You can use Airbnb? Enquire with host ahead of time and be discreet. Tell you're traveling to another city and missed bus so both need immediate stay til morning.

Cons: Checking out after couple hours might raise suspicion.

Pro: Not monitored by LE as closely as hotels.

Experience: Only tried once. Feels more comfortable like at home.
