 was the hit. It was just like old times, There were 7-10 girls everytime I walked in. All young. All cute. Various shapes and sizes. 5-7 were cute and to taste and 3 were hot. 360 is still rockin' but the to go price for half hours now is 16 mil, and they DO want to upcharge you 7 mil for extras, but hey, 1. I'm on vacation. 2. It ain't a cien.

Musas las Diosas del Placer. Up by the Auto mercado, is gone. Well. I didn't find it. Only shut buildings.

Again, it wasn't that kind of trip so I didn't step foot in the Del Rey. Also, my heart can only bear so much sadness. So I walked on by. I didn't even give it a second glance.

After that I toured Calle 11. I had to force myself to do it, cause I really wasn't here for that kind of vacation, but I had to know. Memories and all. So here's what I got.

La Mansion and Pension Erotica 3 are still going.

La Mansion had like 7 girls hanging out in their lobby looking for something to do. These are more your 5-6's local flavor type of girls (I love the local flavor). Again, everybody doing the 16 mil /25 mil thing, and charging 7 mil for extras.

Again, 1. I am on vacation and 2. It ain't a cien.

Pension Erotica 3 had 3 girls on tap and the one the answered the door was a chunky stunner. Blonde hair, black eyebrows, full hips, round everything, cute face. She wasn't my style, but she is somebody's 7. Again. For 16 mil, if your ready for your rubber to meet her road, you couldn't have gotten a better deal that 16 mil.

Note: The extras don't bother me because these girls are people and so am I. I don't know what bad circumstances got them into this job, and they don't know what bad circumstances got ME into visiting people working this kind of job. All jobs suck, so I try to be human and make my time with them fun. What is 7 mil after that? Also. I learned that I Liked taking hours. Sure it is crazy cost-effective to ball on a budget and orgasm yourself into a coma, but I find spending time with them (the human element once again) and just even spending 10 minutes talking, flirting, and understanding that we are both humans doing a perceived dark thing for reasons we both might not enjoy, buuuuttt. Since we're both here we might as well have fun.

Pension Illusions. Gone, or closed when I walked by. No sign at all. I went all the way up to a bar and had a beer and came back just to make sure I didn't miss it. I met the most beautiful combination of chunky and pretty (that's my thing) in illusions years ago. It will be missed.

Pension 69 is gone, closed when I walked by.

Pension Corte is Well, Alive, with about 3 girls, 1 young, and 2 middle aged. Due to my tastes there was still fun to be had. The 16 mil /25 mil 7 mil for extras rule is still in effect.

There is a new pension! Right across the street from Pension Corte is Pension Hotzguy (or Hatzguy)? Another local place where the women are local, the ticos are having beers and the women are 5-7's with your quirkiness making a 5 into a 7.

The bartender was cut and hit my quirk-bone, but I had already made my choice at Corte and was heading back.

Bar IDEM is nowhere to be seen. It looks like they moved the old skate park next to relax Acroos the street from it and into Bar IDEM's space. I could be wrong, but I didn't see any bar IDEM. Only locals lined up to go to "Skate park Teatro".

And Lastly on this Trip. Relax Massage is still in the house.

When I walked In there were only 2 girls, both black (as in dark skinned) While I wasn't taken aback, I was delightfully surprised. There were only 2 girls downstairs at the time and both were dark skinned, and I had just left the Cortex, so I was done with my evening. Just as I left a group of about 7-10 young guys showed up. Give'them hell young dudes.

So, Trip Report TLDR; I went on a Saturday at 3 pm.

Muses. Gone! From the 5/22 report till now 7/3 - Gone!

Two new pensions (names unknown) Right around the corner on C3 on the same block as Muses.

Jet Set. Has a new name (Same older women, they eating ass now. Times have changes.

Krysis. Is in crysis. Open, with 1 girl, and rickety door that is the Rudy of all portal accessories.

Hotel Little Havanna. Carved up into 3 parts. 1 cigar lounge. 1 hotel of a different name, and a bar with the name Hotel Little Havanna. The bar part has a kitchen and I think 2 rooms and 1-2 bored looking chicas hanging about.

Pantera Rosa, LE Grillion (not sure it has reopened yet). They are not as upscale and can be a lot more hands on. Definitely a lot cheaper. And try not to run a tab. Pay as you go to avoid any issues with the bill.

Definitely enjoy Pantera Rosa although Spanish is pretty necessary. And never run a tab at a chica club anywhere in the world ever unless you go there all the time and are on good terms with everyone.

Tango India is great if you want to to drink a few beers and watch some very attractive ladies dance. If however you want to drink with one of the dancers or take things even farther, ring a whole lotta cash. It is very expensive.

And if you do go, take an Uber, not a taxi. The taxi driver will usually try to get a kick back from the club for bringing you there and very likely that cost will become part of your entrance fee.

Personally I like the Tico oriented nightclubs better. Pantera Rosa, LE Grillion (not sure it has reopened yet). They are not as upscale and can be a lot more hands on. Definitely a lot cheaper.
