I have faced an issue with online hotel booking (not mongering related) only once so far, and that was through agoda. When I turned up at the hotel, they refused any such booking had taken place even though I had prepaid for the room. But by some sheer luck, this agoda booking had gone through some other third party travel aggregator. These travel sites don't always have direct deals with the hotel This hotel actually maintains a ledger with bookings from different aggregators, so since the booking happened through them, I finally got the room once the hotel guy checked other entries. The hotel manager told me that they had blocked agoda from their end but agoda still shows vacancies and allows booking through the site. Lesson learned, since then whenever I book online, I usually call up the hotel to confirm if a booking has been made.

Hi brothers,

One of my friend and a ISG friend got scammed by this girl in the name of virtual arrangement.

This girl was in touch with them for almost 8 months, she had video call, planned to meet and it didn't happen for various reasons. She suggested virtual arrangement until they meet in person, she convinced them and started virtual arrangement, with one guy month starting one payment 5 k and month end one payment 5 k was agreed, once she got 5 k, she disappeared, still not blocked but no responses for messages. For another guy she couldn't convince him for virtual, so she suggested him to buy food, groceries in small amounts, once it reached 5 k she blocked him. I know they should have been cautious, but we never know when the bad day happens right. So it happened in parallel to 2 of my friends. They are shy to post here, so I am posting to save fellow brothers from falling prey.

Her SA ID used to be telegram ID, now she changed it, she is good at talking, stay safe and keep your gaurd up, it's your hard earned money.

I don't like to get involved in forum dramas, but just wanted to say that posting an address is not a wise move. Not sure about India, but in other countries this would be considered doxing and can be prosecuted as a criminal act (assuming it is the right address). It is even worse if it a wrong address as it can mean some innocent family can get harassed for no fault of theirs. In the Hyderabad forum, someone once put out an alleged WG photo and address. Forum members were quick to point out the issue with that action and the member had to sense to delete his post.

As SumSteamySex said, the photos and name has been posted which serves as a warning for us mongers to watch out for her. We appreciate the warning. But there is no need to post address, specially if it is not even confirmed if this woman actually stays there or not. At the end of the day, this is bad for the forum as it can be publicised in media unnecessarly if any harassesment results from the original post and cops investigate and the track the source of the harassesment to the forum post.
