It all depends. Mountains and water, nature are highly prized by some, and offer great fulfillment if you are calm enough to understand, appreciate and interact with them.

If you are young and restless, need a nightlife, then it would offer little to satisfy you.

But, there must be some action there to excite the sensual pleasures. And, I remember reading a while back in this forum that there was a red light area in Hualien. Nothing wrong with having the best of both worlds.

I was in Hualien once with no chance to release my passions, unfortunately. But, I also truly loved being there. Would have loved to check out the action if it still exists there.

Does anyone know if their zone is up and running?

I had no idea such vintage dens of iniquity existed in Keelung. I did not go to this city on my first and recent trip to Taiwan last February but at least I know some adventure still beckons. Thanks for the winsome description of your encounter. On a separate but related subject, I did visit Hualien on this trip and found it an enticing place to spend a few days, albeit a bit short of potential female companionship, which is a pity as it appears a quite liveable place.

I also walked through Longshan Temple area, however, this was prior to reading your report on the potential this area offers. I do recall seeing a stunning and sexily dressed young lass strolling through the park area and now realize she may have been on the hunt. Next time.

"I've been working on the railroad." (inspired by my recent trip to the Keelung shacks by the tracks).

Well, me and Longshan (more correctly, Longshan and I) have no chemistry recently. It just lacks the right flavor. I just can't vibe right with it recently.

So, I made the trip to the port town of Keelung via railroad where life is happy all the time. (not really, but I am feeling poetic).

Hit the shack stroll and unfortunately, not very vibrant. As rundown and debilitated, dilapidated as ever. Most doors are in lockdown. But, there were some choices. I did scour the area pretty long. Narrowed the search. There were a handful that suited my taste.

I chose one, not necessarily on pure looks and age, but demeanor, sincerity of smile, humility, and a very lovely fit concave abdomen. (flat stomach means a lot to me).

From the get go, she was so very pleasant, sweet and courteous, like picking up a nice girl in front of her parent's house on a first date. (Am I okay? I even shocked myself with that last sentence).

She was so pleased and flattered that I chose her over her two sisters in that shack. Sort of like she was crowned Queen amongst the last three runner ups in the beauty pageant. (there I go again. No sex for a while creates delusions of grandeur in my psyche.).

Had a great time in a variety of positions. Snug fit on this brown-haired 30-ish all natural Taiwanese beauty. They are left alone to their own devices, quite knowing that to keep peace and towing the line ensures their livelihood. It is a simpler low key friendly vibe. But, it also is a very degraded area. It probably remains unchanged for possibly a century. Others might know better, but it seems that way to me.

My business is welcome there, and the bosses treat me well and respectfully exchanging greetings like old friends. I come and leave with a smile. I almost always find a nice traditional girl.

This lady treated me very well, and there were very tender moments of true love-making. At my age, I need that connection. I am no longer a gunslinger riding into town, raising hell in the local saloon and bordello.

Anyway, out of sheer convenience, I am sure that Longshan will call me back. But, my last few visits there sent me to Keelung.

The bird spa. The only erotic massage parlor in the whole area that I know of. They have individual rooms, with an open shower, and the massage table. I got the half set which included bathing with the girl, light massage, cat bath and BJ without condom. $2300. Girl was ok, nothing special. The experience itself, was just ok. I was in the area of the Taoyuan Train Station. Went to visit the Taoyuan Jingfu Temple. I love places of worship of every sort. (except ones devoted to human and animal sacrifice) (that clarification was surely not necessary. Just an attempt at a joke, from a not so funny guy).

Sorry for the digression. As temples go, I find this one simply spectacular. Extremely clean and welcoming, very godly, conducive to prayer and meditation, very traditional, amazing architecture and extremely ornate. You are allowed to light incense, unlike the Taipei temples, nowadays.

In the back of the temple and on the sides are many roads like: Bo'ai, Minsheng, Minquan, Mitzi, Taoyuan with the sad remnants of a once thriving monger culture.

I got a bike at the Main Station and just rode around the area for a while. Stuck my head in places, asked a few questions.

Eventually was running out of time, and I had to choose or go home. So, I chose. She was a Viet, 30's, pretty. Made a deal for 1 k, 40 minute massage with an he. Massage was not bad. Relaxed me well enough. She brightened up and smiled more as our time rolled on. I was gearing up for being held hostage for a tip, whilst naked on the table with no bargaining leverage whatsoever. But, it never happened. She kept her word.

These are mostly run-down shops of yesteryear, somehow remaining open, but not very busy. In the area, full service runs about 1. 5 with a decent looking lady. If you go back deeper into this thread, the area is / was known as Beauty Alley. You will always get something there. My outing, this time was successful, a good time with a massage for 1 k. But, she had no cards or numbers to hand out. She just said to come back anytime. Don't think I could ever find it again, as I rode my bike in circles for a long time.

I stripped naked and plopped myself on the table. But, I think that shorts-left-on is the protocol, because her friend popped her head in behind the curtain which provoked some cute Vietnamese chatter and laughter. I was face down and didn't see it unfold but I got that impression. It did disturb the tranquility of my massage, as it provoked fantasies of a threesome. I think it is a gangster area, which actually keeps it safe. One time last year, a girl was very rude and I wanted to get up and leave after a few minutes with her bad attitude. I don't need the scandal of a fight and a bad record.

But, other than that, my visits to that area were always splendid.

Yes, I have viewed those vintage posts. Guys back then were raising hell here in Taiwan. I remember coming to Taiwan in 1987. Jeeeez, you never even had to travel to a red light district. A couple blocks away in any direction was at least a "fun" barber shop. Oh, how the world is changing, EVERYWHERE.

But, thank you for the Hualien map. I was there last month and knew it was available, but I was traveling with others who would find such activity well below their moral standard.

Longshan is not what it was. So, I must expand to other districts.

I came to Taiwan originally back around 1986, and it was a monger's paradise. You never had to look. It would look and find you wherever you were. The locals knew you wanted it and after giving you a smoke, and securing your confidence, they loved assisting you to their favorite spot. The barbershops were so animated with gorgeous women competing, ready, willing and able, that haircuts were nearly impossible.

Most places had a super huge comfy chair for escapades, sex, and a long rest or even a sleepover. Many places had steam and sauna. Those were the days, when men walked the earth as Kings.

I appreciate your getting back. I can now officially end my search. According to legend, Sanchong was an amazing, degraded mongers' paradise of the bygone era. If you know of any other quick alleys, aside from Longshan, I would be much obliged. So much of Taiwan's traditional comfort zones are fading into memories, at least in the Taipei area. But, outside of these highly developed areas, I am sure that locals are privy to hidden old-school haunts, but they are kept as highly guarded secrets.

I live there (at least 6 months out of the year) and right now I'm seeing a proliferation of Massage Parlors (24 hour), heck one is within walking distance of my home. While I have a break from the family, I wanted to know if any will work with foreigners?

Once you are inside a spa naked or almost naked, especially a 24 hour spa, your chances are highly in your favor. If you fail you move onto the next one. Eventually you are bound to have success and develop relationships. Good luck!

My Chinese is probably far more limited than yours. But, the language of sex is but a few words. And, even with no words, you can get exactly what you want from any girl anywhere in the world, of any language with simple caveman gestures and grunts.
