Just got robbed yesterday around the SF area. Actual location is around the corner of Ave Caracas and Ave El Dorado and during broad daylight around 2 pm. Was coming back from supply shopping and a harmless looking girl was loitering around the buildings at the corner. Thought I'd just go around her but instead she steps in front of me, gets close and pulls out a knife and demands my phone. Unfortunately there was no one around for 50+ yards / meters and well you can't think too much at that time so I just gave it to her. Maybe I could have dropped my stuff and make a run for it towards people, but it's not easy to think when there's a knife a few inches from your face. Well she runs off and I followed her a bit shouting ladron but no one is around and she threatens to stab me so forget it. Anyways I don't bring a nice phone outside, it's like a $70 Motorola and this not being the first time I was robbed in Colombia I don't bring out anything I couldn't afford to lose. My Galaxy S22+ stays indoors and I actually bring a 2nd cheapo phone in case the Motorola gets stolen which it did. The problem with this is that I'm not sure what I could have done differently. I'm out in the middle of the day and I saw the girl so it's not like I was unaware. It's also really odd to stop walking forward if you see a lone person in front with no one around you, it probably makes you look even more like a potential victim. Stay safe all.

I'm not a fan of SF but for some guys its heaven. Any talk of danger in SF and the fans of SF will come down on you. However, there are lots of areas as dangerous and even more dangerous than SF.

I think its rare in the center of SF in front of the clubs because the owners of the clubs have a vested interest to keep it low key. I have tried to warn guys for years about the dangers of Bogota.

Time of day, crowded areas do not gurantee you of any security. Although time and area will effect your chances of a mugging, to some degree. People around mean NOTHING, Bogotanos WILL NOT GET INVOLVED.

My girlfriend of 5 years had her 5th phone stolen in 5 years, last week, at lunch time, in el centro with lots of people around.

She is doing her internship at a large engineering firm, from 7 to 1 and then 2 to 7 at class in the Nat'l University. As she made her way into the street half running from the transmilenio platform a big black Colombian with a large knife jumped in front of her and put the knife into her side and demand her phone, wallet computer etc. In her back pack. She stalled a bit hoping someone would step in, of course NO ONE did and never will. He got pissed she wasn't moving fast enough. By this time she got her phone out of her bag he grabbed it, punched her in the eye, breaking her glasses and cutting her on the side of her face, just missing her eye. He ran away. Immediately another man came up to her, didn't offer help, only asked her what did he steal from you. WHY you ask? Because they were working together, he was in on the robbery and wanted to know what his accomplice stole so the thief couldn't hold out on him. She then saw him talking to thief as they disappeared into the crowd. Bogota is dangerous, don't listen to anyone who tells you different, if they haven't been robbed yet its because they have not spent a enouhgh time in Bogota yet or don't live there.

Good report Jack, but you picked the absolute worst spas. Virtually all spas between CL72 and 100, and east of CR20 are ripoff joints in my opinion. You get better value and performance in the spas further north, past Mezz.

What are the names of the other spas in this area you mention?

I will be staying near Absolut, and not sure I can leave Zona Rosa. A few questions:

1. What will BBBJ cost me at Absolut (an hour session)? Is it fairly common or are they all CBJ there?

2. Is it hard to get an Absolut girl to come to your hotel in the evening or even do GFE?

3. What other spas are within safe walk of Absolut.

I have been told, and I experienced. They never restart the phone, they take out the battery then the SIM, and sell the phone for parts. Hopefully no one then is successful at stealing information. Not sure if that is possible at that point.

The SIM can be critical for stealing infos due to a SIM being used for 2 F verifications or recovery of mail accounts etc. Therefore it is imperative to use a local throwaway SIM in any cheap phone. Anyway, this kind of mishap makes you think twice about wanting to live in Colombia rather than (in my case) Thailand.

Doing a little Monday morning quarterbacking, I would have started talking in English acting like I did not understand Spanish.

That's something I probably would not do personally to avoid making her panic and do something stupid. Sudden moves and unexpected actions can either help or can backfire badly in a situation like this.

Do you look foreign, or not physically imposing? Dressed down? I only mean that bc I am foreign looking, rugby winger built (which doesn't mean crap in a fight) but at least being brown with a little mass while dressing cheap I had hoped to lower my own chances.

I look like an obvious foreigner and I'm not big or bulky. This I can't change. But I dressed with jeans and hoodie, no logos or anything. You are definitely more of a target if you look foreign because foreigners are better risk / reward than robbing locals.

I tried find my phone but it reported the last location near where I lost it. I think if they factory reset it, find my phone won't work anymore, and it's possible to reset Androids without the PIN. I think find my phone on Androids at least is for finding one that you literally lost, not ones that are stolen. Anyways I'm not chasing after a $70 phone even if I knew where it was.

Hi all.

Just another post to say thank you to everyone who contributes to this board, I've now made it to Tequendama for a few days where the game plan is prepagos in the day and the clubs in the evening.

I've noticed that girls who come to visit at the hotel want to take your full name, I've heard mixed ideas about this. At the same time though I'd rather the safety of the hotel room, especially after the guy who got thrown into a van after visiting a casa. On that note, if anybody goes out to visit a girl at her place, is it standard procedure that they let you wait until your taxi arrives or do they send you on your way?

I'm try my best to provide reports as I go along, I've booked Catalina from a few posts back who reviewed quite well. She seems friendly on WhatsApp and a keyboard translator but can't speak a lick of English so we'll see.

And leaving mid-day on a Tuesday. I've contacted Woodman and he gave me his contact info, but I think I was a bit premature since I won't be there until June. So I'll get back with him in another few weeks. I'd like to do his tour if we can do it on a Sunday or a Monday. I booked a hotel and I'm sure it's not girl friendly, but after reading a lot it seems like it doesn't matter if I order an escort to my room in the middle of the day, right? If I can't order in and / or I can't get with Woodman, I'll need some backup plans. Would I be correct in assuming that in order of quality it would probably go: casa, FS massage parlor, strip club? Danm sorry to hear that. It's kind of weird to hear it, because you could be over 2 blocks by carrera 10 (near Hotel Tequendama) and it's totally fine. I feel like normally I always keep distance from guys who're walking solo, but the incident definitely adds reason to also keep some distance from girls.

I'm really not sure what advice to give, except potentially maintaining further distance? For the part about it's really odd to stop walking forward, I don't think so at all. If I'm alone in a sketch area and I see anyone at all walking towards me, I prefer crossing the street or moving sideways. No one gets within 6 feet. I've only had one experience where some guys were following me for a couple of blocks, but nothing more.

There are around 10 brothels Calle 66 with carreras 15 and 16 . Girls there are average to below average. You won't find super hot girls in those places. It was the case years ago, you always had a few hidden gems amongst the crowd of GND in those brothels but since 2 to 3 years, it's over, only remain the not so attractive girls. Reason is that prices are too low, you pay 70 to 80 k per hour, girls pay 20 k for the room so she is left with 50 k per h. Average girls don't have the choice so they do it but hot girls are making far far more with an only fan or web cam chat services. It has become a real challenge to find hot girls that are on the sex market in Bogota, good years are behind us, hotties make money showing their boobies on TikTok.

Your best bet would be Chapinero, around Zona G. Centrally located, tons of nice restaurants and cafes, safe, and many high end girls live there, so logistically it is much easier. And zona T is just a short drive, in case you like to party. Or Parque 93 area, along with Virrey park, super walkable and close to nightlife and restaurants.

Usaquen is also a nice neighborhood, very quiet and residential, but is up north and kinda remote, but some Seeking girls also live there.
