That's good to hear. I have my eye on a couple of them at Alex but colleagues could make things difficult at the hotel. I'll continue to look for esteticas nearby but google maps doesn't show any without agood cab ride.

I haven't tried from that specific location, but I doubt it would be an issue—Alex has been fine with some pretty far-flung areas in the past (like the airport and way out in the outskirts of Tlajomulco). I couldn't have said it better myself. I have a good network of friends as well. There are quality hard working people to socialize with which is another plus for me. Still I am about 5 years away from retiring and Brazil seems to pull at me from time to time. GDL is still out in front though. I love to bike and the Americana zone has great bike lanes to enjoy and of course Sunday is Ciclovia.

We all have our preferences, I enjoy the Tlaquepaque area and even setup a airbnb in the zone to explore it all by foot. The mariachi plaza is another. Plenty to enjoy but you need the time to seek it all out.
