I tried to google Mixx and it appears it is still open, but of because the info on google could be outdated.

I will try and verify this next week unless someone will confirm, if Mixx is closed or not.

I also enjoyed going to Spasso's. Yes it was more expensive, but usually the quality matched the pricing at least IMHO. I would also agree, that on a big scale you the popular roof top bars have a lot of eye candy, but it really hit or miss (mostly miss in my recent experience) to find someone to take home. I had good luck at Oskar's and across the street at Levels or Sugar, but Oskar's offered the best return on time and effort. I will be interested to see what the report is on Minx.

I myself go to the bars to people watch. If I want some yumyum, my tactics are different.

Not as much chasing but once you find your gems you can do other things like going on dates, partying (if you're into that) vs just meeting to play. I met a great varitery of girls there. One that's crazy hot and not only speaks perfect English but can connect on deeper level, one that loves to eat me and give me rim jobs and many more that would go over the hours and even stay overnight at no cost.

It just takes a bit of practise. But I haven't gone to a MP or streets or gogos in a bit. I would go there just to walk and watch. At least that's what I did last time mainly because I didn't find a girl I wanted.

While we are on the subject, I wanted to ask the board if Minx is open (across Suk from Spasso in basement area) or is that permanently closed as well? There are a lot of popular rooftop bars in Bangkok but it seems the ones I visited this winter were mainly populated by Asian clientele frequently with their lady partners. A lot of Instagram and general picture taking going on so these don't appear to be a good venue or I went to early.

I've been asking that question forever, and of course, lazy POS that I am, I never bothered to check.

I will visit Bangkok next week and normally go to Spasso nightclub, but have just found it have been relaunched as a restaurant with no live music and close early.

My question is where do the "upscale girls" go to now instead of Spasso?

I can certainly understand why visitors are not enthralled with online services. You come here to party and have a good time, not to spend time on your phone reading reviews and looking at pictures, as it takes a lot of time. We residents have a very different outlook. Very few of us go to the bars anymore (think I've been once in the past year to remind myself why I don't go), they are a shadow of their former selves especially for those of us who have been here two decades plus. They are expensive and in most of our eyes the girls are not particularly good looking. The online scene however, while not fun for the visitor, affords the resident, namely residents who speak a little of the local language, access to great looking girls for a very reasonable price, without having to go to a bar and deal with lady drinks, mamasans, bad music, bar fines, etc. And we can partake late morning on through the night. Completely different agendas.
