Well said, and much appreciated counter argument, as the "old timers" from all the mongering eras, do indeed contribute immensely to the health and long term well-being of ISG.

FWIW, remember: "Search is your Friend" .

Posts: 1173Can only imagine what Rio was like in the early 80's. Other than the movie BIOR, we will never know. Did they even have termas back then.

Posts: 1173It looks like you learned pretty quick that ordering a girl to your room is not necessary in Rio. With all the termas and clubs to meet girls face to face, there is no reason to order takeout. Too risky IMHO. You don't know what kind of beast will knock. Getting a terma girl to come to your hotel is decent odds unless she makes a lot during the week and just wants to relax.

From Duran Duran, "Rio", 1982.
I've also enclosed an old Pan Am Poster. Even back then mongers were flocking to these parts. No wonder the pilots were always smiling in Pan Am, doing their missionary tasks around the globe and providing tonsil massages for beautiful young women.
Moving on the floor now, babe, you're a bird of paradise.
Cherry ice cream smile, I suppose it's very nice.
With a step to your left and a flick to the right.
You catch that mirror way out west.
You know you're something special, and you look like you're the best.
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land.
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can.
Oh, Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande.
I've seen you on the beach and I've seen you on TV.
Two of a billion stars, it means so much to me.
Like a birthday or a pretty view.
But then, I'm sure that you know it's just for you.
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land.
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can.
Oh, Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande.
Hey now, woo, look at that.
Did she nearly run you down?
At the end of the drive, the lawmen arrive.
You make me feel alive, alive, alive.
I'll take my chance, 'cause luck is on my side or something.
I know what you're thinking.
I'll tell you something, I know what you're thinking.
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.
Just like that river twists across a dusty land.
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can.
Oh, Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande.
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand.
And I might find her if I'm looking like I can.
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land.
From mountains in the north down to the Rio Grande.

Posts: 2092Yes, it's a balance. I don't think the forum dies with laying things out in Reports of Distinction or in a FAQ. There are always things changing and evolving on the ground. I also enjoy reading others' "Penthouse Letters" stories even if they provide no new information. I do wish members that hook-up with an incredible girl would provide a name and contact info more often publicly or privately. "I'm going to keep this one to myself" comments are kind of silly. The girl fucked two hundred guys the six months leading up to one's arrival and will fuck two hundred more in the next six months. Hell, some of these girls even have ads on the internet. (Note: I wouldn't expect guys to share the Seeking Arrangements contacts they cultivated.)

Regarding the newbies showing up cold and asking "Where do I find girls in Rio?" or "I leave tomorrow for Rio. I have no time to read the forum," it's fairly obvious who can't be bothered to put in a bit of time reading. Just the other day a guy showed up on the Montreal thread saying he couldn't find any of the escort agencies people were discussing. The five major agencies were noted just a few posts down. I actually don't think he could be troubled to do a google search to find their websites.
By the way the more you travel the globe, the more you realize knowing where the sex venues are has limited value. They all have their nuances and operate differently. It is imperative that one reads through some of the reports in context to understand the drill. Recently, I believe we had a Pattaya regular asking about Rio or SP as if their was a string of go-go bars or strip clubs just lined up where you just hung out the entire trip.

First post ever here long time lurker. I read up on the CTG thread and had a fantastic time. Or 6 times. I have read the last 50 pages here and have even made a little map. I think I found the secret 116 don't know if I have the balls to actually go but I think I'm close. Don't know when my trip is but I did do the same for months before I went to Colombia and had a blast and never returned the favor. This time I will. Thanksto all of you for the info.

Yes, "Guide" is in the title isn't it? Well what does that mean? So a "Guide" can be a person or a thing that advises, suggests, leads, or shows the way to others, among other things. That's essentially what it means to "guide" another person. It certainly doesn't mean doing all or even most of the work for somebody else and / or feeling any obligation whatsoever to constantly repeat the same stuff over and over again just because somebody is a newbie seeking information. There's absolutely nothing wrong with helping a newbie, but just like with anything else in life, people are more drawn to helping others when they see that those same able bodied persons are willing to do things to help themselves.

