Posts: 782Good advice, while I can agree in that moment my thought process was: my bed was only 1 minute away, I'm with 2 hot Venezuelans about to have a threesome, it's our last night in Cartagena and all three of us are leaving in the morning for Barranquilla and I was not willing to spend any time in Colombian Jail.

Don't pay. Call the cops 165 https://www.policia.gov.co/denuncia-virtual/extorsion.
Or the army https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oL-...VJhgD6GZk/view.

Posts: 4638I know the roads but not their names, so I had to look them up. So you want to come into Bocagrande on Carerra 2 and leave on Carerra 5/4/3 (4 and 5 eventually merge into 3). Stay the hell away from Carerra 1.

Just a quick report.
Last night on the way to El Laguito the cops set up a check point why that police station where El Laguito and Boca Grande meets where the road changes to 1 way.

Now, stupid ass me was walking around with $600 while constantly procrastinating on changing it out cause the rate was increasing and I was parting with one of my chicas and her friend till 2 am. I also had about 500 k in pesos.
We took a taxi from Getsemeni to El Laguito, 4 Cops pulled over the taxi and told all of us to get out the car. Patted me down, emptied my pockets and they saw the money, took both girls out the car and searched their bags. While I'm in the back of the taxi by the trunk being searched another cop searched the back of the taxi. Came to me and said "problema". Shows me a bag of white stuff and said coca. Now I don't do that shit and none of my girls do it as well. I already know where this shit is going, my girl starts arguing with the cop, they take my ID and both my chicas. Since they both Venezuelan they threatened to take them to Migration, but I know my girl here legally since she have a Cedula and the other have a Venezuelan ID.
I asked them where they found it cause it wasn't on any of us and they said in the back seat. I already know where it's going.
I pull one cop aside and start negotiating to make it go away. My girl over there arguing crazy loud with the other 3 cops. Then they arrest her and her friend and and said everyone is getting fined and going to jail. I pull my girl aside calm her down, pull the cop aside start negotiating again.
They said $100 per person. They after I paid they had the nerve to say they are letting us go because we are good people. SMH.
Don't be me, let my $300 extortion be your lesson.

I can agree. Don't do any of the stands! Last time I did that I was shitting for about 3 days until one of my chicas hit me with the Lomotil. It never felt so good to take a solid shit again.

Posts: 4638I was not sure how long that was going on. I was on the scooter and noticed they had closed the road and were just down to one lane. I thought it might have just been for a day or so, but I guess not. Yeah, it is going to delay getting in and out of Bocagrande for sure. When you enter Bocagrande, you sure as hell do not want to come in or go out on the road next to the beach.

So after about a week and a half being locked in with Dolce chica just doing local spots, restaurants, movies (surprised the shit out of me it was English audio with Spanish subtitles) she left to meet her high paying gringo and decided to hit the beach just for fun. Why didn't anyone report most of the beach is closed along Boca Grande? Looks like they are doing a huge sewer installation with pipes. Took me 20 minutes to get there from Centro with all the roadside construction along Cara 1.
After carrera 10 construction stops but at that point I lost interest. And just did a beer and walked around until something catches my eye.

Posts: 191You can reach out to OneFireboy. Not a tour guide but can help you with if you don't speak Spanish, have good non pro college girls and also can assist you with other tours. Very helpful person. He does not promote or market to much but a very useful person in Cartagena. Some ISG guy I meet also contact him whenever they are in Cartagena And are very happy. He can be your friend in CTG and can take you to nice clubs where there are less gringos.

Posts: 12Bro, this post is the weirdest thing. My buddy was telling me today this trip is literally all I've been talking about for the last month. I went ahead and cancelled my Colombian Cupid Account, as well, before logging on here and seeing this post tonight. I took a new job roughly 15 months ago and have been working my ass off ever since. Normally I travel at least once a year for a few weeks on a mongering trip. This time I'm seeing how really addictive they can become because I'm clearly obsessing a bit. Anyways, I do appreciate your post, bro. Thank you, man. I just need to relax and take it as it comes. I'm all set on accommodations. I have a guest friendly el laguito apartment locked down. I'm not one for jewellery but will be travelling solo. Any aimless walking will be in the day within the tourist district.

Posts: 379Laguito is the worst for venders, they come from the Island right off the coast.
The launches bring annoying venders from the island to Laguito every morning. One drop off zone is right near the Hilton Hotel. The other drop off zone is a couple blocks from the old Dolce Vida location, by the Fish restaurant. Just stand in those locations and you will get mobbed as they are trying to hit every tourist many times. Like flies and mosquitos. In your Face!
I stayed in Boca Grande this trip and there were very few Venders there.

Posts: 379Disgusting pee bottles Cab Drivers throw out the windows.
Any one else see all the soda bottles with urine in them along the roadway? And alot of street corners smell like piss too. Cab drivers don't even want to stop and piss, so they pee in a soda bottle, screw the cap back on, and throw it out the window, along the curbs. Disgusting.

Hey man, I was in the same boat as you before my first trip, hitting up all these girls on social media and crap, wondering about tour guides, etc. Honestly, I don't get the social media aspect when you're in Cartagena- you will see, get a feel, and be able to talk in person to HUNDREDS OF GIRLS wanting to hook up with you. Drop the social media garbage and stop getting caught up in virtual threats and virtual beggars. Regarding tours, the tourist part of the city is so small you can taxi everywhere in under 20 minutes- so don't even stress about that. Only two other things you need to know, 1. Do not walk or lurk around in the walled city by yourself aimlessly with any sort of jewelry or watches on, and 2. Get a airbnb, contact the host and make sure they allow visitors. You don't really need much else advice, enjoy the trip, enjoy the first time experience of finding things out on your own- it's half the fun and excitement- have a safe trip.

Posts: 3284Cartagena is a small place. You can go everywhere in taxi. Do not need a tour guide. I have walked to many places day and night especially inside the walled city. Tour guide may or may not help you with the girls. There are girls everywhere. Just negotiate and have a good time. There are lots of tours available including to islands if you like. In Cartagena money talks. You are not likely to find GFE girls. There are couple of beaches where you can go and enjoy. Touts are everywhere if that is your thing who will get you girls for an exorbitant price. For the first trip just go and see. If you like the place you will know what to do next time.
