I plan to apply for a 10-year visa. One requirement is the following: "clear passport-size photograph in business attire (t-shirt not allowed)". I assume what this means is at least a long-sleeve shirt and preferably a tie to boot. Pattaya has much higher percentage of girls who are looking for customers and are also close enough to come to your central Pattaya hotel. In Bangkok, you need to sort out the large percentage of girls who are either looking for permanent relationships or geographically too far to come to your hotel for a ST session.

Probably not much difference on Thai Friendly. I would guess Bangkok has more girls looking for a serious relationship, but that is just guessing. The main difference between Pattaya and Bangkok now in my opinion is; A) Pattaya much cheaper than Bangkok. Double price for food and drink in Bangkok. B) Demografic: Buakaow area has western guys, mostly 50 plus. Walking street is full of people from India, Russia and some Chinese / Japanese. It is a totally divided city now, much more than 10 years ago. Bangkok has a lot younger crowd over all. C) Pattaya / Jomtien has the beach, sadly lacking in Bangkok. I don't like the new wider beach in Pattaya, but Jomtien beaches still good as before. It is nice to enjoy the sea breeze on a hot day. Bangkok has much more variety. For newbies; definately go to both places!