A newbie needs to learn, and one of the best ways to do that in a place like this is to read that which has already been written which will answer many of their basic questions. Once they've done that then they can ask intelligent and informed questions that show they've done some homework and won't just be mostly a waste of time for others. I know there's a lot of information in these pages making it extremely hard to digest it all in a usable way. That's why I "guide" newbies to the Reports of Distinction that offer a more condensed source of invaluable information. It works. Reports end up in the RODs for a reason. They tend to be some of the most well-written reports available on the site full of useful details, background, history, and often of great entertainment value (also many with photos). Remember that time is one of the most valuable resources we have. My time, your time, everybody's time. So when a newbie comes to a place like this and starts asking a bunch of questions that easily show they haven't used any of their own valuable time to RTFF, then why should anybody else here surrender their valuable time to the newbie when the newbie wasn't willing spend any of their own time on themselves in order to learn? Things that carry value don't transfer for free. Sometimes you have to spend a lot to get a lot (or even a little).
People aren't going to be willing to do that (give up their valuable time to those who won't even spend any of their own time to help themselves), and occasionally just might let the newbie know, especially one who keep pestering for intel. I think that any suggestion that the forum might "die off" lest people keep entertaining the inquires of the lazy are rather disingenuous. And as someone else here noted, wouldn't it be nice if these inquiring newbies would say "thank you" when guidance is provided to them? You rarely ever see that, let alone a report giving back to the community after they showed up asking all of these questions, many of which they would have had the answers to if only they had put in some effort and some of their own time. How many of us have seen a newbie post, "And I'll be sure to report back"? Only for them to never be heard from again? Yep, famously repeated last words. Talk about over and over and over again! Newbies need to RTFF. And if that's too much to ask, then no they are the ones who are on the wrong board. After all, it's the old timers who helped to build this place and who sustain it. Not a newbie. Not until if and when they too achieve what it takes to become one of the contributing old timers.

It think it's a balance. I am very generous with information and agree reading tens of pages is silly when you can ask. But there are guys that come on that don't even read a page or two. Like literally a question is already answered theee posts down. I mean some guys are just lazy as fuck takers and that's annoying. But yeah if you have read a few pages and don't have an answer ask away IMO.

No discussion needed. But then the forum would die and it's kinda fun. Fwiw I have written a book that covers almost everywhere I've been. Thailand Spain Germany Switzerland England Brazil USA and prob a couple more. I am happy to share it with like minded folks as long as it's kept private. Just hmu on message.

Posts: 1416I googled "gringo bar jao de pessoa" and I got this result https://duckduckgo.com/?q=gringo+bar+jao+de+pessoa&atb=v334-1&t=chromentp&ia=web, which showed the club's website info and opening hours (strangely, when I googled "gringo bar joao de pessoa", which is the correct name for the city, I got this instead https://duckduckgo.com/?q=gringo+bar+joao+de+pessoa&atb=v334-1&t=chromentp&ia=web, which doesn't have the bar's website). Don't know why your search came up with it being closed.

Posts: 2683TBH, I don't remember a single issue with RTFF, like ever. I mean from one thread to another, RTFF's are plentiful and unapologetic, LOL. To the point, sometimes, that the amount of "tough love" can feel a little bit excessive and overwhelming to newbies who never read the rules (whether not reading the rules is acceptable or not is another story, but people just don't).

What annoys me more than asking questions is a disappearing act after asking questions. (I just wasted 15 minutes of my life to give you a thoughtful response, you dick, it wouldn't kill you to say "thank you".

Posts: 32What's wrong with helping the newbies?
Based on a recent post, I just want to give my two. Cents. This board consists of two different people, one of people who live in Rio. Or visit frequently or guys that are planning their first first trip or maybe their second, and are looking for advice and help. If this board is in fact for everybody, then I think the people that are very familiar with this aspect of Rio should be a little bit more welcoming to the new members. Over the last two years I've been to Rio three times and I'm much more informed now. But when I hear these responses over and over, that everything has been posted before when there are literally hundreds of pages to go through and many posts, do not relate to a newbie or a new visitor to Rio, it can be very difficult to sit through all the post to get the basic information one needs. So I myself will be more diligent and helping others as others help me when I was a new. This form literally has GUIDEin the title and if you're not willing to help the new people out then maybe you're the one who's on the wrong board.
